I'm Your biggest fan - Peacock - May Release - Cooflix by Freakin' Cute

Hello and a happy Tuesday everyone ! I hope that your week has started well...it's cooled off little here thankfully, for a few days at least..only 32C today LOL but the temperatures are set to sore again at the end of the week due to the persistent heat dome over Europe.

Today I'm super excited to share another colourful card that I have made using Cooflix from the May digital stop release by Freakin' Cute.

Isn't she just gorgeous  or should I say he as its the male peacocks that have those fabulous tail feathers.

When we went walking above Granada a few weeks back we visited a little church the hermita de los tres Juanes) at the top of the mountain where there were several peacocks and their ladies hens strutting around. It was beautiful and I love these birds and how they strut around,

I've gone with my favourite bold strong colours and I decided to embrace them for this card, colouring up Cooflix in shades of jade, blue and gold and then fussy cut out the image.

I wanted to emphasise the gorgeous tail feather so created a fan to site behind the bird.  I don't have any specific feather dies sp used several oval shaped dies to create the look I was going for.

It's an A7 size easel card and the centre pops up to show Cooflix and his feathers off.

The card base was a simple score on the top panel of the card and then I have used co-ordinating paper from my stash to layer onto the card base creating a stopper panel where the sentiment was adhered to.

I finished off the card with some sparkly gems around the design, a swirl of leaves, white gelly roll pen and glossy accents for the eyes.

One Leg Up, Worries Down - Flamingo - May Release - Amara by Freakin' Cute

Hello and a happy  Friday everyone ! I hope that you have all had a great week, not too hot if you are based in Europe!

Today I'm super excited to share a tropical themed card that I have made which is just perfect for this hot weather we are having.

I was very lucky to win  the May digital stop release by Freakin' Cute and this cutie is Amara...isn't she gorgeous and doesn't she know it too !

If you know me then you know how much I love bold strong colours and I decided to embrace them for this card.

I created a hot tropical background blending distress inks on a panel of white card and then used a tropical themed die to cut out that leafy border frame from green card, adding green distress ink to this to add extra depth.

I used my ScannCut to cut out Amara and the sentiment.

I added a couple of extra leaves and the fabulous sentiment that comes with Amara, finishing off my card with a few clear sparkly gems around the design.

A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #843 - Use Flowers - Hope your day is buzzing with Joy - Sponsored by Polkadoodles

Hello and a happy Tuesday to you all I hope that you are having a lovely week !

Oh my goodness it's been a very hot few days ...temperatures around 40C for a few days on the run now so fingers crossed the high heat breaks soon and we can have a little cooling respite.  It's even been a little too hot to be outside for very long and the kitties are struggling to keep cool too.  

I'm here today to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog.

This week our challenge is being sponsored by Polkadoodles Clearly and the theme chosen by Kitty for team 2 is Use Flowers.

I decided to create a bridge fold card to create a little garden scene and have use the Blooming digital stamp from the Buzzy Bee collection as it was perfect for the challenge theme.  I resized the image for my 5" x 7" card and coloured with promarkers before printing out and fussy cutting out by hand.

The bridge fold card was created from a piece of yellow card stock, measuring 9" x 5" scored at 1" on either of the long edges.  The big section for the front was a pice of yellow card measuring 8" x 1" again score at 1" on either end.

I used a couple of papers from the collection and adhered these to the card base along with some die cut flowers, a sun and a little picket fence to create my garden scene.

To finish off my fun Buzzy Bee card I added sequins around the design, lots of sparkle and lots of glossy accents to the flowers.

New Release - Friends are Everything - Friendship card - Fluffy Friends collection with Polkadoodles

Hello and happy Friday everyone... The Summer temperatures are ramping up fast and we have our first heatwave across most of Spain this weekend,  with temperatures of 40C where we live...so lots of time indoors I think, crafting, keeping cool and some chilling off in the pool!

There's a brand new digital release by Polkadoodles and I think you are going to love it !  It's called Fluffy Friends and there are loads of adorable images for you to colour or pre-coloured if you prefer.

Here's my first card from the new collection using the very sweet Monty Bear. When I was little I remember having a blue teddy bear and Monty reminded me of him so I've used my promarkers to create my blue bear and decided that yellow roses would be the perfect compliment.

My simple 5" x 7" or A7 card has a layer of pretty teal paper from the collection and one of the sentiments that I have added onto teal in Canva before cutting out.

I fussy cut Monty by hand and added him to my card using foam tape for dimension with a teal die cut frame and an inky background created with Pixie powders for sparkle.

The finishing touches for the card of sparkly gems and some extra die cut hearts and a little glossy accents for Monty's nose.

Digi Choosday - You Passed - Congrats - Graduation card - Upright Easel - Graduation/Student Collection - with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you're having a great week so far.

Summer has definitely arrived here and we've been very busy lately with my wonderful cousin and hubby staying with us for a few days.  She's more like a sister to me really and I miss seeing her but its great catching up too when we can - the boys don't really get chance to talk LOL.

