Have a Hoot on Your Birthday with Pink Gem Designs

Hello everyone wishing you all a wonderful Thursday!

On my blog today I have another card for Pink Gem Designs using a digital stamp from the Busy Owls set.  I have used the black line art stamp from this fabulous set which includes 6 different owls and the leafy branch for them to sit on.

If you don't like to colour then don't worry as there is a pre-coloured version of this set too.

This is Oliver Owl and he's sending birthday wishes to a very special, soon to be family member - my cousins' son is getting married in May in France and this card is for his wife to be on her Birthday in April.

I  started by adding a piece of digital green spotty background paper from the Baking Ginger Gift bag set  - I wanted Oliver to appear to be up in the tree and thought this green paper was perfect.

Next I resized the owl and branch to suit an A6 card and added the digital Sentiment  from the Birthday Owls set to the panel before printing out

This is a single layer card so I had to be careful colouring in the design using my promarkers but I'm really pleased how it looks. I added a little shimmer to the cupcake and the coffee beans on the cup and glossy accents to Oliver's eyes to make them pop of the page.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project.

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Love Birds Wings of Love - Skateboard Valentine with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone I hope that you are all well and enjoying your Sunday!

The town Feria finishes today and I have to say its been wonderful to watch the processions, very moving and emotional.....we didn't manage to stay out very late but that's no surprise not being party animals...

Later today we are going to one of our favourite restaurants on the coast - taking friends out for a meal to say thank you for everything they do for us ad to celebrate John's birthday with them too.

My card today is using the Love Birds Wings of Love collection from Polkadoodles. This collection is packed with cute little birds that I think are perfect for loads of different occasions, Valentines, Weddings, Anniversary, birthdays and for any occasion where you just want to sent a little love to someone special.

I stared by creating a background panel using one of the Polkadoodles stencils - Funky Vortex Grid and a rainbow of distress inks before, fussy cutting out and mounting my cute skateboarder birdie on low profile foam.  She is coloured with Promarkers (see below for colours used) I wanted it to look like my cool skater birdie is zooming across the panel.

The sentiment is from the new collection and I've printed this towards the bottom of my background panel.

Just a touch of glossy accents added to the hearts to finish off the card.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from this cute new collection

I Love Promarkers DT - Challenge #531 - Beside the Sea

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Wednesday! I hope that you are having a lovely week.

I'm back on my blog today with the I Love Promarkers blog challenge  which is bi-weekly and it would be wonderful if you joined us, there are prizes up for grabs too.

You can find all of the rules and details for the challenge over on the blog.

This challenge is being sponsored by Paper Nest Dolls  and there are some beautiful images available in digital format and they sell real rubber stamps too, which are all hand drawn and based on their 6 children.

Here is my inspiration card for the blog challenge with the theme of Beside the Sea, using a gorgeous image called Sand Castle Ellie

I decided to create a beach scene for my card, making a 5" x7" faux stepper from a bright blue and yellow cardstock.

I love this style of card as it gives lots of room to create a scene for the focal image and is really easy to create.

I have added some small shells at the bottom of the card that I've had for many years, collected from a beach on holiday in Cuba.

To create the grasses, I've used a stamp and co-ordinating Thyme sprigs as I think they look a little like grasses you can find at the beach.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the I Love Markers blog

A Passion for Markers Blogspot Challenge #682 - Birthday Cards

Hello and a happy Tuesday to you all !

I'm back today with a new DT Inspiration card for the Passion for Markers Blog challenge.

This weeks challenge is being sponsored by the amazing artist Rachelle Anne Miller stamps  There are some lovely images in her store, so why not take a look and join in with the challenge.  Don't forget there will be a prize for the Winner of the challenge - there are more details over on the blog.

The Blog theme chosen by Linda for Team 2 is 'Birthday Cards' and this is my inspiration for the challenge made using a digital image from Rachelle Anne Miller called Birthday Owls

I think that Owls are very special and definitely magical - we have a family living in our garden and its wonderful to see them silently swooping between the large old olive trees.

For todays 5" x 7" card I resized the image and then coloured with my Promarkers (see below for colours used) and then used a Lawn Fawn stencil to add confetti onto the background of the scene using distress inks.

Next I die cute the scalloped frame from white cardstock and used the same 3 distress inks to colour the frame to match the confetti.

Finally I have scattered a few co-ordinating sequins around the design for a touch of bling.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog

Just wanted to make you smile - Springtime Smiles with Polkadoodles

Happy Tuesday everyone I hope that you are having a good week.

It's that time again when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is Birds and Flowers with a CAS or Clean and Simple style so I chose to use this sweet little Chick with his umbrella for my card today.

