Digi Choosday - Spring Animals - Lucy Monkman - Spring Card - Bunny & Birds - with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you're having a great week.  Wishing you all a very happy April too. 

It's nearly time to celebrate Easter, only a couple of days away and that will mark the end of our 2 weeks of Semana Santa here in Spain.

It's that time of the week to share some more inspiration for our current 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing Digi Choosday discount off all crafty printable downloads!

The theme set for the DT this week is to make a Spring Animals themed project or card. Springtime is such a wonderful time as the garden really seems to come alive and the colours and smells from all the blossom around the garden is amazing - all the rain we had earlier on in the year has really helped the plants.  

I decided to create a very simple one layer card today using one of the gorgeous quirky designs from the Lucy Monkman collection.  These are just the sweetest images and they really don't need lots of difficult colouring and I think are perfect when you want to create something quick simple and fun.

I chose the Bunny and Birds image, printing it out onto an A6 panel of alcohol marker friendly card.  I also printed out the same image on paper too as I was planning on creating some masks for my design.

I coloured the images with my promarkers and then fussy cut out the masks from paper, adhering these over my coloured images using a repositionable glue.  I added glossy accents to the musical notes rather than cutting masks and allowed this to completely dry.

Next I created the background gently blending distress inks to create a pretty cloudy sky and some hills.

Once I was happy with the background I carefully removed the little masks.

To finish off the card I added little white gel pen highlights around the design.

Coffee is always a good idea - New Release - Hug in a Mug with Julia McNeil Designs

Hello everyone Happy Friday !

I hope that you have all had a great week and have something nice planned for the weekend. Today we are celebrating moving to Spain permanently 7 years ago so there'll definitely be a couple of glasses of wine this evening but for now its all about coffee.

I'm sharing a project today for JMC Designs as part of our Craftober challenge.  

It's October so that means it's Craftober and all this month over at JMC Designs we've been celebrating with a fabulous list of daily prompts to help inspire you to get creating.

I hope that you've been joining in but there's still plenty of time and you could be in with a chance of a prize from Julia...the winner will receive an A6 Stamp of their choice and a 30% discount off their next order!  

All you need to do is create a project following the prompt for the day, using JMC Designs products and upload this to the Facebook group album.  JMC's Crazy Crafty Hive  If you don't have any products yet there are plenty of Freebies in the group once you have joined for you to use.

Today the prompt is to create a 'One Layer Card' - One of my favourite styles and so easy to create something beautiful.

I've created  a very stylish one layer card using the coffee cup stamp from the Coffee & Chocolate stamp set.

It's a clean and simple card and would be great for lots of occasions, male and female I think.

I stamped the design and the sentiment from the stamp set using black ink and then applied teal foil to the heart on the cup using my Minc foil machine.  The design was coloured using my promarkers (see below for colours)

To finish off my card and tie in with the coffee theme, I blended distress ink around the edge of the card panel, under the coffee cup to ground the cup and then splattered the same brown ink for texture.

Even though its a one layer card I couldn't resist adding a little shine, adhering coffee coloured confetti around the panel before using a dark grey brush around the edge of the panel and adhering to my tent fold card base

Digi Choosday - Freddy Fox - Friendship and flowers with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday I hope that your having a good week so far.

Are you looking forward to Autumn ? I love all the seasons but the Autumn colours are my favourite and I adore the poppies that we get here although they tend to be in Spring.

It's that time of the week when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is to create a Friendship themed card so I decided to create a one layer card using the fabulous and very cute Freddy Fox release..... I just love all the warm tones of Autumn so this is one of my favourite collections.

It's a very simple A6 card with the design panel mounted onto a layer of red card.  To create the image I started by adding the fox and poppy image to a panel in my graphics software (I've also flipped this through 90 for a different look and then added 3 little bees and the cute little duck to create my scene.  Finally I chose a friendship themed sentiment from the collection before printing on alcohol marker friendly cardstock and colouring with promarkers.

Just a few touches of clear sparkle were added to the little bees and I used yellow glossy drops to add details to the poppy stamens.

A Passion for Markers BlogSpot #743 - Animals - Sponsored by SheepSki Designs

Today I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in.

For my card today I chose to use a cute digital image called My Pad, Doesn't that cute little frog look very chilled.  I thought it would make the perfect New Home card ! 

This is a simple A6(UK Size) landscape one layer card, matted onto a layer of dark navy card stock.

The image was resized to suit the card and a digital sentiment added to the bottom of the panel before printing on alcohol friendly card stock.  I have coloured with my Promarkers, keeping with a simple vivid palette (see below for colours used).