It's that time of the week to share some more inspiration for our current 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing Digi Choosday discount off all crafty printable downloads!

The theme set for the DT this week is to make a graduation themed card/project so I decided to use one of the very cute images from the Graduation School Student collection  Its a jam packed collection of images, clip art, sentiments, word art and of course fun papers and perfect for lots of different educational and new job celebrations.   

I've used the very sweet Cute Boy  for my card today and resized this in my graphics software (I'm using the free version of Canva if you are interested !) I decided to add 3 piles of books from the clipart in the collection, so the little boy was standing on top like he's on top of the world and added a couple of extra mortar board hats in too before printing out and colouring with promarkers.

He looks like he feels on top of the world after all the hard work studying - very well deserved!

The card base is a 6" x 6" upright easel today with layers of a lime green/yellow and burgundy card and different fun and bright papers from the collection.

I decided to use the sentiment strips in the collection printing on my LaserJet printer so I could foil them in gold.

To finish off my card today I've added white gelly roll pen highlights and scattered lots of gold confetti around the design to tie in with the foiled sentiment strips.

A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #839 - Happy Birthday - It's Cake Day! - Sponsored by The Paper Shelter

The summer has arrived here in Spain and across most of Europe too so I hope everyone enjoys the wonderful weather and keeps cool and hydrated.

We went walking on Sunday with our local walking group and I had far too much sun so Im keeping out of it today as much as possible.

I'm here today to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog.

This weeks challenge is sponsored by The Paper Shelter however very sadly they have now decided to close down their shop so this weeks prize will be the digital stamp that has been used by the design team - A Curious Cake.  It's a wonderful image however and great for both male and female celebrations.

Out theme this week is Happy Birthday and has been chosen for Team 2 by our lovely Elaine - we all need lots of birthday cards don't we LOL

I decided for my birthdy card today to create a fun pop up card from an aqua cardstock.  The card  was cut at 6" x 9" and then scored on the long side at 2" on either end.  The card was flipped over and then scored at 3 1/4" either end to create a central pop out panel.

I used some fun foiled papers to decorate the card panels and then resized the image to fill the front panel printing this out on alcohol marker friendly card stock before colouring in with my Promarkers.

I used my ScanNCut to cut out the coloured image and then matted this onto the card with a couple of diamond panels cut from the aqua card and white. The fun sentiment is from Polkadoodles from the Coffee, Tea and Cake collection, again cut out with my ScanNCut.

To finish off my fun birthday card I added a few pieces of confetti around the design, lots of sparkle and lots of glossy accents little.

New Release - Cute Creatures - Bundle Offer - Batty About you - with Lili of the Valley LOTV

Hello everyone happy Sunday - I hope the weekend is going ok for you.  

We were out last night at our favourite bar - normally date night is Friday but we swapped this week and it was nice for a change.

I'm in the middle of preparing for the arrival of my new computer - I'm really excited as the one I have at the moment is really struggling and on its last legs but feeling a little apprehensive too trying to get everything running on the new one. Ill keep you posted hopefully, assuming I can get onto my blog that is LOL

Today I'm sharing another a sweet little A6 card using one of the cute little critters from the brand new  Cute Creatures collection by Lili of the Valley (LOTV). available now from the Etsy shop.

 

It's a fantastic collection of 2 sets of images, that you can buy separately or as a complete collection - I know which I would choose as its a fantastic price for what's included.  Each set contains 93 cute little creatures or you can get all 186 creatures.

My sweet little bat card has been made using set 1 resizing him and then printing onto alcohol friendly card and colouring with with my promarkers before cutting out with my ScanNCut.

Who ever said that bats are just for Halloween.

Next I created my background, I printed out a piece of paper from the Cosmic paper set and used a circular die to cut an aperture in the paper and then used a moon stencil to create the moon with distress ink.

The little branch that the bat is sat on was die cut from black card and I added a white gel pen highlight to the top of the branch.

Finishing touches were some sparkly gems and white gel pen highlights around the design.

New Release - Cute Creatures - Bundle Offer - Don't Let the little things bug you - with Lili of the Valley LOTV

Hello everyone happy Saturday - wishing you all a great weekend.  

We've had such a busy week with various appointments, trips to Granada and things to do around the house and garden so I'm feeling completely out of sink, not entirely sure what day it is really....LOL

It was so windy yesterday too, I got blown home from my yoga class and ended up with loads of dust and grit in my eyes, hoping for a less blustery day today.

I'm back today to share a sweet little A6 card using one of the cute little critters from the brand new  Cute Creatures collection by Lili of the Valley (LOTV). available now from the Etsy shop.

My sweet little caterpillar card has been made using set 1 and I have to say they are so easy to colour and make really cute cards - I'm sure you'll love them and the hardest part is what to create with first.

I resized the caterpillar and then printed him out onto alcohol friendly card and colouring with with my promarkers before cutting out with my ScanNCut.

Next I created my background, I wanted the little caterpillar to be nestled in amongst the leaves but with a bite taken out so I used a stencil to create the leafy pattern and then die cut a shape out of the side of the panel.