I love making CAS cards but they are definitely a challenge but I'm really pleased with how this one has turned out....I always want to keep adding more to it but I think I'm getting better each time I make one.

I resized the cute chick with umbrella digital stamp on my computer and then printed out onto alcohol marker friendly paper before colouring with my promarkers (see below for colours) and fussy cutting out.

I've used a 6" x 6" white card blank  for this card and then cut a smaller panel of white card at 5"x5" blending a little distress ink onto the panel behind where my chick will sit.

I've then used a pencil to draw a puddle on the ground for the chick to stand in and coloured this with my sparkle pens using a blue and a clear pen to look like water.

Next I have used the raindrop cluster stamp from the Hello Sunshine clear stamp set but you could easily draw these in with a pencil and then filled in the raindrops with clear sparkle.

The sentiment I have used is from the Winnie Daisy Fairy greeting bundle printed out and layered onto 3 pieces of card for dimension.

Finally I have used low profile foam to mount the panel onto the card blank and adhere my chick to the card.

I hope that you like my Clean and Simple card card for today and will come back to see my next project

Spring Dahlias with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone Happy Friday...I hope that your week has gone well and you are looking forward to a lovely weekend.

We are well into the start of celebrations here on the run up to Easter, there is lots of activity going on in the local church in preparation and loads of rockets being fired into the sky (these are said to represent  the prayers being sent to God - its a real Marmite issue here - either love it or hate it)

Personally I love it and we knew all about the rockets before we decided to move here, its amazing how many people didn't seem to do their research first though and constantly complain on social media.

But first there is a celebration next Thursday when the statue of Christ is lowered from the alter... its called Cristo de la Expiraciรณn

The Festival of the Holy Christ of the Expiration of ร“rgiva  celebrated on the Friday before Friday of Dolores, that is, two Fridays before Good Friday.  The Christ of the Expiration is patron saint of the Alpujarra and also the co-patron saint of our town of ร“rgiva.

On Thursday at 12 noon, the statue of Christ is lowered from behind the alter, one of the most emotional moments for the people of ร“rgiva  ...this is accompanied by the loudest rockets you will ever hear, the main street is closed off and the crowds have to stand well back or crowd into the local bars to watch and listen as the bangers sound, there are stories of windows being shattered by the explosions.

Then on Friday at 6pm a procession leaves the church, travelling very slowly through the narrow streets up to a small Hermita at the top of the town and then back to the main church, this procession ends around 2 in the morning with fireworks!  It's definitely a special thing to watch and is very moving even if you aren't religious.

I'm back today to share a beautiful Spring card that I've made with the pre-coloured  Dahlia Flower 1 digital download from Polkadoodles

The digital set includes 2 digital stamps, 1 line art and one is pre-coloured, 2 matching sentiments and 3 coordinating papers in the Polkadoodles store

I wanted to create a DL (UK size) Frame style card - there are lots of stamps and dies on the market that you can use to achieve this but I decided to create my own and do a little fussy cutting.

I started by adding multiple copies of the Dahlia flower image around the edge of a panel on my computer in my graphics software and then printed this out before cutting out the centre of the panel.

Next I printed a piece of the striped paper from the kit, cutting this to fit my DL card and positioned my alphabet dies in the centre of this - I chose to user Easter as my text but this would be perfect for a Mothers Day card of Easter card too, or even just personalised.

It's quite difficult to see, but this is also an Eclipse card, you cut the letters out and then raise them up on extra layers of card for dimension. Definitely better seen in real life as they say.

Once the letters have been adhered back into the card I have added my dahlia frame to the panel and added just a few contrasting sequins added around the design.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from this lovely new collection by Polkadoodles.

Bella Bear Morning Coffee Digi Deal with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone Happy Wednesday...I hope the week is going well.

I'm back today to share a very quick card that I've made with the pre-coloured Bella Bear Morning Coffee digital download from Polkadoodles

The digital set includes 2 digital stamps, 1 line art and one is pre-coloured, a matching sentiment and 4 coordinating papers and is on a fabulous digi deal offer at the moment in the Polkadoodles store so don't miss out.

For this very simple card I've added the Bella Bear image to the teal spotty digital paper on my computer in my graphics software and then printed this out before adding this to an A6 (UK size) card blank.

I also printed and cut out an additional Bella image, cutting out the coffee cup, bow and her head to decoupage onto the flat panel, using foam squares.

The digital sentiment at the bottom of the card has been die cut using a wavy border die and I mounted this on foam tape for dimension.

Just a little clear sparkle has been added to the image, glossy accents on the flower and some contrasting sequins added around the design.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from this lovely new collection by Polkadoodles.
