Happy Easter Freebie from Dis Digis

Hello and Happy Easter everyone! I hope you have had a lovely weekend so far.  We've had a lovely Easter, a bit wet but we're not complaining about that as the rain is desperately needed - a shame for the Easter Feria, walks and for the processions but it's just how it is.

Today I am sharing a sweet Easter card that I've made using a free digital stamp from the very generous Di's Digi Stamps

The digital was free to everyone in her lovely group on Facebook so why not head over and join the group as Di gives freebies like this regularly to her lovely group members.

This little cutie is so adorable I couldn't resist colouring her and making an extra Easter card.  I decided to use a fairly muted colour palette today for a change, you can see the colours that I've used below and once she was coloured I fussy cut her out.  To create the card I used the chosen colors to pick 3 pieces of cardstock, cutting them with a die to fit my A6 size card.

Then I used an oval die to cut out the centre of each peice of card, I thought the oval shape tied in with the Easter eggs.

The top layer of the design was embossed with a floral embossing folder and I  added a little white ink with a brayer across the embossed design to highlight the pattern.

I chose a piece of gingham paper and added a layer of this to the card blank and then adhered the coloured card panels on top, before finally adding my little girl image with foam tape for dimension.

The sentiment strip is from Polkadoodles collection, simply cut and adhered to the card.  The finishing touches are some white gel pen highlights and some sparkly pink confetti around the design.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share.

Sheepy Sheepy Sheep Sheep - Fun Spring card with Polkadoodles

Hello and happy Friday everyone.  Wishing you all a lovely day today.... Spring is here, the perfume from the orange blossom and the wisteria in the garden is gorgeous and the birds are definitely feeling very twitterpated.

That being said we've had several days now of rain!

Wonderful I know for the ground and the reservoir is showing signs of filling finally, but sad for the Easter fair and processions here in town that started on Thursday.  Hopefully it wont put people off too much.

I thought today I would share a cute card using the Sheepy Sheepy Sheep Sheep collection by Polkadoodles.

It's perfect for Easter and Spring cards alike and there's such a good choice of images too in the set.  I decided to make a DL card so chose two of the images in the set, enlarging one sheep that would sit at the bottom of the card and then resizing the other 3 times and reversing the direction of one image too.  The large sheep at the bottom is Georgie and the smaller sheep is Darren.

I wanted to create a hillside scene and have my sheep springing around.  I coloured the sheep
in with Promarkers and then fussy cut them out. Next I created my scene, blending distress inks to create a hillside and adding a touch of blue at the top for the sky.

The sheep were then adhered tot eh card using foam tape and then I hand drew little springs below the bouncing sheep on the card. They are having so much fun leaping around but I'm not sure that Georgie approves !

Don't forget there are pre-coloured images too if you prefer not to colour

The sentiment is from the Rebel Girl collection, printed onto vellum so it didn't detract from the scene.

The finishing touches were a few highlights of white gel pen around the design

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles

Enjoy the rest of your day !

A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #732 - 3 of Anythings Sponsored by LeAnn's World

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely day !

Today I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in.

This weeks challenge theme of '3 of Anything' has been chosen by Linda for team 2 and being sponsored by LeAnn's World 101

I chose to use one of the beautiful fantasy digital images called Alesea for my card today....there's something magical about mermaids after all and I had the idea for the card in my head as soon as I saw the theme. This is a 5 x 7 portrait card with a fabulous inky background for my underwater scene.

I used a peice of 300gsm watercolour card and began by creating an inky background using lots of distress inks, drying in between each layer.  Once I was happy with the layers and the depth of colour I spritzed the panel with water and then carefully sprinkled Brushos over the design.

These really are wonderful pigment powders that help to create my watery scene really easily.  I wanted the water to look like it was swirling and bubbling around the main image.                                                                                                  I then used distress oxide inks to stamp 3 corals at the bottom of the design and 3 shoals of fish, these are my 3 of anything to tie in with the theme of this challenge then to add details and highlights I used metallic and neon gel pens to the fish and coral.
Next I resized the mermaid image to suit the card, printed on a laser printer and then coloured with my Promarkers (see below for colours used).

The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed onto a strip of blue card and the final  touches were some sparkly details to her hair
a few pieces of teal confetti around the design.

I hope that you join in with the challenge as there is a prize from the sponsor for our lucky winner!

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog

Happy Happy Birthday John - Party like a Panda

Hello everyone and happy Saturday - today I have a very special birthday card that I've made for my best friend and hubby John....

I decided it was time he got a specially made card as I've been so busy the last few years making design team cards and he gets rather left out sadly.

I bought this set of stamps and dies from a friend last year that was decluttering before the arrival of her first baby and this is the first time using it - its such a cute set of panda birthday stamps and really simple to use.

I decided to create a simple but colourful stencilled background using distress inks and a confetti stencil, die cutting this panel to fit a DL sized card.

I layered the panel on a larger piece of white card for extra interest.                                                                                                                                    The Panda, balloons and the little sub-sentiment were stamped onto a new watercolour card and coloured with some new Chromatek Watercolour pens that I'm trying out too - not completely happy with the results yet but I think I need to have more play time until I decide if I like them or not.
The panda stamps come with coordinating dies so I used these to cut out my coloured images and then mounted these onto my card with foam tape for dimension.

The finishing touches were some clear iridescent sequins around the design, white gel pen highlights, glossy accents on the balloons and metallic gel pen on the balloon strings.

Sweet Birthday Wishes with Pink Gem Designs

Hello everyone wishing you all a wonderful Thursday.  As its the Chinese year of the dragon I thought i'd make a dragon card but it had to be a cute once of course!

