This week the DT was asked to design a card using bright colours and couldn't resist using the very cute Bella Bear Pulling up Daisies. She also comes as a beautiful pre-coloured image if you haven't got much time to create or simply don't like to colour.

๐Ÿ’–

As you all probably know I love using bright and cheerful colours in my projects, so I decided to turn the daises into brightly coloured tropical flowers rather than traditional white daisies and am really pleased with how the image turned out. Doesn't Bella look so sweet surrounded by all those brightly coloured flowers.

To create this card I started by resizing the black and white image to suit a 5 x 7 card base, printed it out twice and then coloured it up using my Promarkers, to give me extra flowers and an extra butterfly to add to my design.  The images were then fussy cut ready for layering up later on.

๐Ÿ’–

Next, I created my background, using strips of card as masks to give a torn edge effect and then using my distress inks blended over the top.  Some watered down distress inks were then been splattered over the background along with some iridescent medium to add a little extra sparkle and texture.

I then die cut a torn edged frame from plain white card to add to my  panel, to create the illusion of looking through a window at the scene.

My card sentiment is taken from the Winnie Daisy greetings, quotes and sentiments pack which I've printed onto vellum and then die cut using a stitched edge cloud shaped die - I've added an extra layer of vellum behind so that the greeting stands out more.

๐Ÿ’–

I used the butterfly from the image to trace extra wings onto vellum using a purple fine liner pen and then used a clear sparkle pen to add sparkle and tint the wings before adhering these to my coloured butterflies.

I layered the background panel onto a piece of black card, leaving a narrow border and then simply assembled the card, using adhesive foam tape to give added dimension to the design.

I love how vibrant the flowers look in the design and I added glossy accents to the centres and scattered a few sequins on the card for extra shine!

๐Ÿ’–

I hope you liked my card for today and will join us with this challenge over at the DIGI CHOOSDAY BLOG!

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Sending a rainbow of hugs

Hello everyone I hope that you are having a lovely day.

I am back today on my blog to share a very quick but bright and cheerful card that I've made simply using some card scraps.

I was making an inky background for another project that Ill be sharing very soon and had some torn paper strips so decided rather than wasting them I would add them to a card to make this background.

I love the effect and texture that the torn edges have given to the panel.

All it needed to finish off the card was a simple large sentiment which I have die cut in black card, the shadow layer behind has been cut from vellum.  I stamped the sub-sentiment and finally added a little bling.

Card recipe:

Distress ink - Picked raspberry, candied apple, carved pumpkin, fossilised amber, twisted citron
Simon Says Stamp hugs die & shadow layer
Simon Says Stamp - Garden Greetings stamps
Pinkfresh Studio essentials dies - diagonal stitched rectangles
Craftelier sequins

Tiger with flowers from Di’s Digis

Hello everyone I hope that you are having a lovely Friday….. it’s a bit hot here today somewhere around 40C so it’s all about staying cool and keeping rehydrated… lots of lovely water and cups of tea for me ❤️

We’ve had loads of problems this week with our drinking water supply pipe to the house bursting at different points, the water pressure has been turned up in the town and our pipes haven’t liked it at all …..so poor JJ has been digging lots of holes in concrete to temporarily fix the pipe until after the summer when it’s cooled down a little…. and we can get our plumber in to fix it properly…..It’s sadly going to be a huge job to replace the whole pipe…. ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ข

Hey Ho… campo life in Spain!

I’ve just finished this card for a challenge on a blog for DisDigiStamps ….. The artist Diane Carubia has some beautiful and very cute designs so I chose this Tiger with flowers for my card today.

He’s been coloured in with my Promarkers and then I’ve layered him up in the hills and grass which I’ve cut using my dies from Lisa Horton Crafts .  The challenge was to ‘show some sunshine ☀️’ so I’ve created a sunny background with my distress ink and lots of masking.

Just because...Who needs an excuse for a cake ! with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone……wishing you all a lovely day today.

