Digi Choosday - October Birthday with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday.  Wishing you all a lovely day today and that you enjoy the week ahead, I hope that you have something nice planned.

It's that time of the week when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is an October birthday and to use a colour palette.

I think I've already mentioned that Autumn colours are probably my favourite colours in the garden and in the surrounding mountains where we live....I wish the leaves didn't make so much mess on the patios but hey ho...small things!

For todays card I decided to use one of the fabulous digi deals the Alcea Hollyhock digital stamp set, this is another wonderful set of flowers, pre-coloured and black and white and includes 5 coordinating papers and 5 sentiments.

I wanted to make a birthday card for my Auntie as its her birthday in October and she loves her garden so I thought this image would be perfect.

Its a 5 x 7" card - and I started by adding one of the pre-coloured flower images to a panel of one of the digital papers in my graphics software, along with one of the sentiments from the set.  I wanted the image and sentiment to overhang the white border around the panel of the patterned paper, so resized the floral image and then copied this so I had another exactly the same size.

Next I have liberally splattered gold paint over the image panel, allowing this to completely dry before adding it to my card blank.

I used a metallic pen to draw a fine line around the paper panel just for an extra little detail.

The second flower stem was then fussy cut out, choosing some of the flowers and a few of the leaves - I wanted these to be in the foreground so mounted these using foam squares for dimension.

Finally I have blended a little distress ink over the popped up flowers, using two of the colours from the colour palette.

Gold metallic pen was used to add the flowers stems back into the image and then I have scattered gold confetti around the design.

I have a very special DT discount code that you can use for all your shopping on the Polkadoodles online shop at checkout use WENDYJ-10 and you will get 10% of your entire purchase (not in conjunction with other discount codes!)

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.

New Release - Hocus Pocus Witches - Don't forget your Broomstick with Polkadoodles

Happy Monday and a happy Halloween Eve everyone!

I hope that you are all set for tomorrow nights fun and celebrations.  We're off into our village as there's loads of fun organised including a procession around the different streets, a tunnel of horror, Dracula's tomb (not sure what that will be), roasted chestnuts and anise and of course some music.

Hoping the weather is kind and not too much wind or there will be witches hats everywhere!

This is my final Halloween card for the year and of course it had to be a cute witches kitty on his broom stick.

The main image is from the Hocus Pocus Witches collection and the little batty friends are from the Autumn Fall Halloween Treats collection all coloured with my promarkers (see below)

I decided for this cute kitty I would make a simple shaker card which I've filled with shiny star and moon confetti from my stash - I knew it would come in handy one day.

I adhered a few pieces of confetti around the design for a little bit of extra magic.

Life is not always Black and White

Hello everyone wishing you all a wonderful Sunday!

The bathroom refurb has finally finished thank goodness and were nearly straight again in the house, still got quite a bit of cleaning to do but were getting there.  I've even managed to get most of the craft room tidied although there's still a lot of boxes to unpack/rationalise.

I'm on my blog today to share something a little quirky that I've made using a couple of fun digital stamps by Julia McNeill owner of JMC Designs.

I've had these two stamps for quite some time but not got around to using them so decided it was about time for something a little fun and quirky just for me.

Aren't they adorable - this is Emily and Sophia (both were freebies)  Sophia was a freebie I think from the Kit & Clowder Facebook group and Emily was the June 2022 freebie from Julia's Facebook group JMC's Crazy Craft Hive.

I created a colourful inky background using distress inks adding a doodled border around the edge.

The sentiment strips are from Polkadoodles - Noodle Panda collection and I thought it was a perfect play on words for my definitely not black and white design today.

Emily and Sophia were coloured with a rainbow of promarkers before fussy cutting out and adhering to the card with foam tape.

To finish of my card I've adhered a few black gems for a touch of sparkle.

I hope that you like my fun and quirky card today and you will come back to see my next design ๐ŸŒž

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

New Release - Digi Deal - Poinsettia Wreath with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely day.....I hope that your Friday is going well...Were just getting ready to wander into our village for a few drinks and a little tapas - it is Friday after all.

If you are a fan of a more traditional style of Christmas card then I think that you are going to love this new Poinsettia Wreath Digi Deal from Polkadoodles.

It's such a versatile collection of beautiful images and includes pre-coloured images, black and white for you to colour yourself, beautiful papers and of course matching sentiments.

