New Release - Party Animals - Happy Birthday - Birthday Card - with Lili of the Valley LOTV

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Thursday I hope that you are having a great week.

I've got a yoga class this morning that I'm looking forward to and then we are off out with friends up the mountain to a small village above ours for a few drinks and a catch up.

Its been an extremely hectic few days  - it was hubbies birthday on Monday and his son and grandson arrived on Saturday for a surprise visit....as you can imagine we are both shattered but had a great time.

We also managed to sneak a night away on the coast at one of our favourite hotels to celebrate - it was wonderful but were both glad to get back to normal LOL.

I'm back with another cute card using one of the party animals from the recent March release by Lili of the Valley (LOTV)available now from the Etsy shop.

My fun birthday card today features the bunny with a scrumptious looking cake.

There are 4 little characters...perfect for loads of different occasions....I hope you have had a look at them by now - they are so easy to colour in.

I added a sweet LOTV sentiment to the panel below the bunny before printing out

Just some simple colouring with my promarkers before cutting out with an arched die, partially cutting around the bunny ears. I adhered the bunny panel to the card using a low profile foam tape.

I've used a bright colour dotty paper from my stash to create my simple card and finishing touches added of white gel pen highlights, sparkle pen to the birthday cake and clear sparkly gems around the design.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Lili of the Valley (LOTV)

Hasta luego πŸ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Back to Basics - Male Birthday - Craftwork Cards - Take it Easy Collection

Hello everyone wishing you all a wonderful Friday - Yeah It's raining !

that probably sounds really weird to most people but we don't get that much here so when it rains its wonderful....as long as it doesn't carry on for days that is LOL

Rainy Days are cosy indoor crafty days.....once I've done a few chores obviously.

I needed to make a very plain male birthday card (no Frou-frou) to send to the UK and I decided in my mission to use my stash this year I would dig out one of my Craftwork Cards collections.

This A6 Hammock Fold card has been made using the Take is Easy collection.

I always struggle with masculine cards but I'm pleased how this came out and I think it fits the bill.

Its a new card fold for me but I love it and its great for using those papers in my crafty hoard.

For the base card I used two pieces of pale blue cardstock measuring 12" x 6" and 9" x 4"

The larger peice was scored at 2", 4", 8" & 10" and the smaller piece scored at 1 1/2", 3", 6" & 7 1/2"

If you are looking for a tutorial for the hammock fold card then I would recommend reading the one at Beccy's Place as its really clear and easy to follow.

Here is the link for the tutorial

I've used up some of the scraps of paper that I have kept for ages and a couple of the sentiments that cam in the collection to decorate the card.

I die cut a couple of diamonds from the pale blue card to layer under the sentiments as I didn't want them to be lost with the busy paper pattern.

I added a few pieces of orange candi and then coated them with glossy accents so they look like enamel dots.

Its really simple and a lovely style and easily folds up to fit an A6 size envelope.

Hasta luego πŸ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Digi Choosday - Wednesdays - January birthday - Rebel girl with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you are having a good week....and have completely recovered after the Christmas festivities....it was the three Kings celebration here on Monday 6th January or El DΓa de los Reyes Magos, better known as the feast of Epiphany and is treated like Christmas Day in Spain.

Santa doesn't take centre stage here but rather, the Three Kings shower gifts on youngsters....I suspect though that a lot of children also get gifts on Christmas Day too!

So, rather than taking down the decorations before Twelfth Night in the UK, we leave ours up to make sure that the Three Kings can find their way here!

Anyway - wishing you all a Happy and Healthy New Year!

It's that time of the week when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is to create a January birthday card using this colour palette.

I decided to create a Z-Fold Bookbinding card - I'm rather enjoying making these at the moment!

I started by creating the card base from a bright pink card, two pieces of card 1  measuring 11 1/2" x 5 7/8" and the second piece measuring 3 1/2 " x 5 7/8"

Next I scored the larger piece as follows along the long side:

  • 2 1/8", 4 1/4" , 5 1/2"
The card was folded and burnished and then the book binding edge was glued down to create the folded card.

I then chose a couple of turquoise papers from the Rebel Girl collection and adhered these to my card base, leaving a small amount of the pink card showing.

In my graphics software, I resized the pre-coloured Rebel Girl image and added her to a layer of pink paper from the collection along with one of the sentiments. I then printed this out along with 3 extra coloured images as I wanted to decoupage these for dimension.  I've used 3D glue gel for my decoupage layers.

For some extra details I used a border die in the pink card to add the loopy edges and I die cut a flower trellis for the inside of the card along with a pink card arch for the handwritten message.

To finish off my card I added some teal confetti around the design ,sparkle, white gelly roll pen highlights and glossy accents.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.

Digi Choosday - Wednesdays - December birthday - Snowy Days Theo Hello with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you are having a good week....not long until Christmas day now so I hope that you have been good this year.

It's that time of the week when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is to create a December birthday using this colour palette.

I decided to create a Z-Fold Bookbinding card - I'm enjoying making these at the moment!

I started by creating the card base from a blue card, two pieces of card 1  measuring 11 1/2" x 5 7/8" and the second piece measuring 3 1/2 " x 5 7/8"

Next I scored the larger piece as follows along the long side:

  • 2 1/8", 4 1/4" , 5 1/2"
The card was folded and burnished and then the book binding edge was glued down to create the folded card.

I then chose some orange papers from the Freddy Fox collection and adhered these to my card base, leaving a small amount of the blue card showing.

In my graphics software, I then resized the Theo Hello penguin image from the brand new Snowy Days collection and printed this out onto alcohol marker friendly card along with the birthday sentiment from the collection.

I die cut an arched frame from the same blue card and mat and layered the birthday sentiment at the bottom of the arch.  I used the waste from the arched frame to add to the inside of the card.

Theo was coloured with my promarkers before being fussy cut out and adhering into the arch with foam tape.

I then used a balloon and bunting dies set to add details to my happy birthday card, ink blending the balloons fro dimension.

To finish off my card I added some gold confetti around the design , clear sparkle to the bunting and white gelly roll pen highlights to Theo.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.

Digi Choosday - Wednesdays - Christmas Adult birthday with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday...

It's that time of the week when we share some inspiration for the current 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in.  We've had a few changes to the blog challenge and its now a month long challenge and you can enter up to 4 times.  The design team will still be sharing weekly inspiration for you all

and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is to create a Christmas birthday card for an adult.  I've always felt quite sorry for anyone with a birthday at Christmas as I think far too often their celebration gets lumped in with Christmas so I'm pleased mine is in July.  This card will be winging its way over to the UK for my cousins birthday at the end of December.

Because we have been so busy lately with the olives and I haven't had much time for crafting, I decided for my card today to use one of the gorgeous pre-coloured images poinsettia swags from the Poinsettia Wreath bundle.

In my graphics software, I started with a piece of digital paper from the Jolly Santa collection, resizing this to suit a 5" x 7" or A7 card blank.  Next I added the poinsettia swag, resizing to suit the panel and also added one of the sentiments from the new Theo Penguin collection.  To create extra dimension I decided to print out two extra poinsettias and then fussy cut these out, adding to my design using 3D glue gel.

The panel was layered onto gold mirri card and I then splattered gold and silver metallic watercolour paint over the design.

To finish off my card I added some stickles to the centre of the flowers for a little extra sparkle.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.

I used the little banner die to die cut from scraps of coloured card and then added the letters to spell out Happy on the two banners.