I mentioned last week that I had some exciting news to share with you and today is the day I can tell you all what it is.....๐Ÿ™Œ

I've been a Polkadoodles fan for many, many years and I am so excited and honoured to say that I am joining the amazing Polkadoodles Design Team and today is my first project for them for the Digi Choosday Tuesday Challenge

This week the DT was asked to design a card with the theme of Just Because so I decided for my first project to use one of the beautiful pre-coloured cupcakes - Cherry Chocolate Sundae Cupcake after all who needs an excuse for a yummy cake!

I printed out the image 3 times after re-sizing it to suit an A2(4 1/4" x 5 1/2") card blank in my graphics software and then fussy cut the image and decoupaged it, using foam tape to create a 3D looking cup cake.

I created a little flag sentiment to add to my cake from the Winnie Daisy greetings, quotes and sentiments pack and then decided to add glossy accents to make the chocolate sauce shine - I think it makes the chocolate look good enough to eat!

I used a stitched die to cut a heart shape from the Winnie Sunshine Delights 6"X 6" Paper Pack 1 to sit behind my cupcake and added a little paper doily behind too.

The background panel for my card is a simple white die cut panel that I have added Aged Rose Frantage / Embossing Enamel to to resemble sprinkles on my cake.

๐Ÿ’—

I've used the same cupcake image and another sentiment from the pack to the inside of my card to finish it off.

I hope you liked my card for today and will join us with this challenge over at the DIGI CHOOSDAY BLOG!

Ellie with Ice Cream from Pink Gem Designs

Hello everyone I hope that you are having a lovely day….. I had my Spanish class this morning which went well and I’m just chilling before I make lunch then I’m off for a walk at 7pm with the town’s walking group….. the temperature here is ramping up and work around the garden is getting slower and we are having to stop earlier each day.

We had our first acequia water yesterday for weeks… we are supposed to get 3 hours every Wednesday afternoon…. It’s the water that we can use to irrigate the garden and the olive trees etc…. But our acequia isn’t one of the better ones in the area sadly and doesn’t run for very long each year…. It definitely makes you appreciate water and Rain living here !

Here is a cute easel card that I’ve made using a freebie digital stamp from Pink Gem Designs called Ellie and ice cream.

I’ve used my Promarkers to colour her in and created a heart shaped easel card with a dies from Lisa Horton Crafts

The papers and ice cream toppers are from an old set from my stash from a magazine in 2014 ๐Ÿ™„ but I thought were perfect for this card.

The sentiment and flower are from a Polkadoodles collection.

Enjoy the rest of your day ๐Ÿฆ ๐Ÿฆ

Just wanted to say……Thanks

Hello everyone…… I hope that you’ve had a lovely weekend and for those in the U.K. that you have enjoyed the platinum Jubilee celebrations ☀️

We’ve been busy again this weekend ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„building a new pergola at the pool and trying to get on top of some long overdue weeding.  The house painting is well underway and it’s even starting to look white again!

I thought I’d share the other card that I’ve made for my son Jack to give to his other manager when he leaves….the only inspiration from Jack for this one was ‘he likes to sleep’ ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„…. So I decided to keep it simple and created one of my kitchen roll cards…. These are so simple to create but I think perfect…. Especially for those boys.

This time I decided to use a 3D embossing folder and a large word die from Lisa Horton Crafts . I’ve created an ombrรฉ effect for my word using distress inks and then stacked 3 extra die cuts behind the word for dimension. I decided to add a vellum shadow layer behind the word too for a little extra definition.

I’ve got some very exciting news to share with you all soon…. Can’t wait to tell you what but I’m m going to have to sit on my hands and not spill the beans for now ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day ☀️

LHC 3D  embossing folder - prism

Happy Thursday everyone…… wishing you a lovely day today ☀️

I’ve been pottering around this morning in the garden but have stopped now as it’s far to hot to work anymore…. JJ has been busy treating some wood for a new pergola he is building by the pool and the painters arrived at 8am to start painting the house so it’s all go here….. ad usual ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

My son Jack who lives in the  U.K. is changing jobs at the beginning of July and he asked me to make a couple of Thank you cards for his current two managers…. They’re done and in the post, winging their way over to him (fingers crossed ๐Ÿคž they arrive ok )

One of the cards is for a cat lover so I thought my new stamps from Mama Elephant called My favourite person would be perfect !

I’ve used my Promarkers to colour in the image and created a simple rainbow background with a dotty stencil.