Here is a card that I've made using one of the pre-coloured digital images with some simple layering on a deep red card stock.

To create this card I've used the Poinsettia corner printed out onto my background panel and I also printed the same image two more times to fussy cut out some of the leaves and the flower itself, layering these up with adhesive foam for dimension.

Before adhering the fussy cut out elements I used some gold watercolour paint to splatter across the panel.

Just a few pieces of gold confetti were added for extra shine.

I have a very special DT discount code that you can use for all your shopping on the Polkadoodles online shop at checkout use WENDYJ-10 and you will get 10% of your entire purchase (not in conjunction with other discount codes!)

New Release - Hocus Pocus Witches with Polkadoodles

Hello and happy Wednesday everyone!  I hope that you are having a lovely day.

The high winds have returned here again with a vengeance - it always seems to happen just as our olives are ready for harvesting!  That means once again there are lots already on the floor around the trees....hopefully the winds will die down enough so we can start to pick over the coming weekend, and get them to the olive mill for pressing.

Todays card has been created using images from the Hocus Pocus Witches collection (the witch on her broomstick) and the Autumn Halloween Treats collection (the moon and cloud).

In my graphics software I started by resizing the images to create a panel for a 5 x 7 card, layering the moon and cloud image behind the witch  - I use Serif CraftArtist2 but there are many other programs that you can use including Microsoft Word and Paint and its really easy to do.

This was then printed out onto alcohol marker friendly card and coloured using my promarkers for a single layer design.

I added the sentiment towards the top of the design overlapping the moon for added interest.  I used a metallic pen to add some sparkle to the sentiment once the design was complete.

Once this was complete I then carefully blended a couple of distress inks over the panel to give it a spooky look.

Then design was then adhered to the card blank with a panel of coordinating paper and layers of black cardstock.

The finishing touch was some super sparkly confetti and a little glossy accents to the centre of the flower of the witches hat.

I have a very special DT discount code that you can use for all your shopping on the Polkadoodles online shop at checkout use WENDYJ-10 and you will get 10% of your entire purchase (not in conjunction with other discount codes!)

I hope that you like my card today and you'll be back for my final card on Halloween  from the new Hocus Pocus Halloween Collection by Polkadoodles.

A Passion for Markers BlogSpot Challenge #713 - Add some doodling

Hello and a happy Tuesday to you all ! I hope you are having a lovely week so far.

Today I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge.

This weeks challenge is being sponsored by Leann's World 101.

there are loads of wonderful crafty goodies available in the store so I would highly recommend taking a look.

The theme this week chosen by Elaine for Team 2 is - to add some doodling

I chose to use a beautiful digital image called Cindy's Umbrella which I think is perfect for lots of different occasions.

Don't forget there will be a prize for the Winner of the challenge - there are more details over on the Passion for Markers blog.

I decided to die cut some pretty papers from my stash and used these to create the background for the design adding a simple black line around the edge of the panel to resemble a frame.  The different papers helped me to choose the colours for my image, opting for a spring vibe as I wanted a complete break from making Halloween, Autumn and Christmas cards.

I resized the image  to fit a 6" x 6" card and then printed this out onto alcohol marker friendly card stock before colouring in and fussy cutting out.

Because the background is quite a busy feeling I die cut some extra layers of white card and paper layering these up with thin card for dimension and adding doodling again around the edge of these.

I used sentiment stamps that I felt matched the image - stamping one onto a strip of card and the other directly onto the die cut circle, using Versafine Clair dark blue ink to give a slightly softer look than black ink.

The image was mounted onto the circles using foam tape for dimension and I then added even more sparkly doodling and clear sequins across the design to finish it off.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog

Eat Lots of Cake - Autumn Sweets with Last Minute Manda

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Friday.......I hope that you've had a lovely week!

We've had another busy week and I have to say that I'm starting to find all the mess and noise etc very unsettling, work is going really well but I want my house back now, a little peace and quiet and I need some proper afternoon siestas!

We've had a day out and lunch at one of the nearby beaches with friends and were out tomorrow for lunch with more friends so I shouldn't complain!

On my blog today I have another Autumnal card for Last minute Manda using another cutie from the Autumn Sweets Collection

When we went to France in May this year we treated ourselves to some Macarons or French Macaroons, Saint-ร‰milion is renowned for them and oh my goodness they were delicious - very expensive but worth the treat.  I'm determined that once all the work is done and things are back to normal and dust free that I will have a go at making them.

