Digi Choosday - Halloween Party - Halloween Party Sign | Door Hanger - Creepy Creatures Collection - with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday...
I hope that you're having a great week...Almost at the end of October my goodness the year is speeding by and only. few more days until Halloween.

We won't be here in Spain this year to celebrate as we will be in Japan for several weeks, touring the country and I'm not even sure if Halloween is celebrated there or not - I'll let you know !

It's time for the Design Team to share some more inspiration for our current 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog. I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing Digi Choosday discount off all crafty printable downloads!

Don't Forget that our challenges our now 4 weekly so there's loads of time for you to join in and more chances to win too!

The theme set for the DT this week by Nikky was to create something else for a Halloween Party,  so I thought what else do you need for a party ?  Hmm a party sign or door hanger of course.

I love a bit of recycling (and its free !) so for my sign today I started out with a rectangle of packaging card, it's the sort that has a corrugated centre.  I carefully removed small sections of the top paper layer to expose the corrugated areas and then used black gesso to cover both sides of the card.

Next I chose some papers from the Creepy Creatures collection and tore the edges roughly before adding these to the black base card.

I decided to add some small strips of gauze too between some of the paper layers for a bit of texture.  I used my Crop-A-Dile punch to add a couple of brass grommets and then tied some purple twine through these.

I added a few pieces of washi tape and some die cut black card splats next.

The Halloween letters were die cut from gold glitter card and foam and layered onto the sign in a wonky fashion.

Next I printed out a couple of the pumpkins from the ephemera pack and one of the sentiments and fussy cut these out, adding them to the sign along with glossy accents on the pumpkin eyes.

Finishing touches were splatters of black Wink of Stella pen and black sparkly gems.

I think this would be perfect for hanging up at a spooky Halloween party !

I hope that you like my project today and you'll enjoy the next that I share from Polkadoodles.

Hasta luego 👋

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Digi Choosday - Halloween Party - Halloween Cakes - Magical Fantasy - Hocus Pocus Collection - with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you're having a great week...This year is going by so fast I can't quite believe that it's the Middle of October already......it'll be Halloween before we know it LOL

The theme set for the DT this week by Nikky was to create something for a Halloween Party, I decided I would create something Halloween style cake decorations.

As you can imagine this went down particularly well with Mr Jaackson as that meant he would be able to eat the cakes once I had taken my photos......He has such a hard life

The actual cakes are Magdalena's, which are traditional Spanish small sponge cakes or muffins flavoured with lemon zest and olive oil. They are light, fluffy and typically baked in paper liners with a crunchy sugar crust on top. Spaniards commonly enjoy them for breakfast or as an afternoon snack, often dipped in coffee or milk.

Mr Jackson loves them at any time of the day.

I started by cutting squares of lime green and orange metallic finish tissue paper and adding 2 squares to each cake, securing the tissue in place with elastic bands - its doesn't have to be anything fancy, you could use twine if you wanted.

Next I set about creating the little flags for each cake, using pinchos sticks which are 6" wooden sticks, normally used for skewering pinchos or pintxos.

I printed out several pre-coloured images from the Hocus Pocus - Autumn Fall Treats bundle and the Hocus Pocus - Witches bundle, fussy cutting these out.

Next I used a fancy edged die to cut 6 circles of black card and then 6 smaller circles of orange or purple card stock, layering these up to create the bases.

I used a little distress ink on some of the sentiment backgrounds and added a couple of stencilled cobwebs to a couple of the circles.

The little coloured elements were then adhered to the disc using foam tape before adding sparkly gems, glitter pen and white gel pen highlights.  I adhered small pieces of bakers twine on the back of the little balloons

Once all the cake decorations were dried I used a hot glue gun to stick the wooden poncho sticks to the reverse of each and added a decoration stick to each cake.

I don't think it could actually get any easier and these would be perfect for any party - shame they won't last very long in our house LOL

I hope that you like my project today and you'll enjoy the next that I share from Polkadoodles.

Hasta luego 👋

Enjoy the rest of your day !

A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #859 - Birthday - Have a Bee-autiful birthday - Sponsored by Dies to Die for

Hello and a happy Tuesday to you all I hope that you are having a lovely week so far!

I can't quite believe its almost the middle of October - Why does time seem to get faster as we get older...I've never really understood the concept.

We are now busy in the last few days before we head off on our tour of Japan but I wanted to make sure I had my card ready for the current challenge which has just started over on the Passion for Markers Blog.  Fingers crossed technology works and this posts ok LOL.

I do hope that you will join in the challenge !

