A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #847 - Under the Sea - Collect Beautiful Moments - Sponsored by LeAnn's World 101

Hello and a happy Tuesday to you all I hope that you are having a lovely week !

So the heatwave is continuing all this week with consecutive days over 40 and it's very difficult indeed....We have been trying to get up a little earlier to get some jobs done early before it's really unbearable and difficult sleeping even with the Zircon in our bedroom....... I think by the end of this week the temperature is predicted to be 44C so I suspect we will be doing less and less each day.

It's even too warm to sit in the porch with the fan on and trying to persuade the kitties to come indoors is a nightmare !

I'm here today to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog.

This week our challenge is being sponsored by LeAnn's World 101  and the theme chosen by Me for team 2 is Under the Sea....this is where I would like to be with all the heat here in Spain at the moment, I'm definitely melting.

For my card decided I chose to use Ashera , resizing the image to suit my A6 card before printing out on alcohol friendly card and colouring with promarkers.  

Next I create the background scene around the image, using several sea themed stamps and distress oxide inks to create my colourful underwater scene.

The card was simply finished with white gelly roll pen highlights, clear sparkle pen to the mermaid and glossy accent bubbles.

A Passion for Markers BlogSpot #757 - Add a flower - Sponsored by Leann's World 101

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely day !

Today I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in.

This weeks challenge theme of 'Add a Flower' has been chosen by Linda for team 2 and being sponsored by LeAnn's World 101

This is a 5 x 7 portrait card with layers of teal card and a pretty teal and peach floral paper. I used the colours on the paper to choose the colours for my colour palette today.

 

I resized the image and printed it out onto alcohol marker friendly cardstock adding a sweet sentiment to the panel.  Next I coloured the image (see below for colours used) and then assembled the card.

Once the card had been assembled I added 3 small wooden flowers to the design, keeping it nice and simple.

A Passion for Markers BlogSpot #747 - Favourite colours - Sponsored by LeAnn's World 101

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely day !

Today I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in.

This weeks challenge theme of 'Favourite colours' has been chosen by Nat for team 2 and being sponsored by LeAnn's World 101...I think you'll be able to see what my favourite colours are !

As it's now Christmas in July I chose to use a sweet Christmassy digital images called Tangled Trisha for my card today ....This reminds me of us each year trying to untangle the Christmas lights ! No matter how neat and tidy they are put away, they always come out of the box all tangled up again! Must be the Christmas Elves.

This is a 5 x 7 portrait card with layers of fuchsia pink and purple card and a fabulous inky background panel too.

 

I used a peice of 300gsm watercolour card and began by creating an inky background using my distress inks, drying in between each layer.  Once I was happy with the layers and the depth of colour I used an embossing folder to add details to the panel and then added gold watercolour highlights.  

Next I resized the image to suit the card adding a sentiment to the bottom of the panel before printing out on alcohol friendly card stock and colouring with my Promarkers (see below for colours used). Once the card had been assembled I splattered more gold paint across the whole card and added white gel pen highlights and glossy accents to the fairy lights.

A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #732 - 3 of Anythings Sponsored by LeAnn's World

Today I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in.

This weeks challenge theme of '3 of Anything' has been chosen by Linda for team 2 and being sponsored by LeAnn's World 101

I chose to use one of the beautiful fantasy digital images called Alesea for my card today....there's something magical about mermaids after all and I had the idea for the card in my head as soon as I saw the theme. This is a 5 x 7 portrait card with a fabulous inky background for my underwater scene. 

I used a peice of 300gsm watercolour card and began by creating an inky background using lots of distress inks, drying in between each layer.  Once I was happy with the layers and the depth of colour I spritzed the panel with water and then carefully sprinkled Brushos over the design. 

These really are wonderful pigment powders that help to create my watery scene really easily.  I wanted the water to look like it was swirling and bubbling around the main image.                                                                                                  I then used distress oxide inks to stamp 3 corals at the bottom of the design and 3 shoals of fish, these are my 3 of anything to tie in with the theme of this challenge then to add details and highlights I used metallic and neon gel pens to the fish and coral. 

Next I resized the mermaid image to suit the card, printed on a laser printer and then coloured with my Promarkers (see below for colours used). 

  

The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed onto a strip of blue card and the final  touches were some sparkly details to her hair a few pieces of teal confetti around the design.

A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #724 - Friends / Friendship

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely day !

Today I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in.

This weeks challenge theme of 'Friends / Friendship' has been chosen by me for team 2 and being sponsored by LeAnne's World 101

I chose to use a sweet digital image called 'Friendly Walk' and these friends look like they are having a lovely time catching up on the latest news.

This is an A6 (UK size) landscape scene card. 

The image was resized to suit the card and then coloured with my Promarkers.  

The digital sentiment was also printed out onto card and cut out into a simple banner.

To create my scene I chose a piece of paper that resembles sky and adhered this to my card blank.

The image once coloured, was fussy cut out but I have left the bottom section whole, cutting to resemble a hill and then used distress inks to carefully add green around the image.  The flicks of grass were adding using my Promarkers to help to ground the image.

To finish off my card I adhered some small clay hearts from my stash and added the sentiment into the top corner, mounted with foam tape for dimension.

A Passion for Markers BlogSpot Challenge #705 - Feminine Cards

Hello and a happy Tuesday to you all I hope that you have a lovely week ahead! 

My step-daughter and her friend arrive today to stay for a week so were going to be doing a little sightseeing and showing them around so I'm hoping that it will be a little cooler while they are here.  We're still not used to it completely after 6 years!

I'm here today to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog.

This weeks challenge is being sponsored by Leann's World

The theme this week chosen by Kitty for Team 2 is Feminine Cards  and I chose to use the adorable image called Sweets for my card today. 

I've created a very pink and girly 6" x 6" Z-fold card and used some pink foiled card that I've had for many years to make the simple card base. The card was a little pale for my project so I've used distress ink to give it a more vibrant pink look.

The fancy die cut frame was gifted to me a few years ago in a swap so I don't know the name sadly but I've also blended pink distress ink over this to tie in with the card.

I resized the image to suit the size of my card and then coloured with my Promarkers (see below for colours) before fussy cutting out to mount onto the front panel using foam tape for dimension.

I added just a touch of clear sparkle to the hot pink bow, shoes, ice cream and the dress and a few sequins around the image for extra sparkle.

Its such a fun and cute image don't you think! I also used a stamp from my stash to stamp a simple sentiment inside the card.