Finishing touches were some little sparkly gems and white gel pen highlights around the design.

A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #836 - Furry Friends - Sponsored by Dis Digital Stamps

There's a new week long challenge started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in.

This weeks challenge theme of 'Furry Friends' has been chosen by Me for team 2 and is being sponsored by Dis Digital Stamps

I love the adorable images that Di creates for us and am definitely drawn to the cute furry friends so decided to make a simple card today using one of the fabulous freebies that Di gives away every now and then in her Facebook group DisDigiStamps

Why not have a look at some of the fabulous digital stamps in her Etsy store, I'm sure you will be spoilt for choice!

I chose to use the sweet little mouse with his bouquet of pretty daisies from February this year so started by resizing the image to suite my A6 card base and printing out onto alcohol marker friendly card before colouring with promarkers. 

I chose a pretty floral paper from my stash and used this to choose the colours for the flowers on the image.

To keep the design simple I layered a piece of the paper on my card blank and then cut two simple diamonds of white card adding a little distress ink to the bottom layer before adding to the card.   Using a plain background on the pretty but busy floral paper works well with the image so it doesn't get lost on the card.

The sweet little mouse was cut out on my ScanNCut machine before adding to the card along with a simple sentiment strip that spanned the width of the card.

The finishing touches were some simple white pen highlights around the design, teal confetti and glossy accents to the centres of the daisies.

New Release - Party Animals - Happy Birthday - Birthday Card - with Lili of the Valley LOTV

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Thursday I hope that you are having a great week.  Its been a weird few days with the weather, we have had a sudden drop in temperature with dark cloudy skies and a little rain.  Thankfully not too much of the Saharan sand (Calima) has arrived with the rain .....a few nicer days are needed now to start warming us up .

I'm back with my final card using the very cute party animals from the March release by Lili of the Valley (LOTV). available from the Etsy shop.

Another fun more masculine birthday card today features the super cute penguin bunny with a scrumptious looking cake.  I'm struggling to decide which is my favourite of these cuties.

There are 4 little characters...perfect for loads of different occasions....I hope you have had a look at them by now - they are so easy to colour in.  Did I ever mention how much I love penguins LOL

I added a sweet LOTV sentiment to the panel below the bunny before printing out and colouring with my promarkers.  I decided to do a little partial die cutting and then adhere the panel above a sparkly water paper that I have in my stash.  In my imagination the penguin is stood on the ice and you can see the water below.

 out with an arched die, partially cutting around the bunny ears. I adhered the bunny panel to the card using a low profile foam tape.

Finishing touches of sparkle pen and teal sequins around the design.

A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #828 - Anything Masculine - Sponsored by Dr Digi

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely day -  I was so late updating my blog for today - got completely side tracked after yoga yesterday and then I managed to do a little pruning in the garden so tired myself out...so I'm in a rush this morning to get it written and published before my haircut at 10 !

Its gone so cold here again - even though its nearly Spring officially and its hot when you are in the sunshine its very cold in the shade and even colder in the house LOL 

Today I'm here to let you know that there's a new week long challenge on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in as there is a prize up for grabs.

This week we are being sponsored by Dr Digis House of Stamps
and our theme is very simple - Anything Masculine and is being hosted by Elaine for Team 2. I'm still struggling to make more Masculine less cutesy cards - I should try harder I know.

I'm a Rock Chick at heart and I know quite a few Old Rockers who are also into their motorbikes so I decided today to use this cheeky Dr Digi stamp called Aubery Bumblethorpe colouring with my Promarkers before cutting out on my ScanNCut.


I then created a metal looking grid plate using an embossing folder in my stash, from black card and silver gilding wax. To tie in with Aubery's t-shirt I cut some red glitter stars and a large black glitter star to add to the background panel, cutting to fit the card base.


The perfect sentiment is from the Gnome for Men collection by Polkadoodles.


Finishing touches were glossy accents for his glasses and some silver gel pen on the buttons and belt.

Digi Choosday - Just Thinking about you - Mothers Day Card - Udderly Cute Collection - with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you're having a great week

The theme set for the DT this week is  to make a Mothers Day card following this colour palette.

I don't really make Mothers Day cards, I prefer to make a thinking of you card instead as it' can be a difficult time for lots of people - I like to create a card that I think my mum would have loved to receive .

When I saw the colour palette I immediately thought of the the brand new Udderly Cute Collection  and specifically the ephemera.

The card is a simple smaller A6 card with a layer of pretty floral paper from the collection in the background.

I die cut an arched panel and a circular panel from grey and white cardstock, stamping the sentiment onto the circular panel 

I challenged myself this year to start using my Scan n Cut machine rather than fussy cutting by hand and the ephemera sheets were so easy to cut on the machine.

I chose one of the ephemera sheets cutting out the elements and then layered these onto my card some flat and some adhered with foam tape.

To finish off the card I added lovely sparkle to the macaron and the hearts and a scattering of sparkly pink sequins.