This week our challenge is being sponsored by Dies to Die For and the theme chosen by Elaine for team 2 is Birthday, we always need more birthday cards don't we so this must be an easy one for you all.

For my gorgeous little birthday card today I chose to use a sweet little bee gnome digital stamp by Polkadoodles from the Buzzy Bee collection.

This is Buddies and just look at that sweet little Gnome Fairy with her little bee friend, doesn't she look happy.

I resized the digital stamp for a smaller A6 card size, along with a sweet sentiment from the collection before printing out and colouring with my promarkers.  Both the image and the sentiment were then fussy cut out by hand.

I chose some of the pretty papers from the Buzzy Bee collection, printing these out and then cutting out with a stitched hexagon die for my background.  First I used a honeycomb stencil with yellow distress ink , stencilling directly onto the white card blank.  Next I used some gold metallic paint, splattering across the background and then adhered the little hexagons onto the dried panel.  The little Bee Gnome Fairy was adhered to the card using foam tape for dimension and then a small grass border was die-cut from the collection and adhered at the bottom of the card.

The sentiment was added at the bottom and then the card was finished off with gold confetti, clear sparkle to the wings of the gnome and bee and glossy accents on the flowers.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my sweet birthday card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog

You could win a prize.

Hasta luego 👋

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Autumn and Fall Card & Crafting Ideas - New Release - Winnie Autumn Wishes collection with Polkadoodles

Hello and happy Thursday everyone... I hope that you are having a great week.

I'm so happy that the weather has finally cooled off, still lots of lovely sunshine, a little bit of rain and definitely cooler mornings and I've even had to put a jumper on today LOL.

We've still not made the move to a duvet on the bed yet though and had the window open too all night but I'm sure to won't be long.

We had lunch on Tuesday with our friends from Glasgow and then on Wednesday with friends from the village which was lovely to catch up as always but with all the increasing cases of Covid and flu around we tried to keep isolated (no hugs and Kisses) as were trying hard to keep well and Covid / Flu free before our trip to Japan.

I'm not quite ready for Halloween yet so decided to create another Autumn card using the new release from Polkadoodles called Winnie Autumn Wishes.  I have to say its gorgeous !.

Winnie Autumn Wishes – is a fabulous original collection of cute Digital Stamps, Clipart & Card Making Printables including Autumn/Fall digital stamps, pre-coloured clipart, printable papers, greetings and ephemera.

The collection is perfect for card making, colouring/colouring, junk journals, printable stationery, scrapbooking and digital scrapbooking. Colour the black and white digi stamps with Copics, Spectrum Noir or Ohuhu/alcohol markers, Prismacolor pencils and watercolour/watercolour pencils, or choose the ready-to-use coloured clipart and pre-coloured images.

The high-resolution 300 dpi PNG files are easy to print, resize and use in your favourite projects, with transparent backgrounds where applicable. Look out for SVG and cutting files for Cricut, Brother Scan N Cut and Silhouette Cameo too. Create beautiful handmade cards, colouring pages, junk journals, planners, printed stationery, and digi scrapbooking projects with original, unique Polkadoodles artwork designed to mix and match throughout the collection.

There's loads of inspiration for you to see in the Inspiration Gallery on the Polkadoodles Website.

I've been really enjoying using the pre-coloured images for a change so I have carried on with this collection.  My next project today is a stunning little z-Fold card using the pre-coloured image Posting Happy Mail Who doesn't love getting some Happy Post just because and the sentiment I have used was perfect for those just because times too.

I started off with an A7 or 5" x 7" Kraft card blank adding a simple fold in the centre of the front panel, matting and layering teal card and papers from the collection onto the panels of the card.

Next I resized the pre-coloured image of Winnie Crafting to suite the card size adding the sentiment into the top corner of the panel before printing out.  I have die cut a panel of the teal card with a stitched edged die measuring 4" x 5 1/4" and then the image panel is slightly less than that, using the next die down in the set.  Before adhering the image to the teal card I carefully blended a little blue and pale grey distress ink over the background.

I created a similar panel for the inside of the card, using one of the Polkadoodles stencils to add a little leafy detail around the edge and matting this with teal and rust card.

I decided to embellish the card  little more adding die cut leaves from the teal and rust card and fussy cutting some of the little embellishments from the ephemera set, layering these on to the card with glue and foam to create different dimension.

The little tag was attached to the front of the card using a sparkly orange brad.

To finish off my card today I've added a little orange sparkle to the leaf of the little envelope in the sentiment and coloured in the hearts with a fine liner pen.

I hope that you like my project today and you'll enjoy the next that I share from Polkadoodles.

Hasta luego 👋

Enjoy the rest of your day !