Did you know that light blue dragons represent the vastness of the sky and flight, while dark blue dragons represent still, deep waters. Blue dragons are highly protective creatures and magical.  They are a symbol of strength, wisdom and prosperity so pretty good to have around I think.

I'm here today to share sweet birthday card made using the digital stamp called Sleeping Dani Dragon  Pink Gem Designs

It's such a sweet image and the  set includes a pre-coloured digital stamp, black line art digital stamp and the sentiment too.

This is a simple A2 (US size) card with a simple stencilled background using distress ink and a cloud stencil on a panel that has the sentiment printed at the bottom.

Next I resized the sweet dragon printing out onto alcohol marker friendly cardstock and colouring with my promarkers (see below for colours). Once coloured I fussy cut out the image along with 3 die cut clouds.

The clouds and Dani were mounted on the cloud panel using different depths of foam squares.

To complete my card I added some white gelly roll pen highlights, clear sparkle to the wings and scattered some shiny coordinating sequins around the design.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project.

I Love Promarkers #555 - Use the Rainbow - Sponsored by Polkadoodles

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Wednesday!

I'm on my blog today for the new bi-weekly I Love Promarkers blog challenge , it would be wonderful if you joined us over there if you love to colour with alcohol markers and don't forget there are prizes up for grabs.

You can find all of the rules and details for the challenge over on the blog.

This challenge is being sponsored by Polkadoodles

Here is my inspiration card for the current blog challenge with the theme - Use the Rainbow, using this super cute and sassy digital stamp from the Wanda collection, this is Fairy Ballerina Wanda. Everyone that knows me and follows me will know how much I love using colour so rainbows are just perfect for me as a theme and Wanda is one of my favourite sassy girls.

She is full of attitude.

I wanted to create a one layer card so started by choosing two digital papers from the Wanda collection.  I created an a6 panel in my graphics software adding one digital paper with rainbows and then added a strip of the blue dotty paper at the bottom of the panel.

She is all about magic so I chose one of the sentiments and added this across the blue spotty panel , changing the colour to purple.  Next I resized the digital image and added her to the card panel before printing out onto alcohol marker friendly card stock.

I used my promarkers to colour in Wanda using a rainbow of colours (see below for colours) and then to finish off the design used a cross stitch border die to add detail to the top and bottom of the panel.

The finishing touches were some glitter pen to her wings, a few clear iridescent sequins and stickles to the wand.

I really hope that you like my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the I Love Markers blog

Take time to enjoy the simple things in life - Bumble Buzz Collection with Julia McNeill Designs

Hello everyone wishing you all a wonderful Monday, I hope that you had a lovely weekend...I managed to get out in the garden yesterday to do a bit of tidying - first time in ages with horrid bugs and colds, it was lovely being in the glorious sunshine and watching all the bees buzzing around the flowers.

I'm here today to share another project for JMC Designs using the gorgeous new Bumble Buzz Digital Collection, which is available to purchase in the online store.

It's a huge digital collection contains: 15 Digital Stamps, 15 Pre Coloured Digital Stamps, 6 Ephemera Sheets, 5 Topper Sheets, 4 Sentiment Sheets and 23 papers full of fabulous little bees and flowers.

For my card today I've used the Bumble Buzz Digital collection.

I love working with digital collections as its so easy and extremely versatile and I can resize anything in the collection to suite my project.

This is an 6" x 6" card with a pop up aperture frame on the front and perfect for the scene I wanted to create. I started off by adhering a piece of the honeycomb paper directly to my card blank.

Next I created the pop up frame element from pale blue cardstock, adhering a piece of pretty floral paper from the collection to the front panel.  Next I used a hexagon die to cut a window in the front panel and then adhered the pop up to the card blank over the honeycomb paper.

I resized the sweet little bee on a swing before colouring with Promarkers and then fussy cutting out.  I adhered the little bee into the aperture so he is swinging in the flowers.

I fussy cut out a few more of the blossoms and branches and mounted these on the front panel with foam tape for dimension.

The sentiment from the collection was printed out, mounted onto blue card and adhered in the top corner of the card.

To complete my design I added clear sparkle to the bees wings, a white gel pen to add highlights and glossy accents to the bees antenna.

The finishing touches were a few pieces of pink and yellow sequins around the design and some sparkles to the flower centers. I really hope that you like my card today and it would be lovely if you you leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #730 - Shaped Cards

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely day !

Today I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in.

This weeks challenge theme of 'Shaped Cards' has been chosen by Kitty for team 2 and being sponsored by Sheepski Designs

I chose to use one of the beautiful floral digital images called Dahlias for my card today....

I love these flowers when they are hot and spicy so that inspired my colour palette.
This is a 5 x 7 portrait card with a cut out around the top of the flowers, I have handcut this but you can create the same effect partial die cutting too for physical stamps.

The image was resized to suit the card, printed on a laser printer and then coloured with my Promarkers.  I also printed the sentiment and then applied teal Minc foil to add gorgeous shine to the sentiment.
I started by fussy cutting out the top of the floral panel and then used this to trace the outline on to the card blank.

The top section was then cut away from the card before adhering the coloured floral panel over the top.  I then chose a textured teal cardstock and adhered a panel of this to the inside of the card - I love the contrast of the pinks and orange of the flower with the teal - a perfect combination.
To finish off my design I have added a few pieces of teal confetti around the design.

I hope that you join in with the challenge as there is a prize from the sponsor for our lucky winner!

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog
