A New Adventure

2017 is going to be a big year for me and my better half, best friend and soulmate John.

We are moving to Spain in 3 weeks time (21 days from now  to be exact....not that I'm counting of course ๐Ÿ˜Š)
We have been planning for this complete lifestyle change now for about 12 years.....and it's finally happening!

After 32 years working for the same company in the UK I'm now ready to start our new adventure.....it's definitely more than a little daunting leaving everything and everyone we know but its also extremely exciting at the same time.....even the butterflies in my stomach have butterflies which is playing havoc with my digestion ๐Ÿ˜‚

After several weeks of cajoling by John, I finally got round to packing my things away....I seemed to have lots of 'last minute' creations to be made but they've all been finished....finally.

My little crafty space is all packed up into boxes, lots and lots of boxes....every tiny space packed with crafty goodies  much to the amusement of John....it's amazing just how much was crammed into my little box room....๐Ÿ˜„ I think most crafters are natural hoarders and I'm definitely one of them.......you never really know when that button or a bit of ribbon is going to be useful and I can't believe how much patterned paper and card I have collected.

It's all ready now to be collected and then transported over to our new home which is in a very special area of Spain called Las Alpujarras....it's a magical area in the South of Spain...in the province of Granada.......away from the tourist hot spots on the coast and nestled between two mountain ranges.....the Sierra Lujar and the Sierra Nevada.

Our plans are to spend our time working in the Campo, walking in the mountains (hopefully with a couple of rescue dogs) and generally spending more time together.  Obviously the amazing weather in Spain is going to play a big part of our new life, lots of sunshine even during the winter months which is going to be a real change from the grey days in the UK.

When I think now I can't begin to imagine wanting to be indoors that much, but in the evenings and when the winter comes the nights are dark and cold...(did I mention that we don't have any heating just a couple of log burners, lots of warm jumpers and woolly socks) that will be my time for unashamed crafting.

There are so many different things I want to try.....lots of wonderful plans and ideas,  new things to try,

We have around 80 olive trees and the same again in orange and almond trees, so as you can imagine there's going to be fair bit of work to do. We also want to grow as many vegetables and other fruits as we can and keep chickens for eggs.  Sounds a bit like "The Good Life"  ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Tom and Barbara eat your hearts out ❤️

I think that the next few months are going to be very busy and I'm already itching to get my craft room back up and running again...it will be like Christmas opening all those boxes and planning where everything is going to go ....I've got some 'emergency' crafty bits and pieces to keep me going over the next few weeks, a little colouring, maybe some jewellery making and even a couple of felt Christmas decorations to keep me going .....fingers crossed it won't be too long.

Whilst we relocate and until I can start crafting properly again I'm going to post some of my recent creations so I hope that you like them.....please let me know what you think.

This blog is going to be my space to share everything that we are doing, our hopes and dreams, the trials and tribulations, what we are up to on the farm and some of my crafty makes and I am hoping that you will enjoy reading about our adventures and will come back to read more.