Most of the information refers to them originating in France in a monastery in the 8th Century but they made it here to Andalucรญa or al-Andalus (where I live) in the early 11th Century.

I chose this digital as it reminded me of our trip this year and how much I loved them.

I resized the gingerbread girl in my graphics software for a landscape A6 card and then coloured her with my Promarkers before fussy cutting out and adhering to the card.

I also decided to use the October sketch from BYSHC too, using up more of my crafty hoard of papers.  Love this layout with these vibrant autumnal papers.

The simple sentiment has been stamped and heat embossed in white, added to the design, following the sketch

I finished off my card today with some simple gold confetti, a few highlights of white gel pen and some clear sparkle over the Macarons.

Don't forget about the fun challenge currently taking place in the Last Minute Manda Facebook group!  to create a Halloween or Fall card/ project - the winner will be able to choose 3 stamp sets of their choice.

The only rule is you must use one of the images from Last Minute Manda in your project - if you don't have any yet there are some freebies in the Facebook group ! or you can head over to the Last Minute Manda Store

Don't forget to use my special DT discount code Wendy25 to get 25% off your shopping !

I hope that you like my card today ๐ŸŒž

Enjoy the rest of your day !

I love Promarkers #545 Wings or Tails Sponsored by Sheepski Designs

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Wednesday! I hope that you are having a lovely week.

I'm on my blog today for the new bi-weekly I Love Promarkers blog challenge , it would be wonderful if you joined us over there if you love to colour with alcohol markers and don't forget there are prizes up for grabs.

You can find all of the rules and details for the challenge over on the blog.

This challenge is being sponsored by SheepSki Designs

Here is my inspiration card for the current blog challenge with the theme - Wings or Tails, using the wonderful digital stamp called Hanging Around, this is definitely one of our kitties.

Foxy is our youngest ginger tabby and he sadly loves chasing little birds so this is very appropriate, fortunately for the birds he's not very good climbing trees as a result of an injured hip.

I wanted to make an A6 popup frame card to create a little landscape tree scene for todays image.

For the pop up element I have used a piece of chocolate brown measuring 8 3/4 " x 4 1/4" cardstock , scoring this along the long edge at 1/2", 1 & 1 1/2" on both ends.

There is a great tutorial on YouTube tutorial by Jennifer McGuire, showing how to make these make a popup up frame cards.   If you haven't seen the video here is the link.

The aperture in the frame part of the card was cut using a fancy corner die and I added some leafy pattern paper to the base of the card before adding my popup frame.

Once my base card was created it was time for some inky fun!

I printed out the cat image onto alcohol friendly card stock before colouring with my promarkers and fussy cutting out.

I then adhered this to my popup frame attaching the trunk of the tree to the outside of the frame and securing the kitty on to a thin strip of acetate which is secured into the popup mechanisms on either side of the frame.

I also decided to add a few die cut leaves to the frame to continue the scene with a few coordinating sequins adhered  onto the background panel.

The sentiment was hand cut and then mounted at the bottom and I added a little glossy accents to the kitties eyes to finish off today's design.

I really hope that you like my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the I Love Markers blog

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Digi Choosday - Hocus Pocus Witches Halloween with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday.  Wishing you all a lovely day today and that you enjoy the week ahead.

It's that time of the week when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is Halloween.  Well it had to be really with only a couple of weeks to go to the spooky celebration.

For todays card I decided to use one of the fabulous witches from the newly released Hocus Pocus Witches collection

I chose to create a very simple spooky scene for my little witch - they don't always have to be complicated - just a simple stone wall and a dirt floor - it is a cave after all.

I started by resizing the little witch with the eyeballs in a flask to suit an A6 card panel and added cobwebs and potion flasks from the Autumn Fall Halloween set of ephemera.

I printed and fussy cut out the Hocus Pocus sentiment from the Halloween Trick or Treat set of sentiments

Once my background was coloured in with my promarkers, I have added some distress ink around the outside edge to make it a little more spooky, before adhering to my card blank, with a mat layer of black card.

To finish off the card I added just a touch of glossy accents to the star on the witches hat and I used a metallic pen to add little sparkly details to the cobwebs, potion flasks, sentiment and witches dress.