The finishing touches were some white and metallic gelly roll pen highlights on the water, clear iridescent sequins and glossy accents on the frogs eyes

I Love Promarkers #555 - Use the Rainbow - Sponsored by Polkadoodles

Here is my inspiration card for the current blog challenge with the theme - Use the Rainbow, using this super cute and sassy digital stamp from the Wanda collection, this is Fairy Ballerina Wanda. Everyone that knows me and follows me will know how much I love using colour so rainbows are just perfect for me as a theme and Wanda is one of my favourite sassy girls.  

She is full of attitude.  

I wanted to create a one layer card so started by choosing two digital papers from the Wanda collection.  I created an a6 panel in my graphics software adding one digital paper with rainbows and then added a strip of the blue dotty paper at the bottom of the panel.
  

She is all about magic so I chose one of the sentiments and added this across the blue spotty panel , changing the colour to purple.  Next I resized the digital image and added her to the card panel before printing out onto alcohol marker friendly card stock.  

I used my promarkers to colour in Wanda using a rainbow of colours (see below for colours) and then to finish off the design used a cross stitch border die to add detail to the top and bottom of the panel.  

The finishing touches were some glitter pen to her wings, a few clear iridescent sequins and stickles to the wand.

Let it Snow with Patties Creations

Happy Friday everyone I hope that you are all well and have had a lovely first week of the year.

Tonight here in Spain we celebrate the arrival of the 3 Kings (it's not looking good so far for the town procession sadly as we finally have some long awaited rain, but I'm sure the kings will manage to get here ok anyway)

The first Friday of the month marks the start of a new Challenge for December over on the Pattie's Creations Design Challenge blog 

The challenge runs from the first Friday of the month and its an Anything Goes challenge or our theme for January is Snow/Snowmen, as long as you use a digital or stamped image in your project, so why not join in the challenge.

Winners of the challenge will receive 2 digital stamps of your choice from Pattie's shop.

Pattie has some wonderful digital stamps in her Etsy Shop pattiescreations and there is also a freebie every month on the blog that you can use in your project if you want to!

For my January project, I chose the Kitty Snowman digital stamp and made a simple a6 (UK size) card.  I resized the image to suit and printed it out before colouring with Promarkers.  The sentiment in my design panel is from the Jolly Santa collection by Polkadoodles.

This is a one layer card and the background has been created by blending distress inks to create a wintery sky, adding water splatters and then splatters of white ink for the snow.

To finish off the card I added a layer of navy card behind the panel.....

Walking in a Winter Wonderland - Floral Snowmanwith Pink Gem Designs

Hello everyone and a happy Sunday...and happy Bonfire night to all my UK based friends.

I hope that you are all ok and have managed to keep out of the awful weather...the high winds here have been quite scary and have definitely put a stop to harvesting our olives, for the time being at least. 

Hoping the winds subside soon everywhere.

Today I'm here with a Christmas card for Pink Gem Designs using the very beautiful Floral Snowman

This is a gorgeous black line image that comes as a PNG and a JPG file.  

I have created a one layer card A6 (UK Size), resizing the image to suit and adding two digital papers to the bottom of the design, before printing out onto alcohol friendly cardstock.

I like to use Transotype Perfect Colouring Paper 250g/m2  for my colouring printing it out at a reduced black intensity to prevent any bleeding and give a softer outline which I prefer.

Once coloured in with my Promarkers (see below for the colours), I stamped the sentiment in green and black pigment based ink adding clear embossing powder and heat setting.

The image was adhered to my card base with a layer of black card as a mat layer and I've added some sparkly to the pom pom of the snowman's hat.

A very simply, very vibrant and I think rather gorgeous Christmas card!

New Release - Freddy Fox - Cold Hands Warm Heart with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone wishing you all a wonderful Saturday!  I hope that you all had a lovely week and have nice things planned for the weekend.

We had another really busy week as work continues in the house.  It's still very hot in the sunshine during the day but at least the nights are now cooler and the room fans have been put away until next year.  Still shorts and t-shirts everyday !

I'm back today with another card using one of the new Freddy Fox digital stamps by Polkadoodles

Purrfect Wishes with Last Minute Manda

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Friday!....Still the best day of the week 

Today I'm sharing a cute Kitty card that I've made for Last Minute Manda  using the A Cat's Life Digital Stamp set.

I've created a simple portrait A6 (UK size) one layer card for today - using my graphics software to add the image and the sentiment along with a lovely background wallpaper before printing out on alcohol marker friendly card stock and colouring.

I created the simple table for the fish bowl and kitty using simple rectangles with rounded corners.

The only extra I have added to my card today is Glossy accents over the fish bowl but it doesn't really show up in the photo.

Less People More Cats with Last Minute Manda

Hello everyone wishing you all a happy Sunday I hope that you are having a lovely weekend.

We went out with friends last night to a lovely Pizza place in our town for a yummy pizza, its quite a quirky restaurant with lopsided tables in a little street put the staff are so friendly and the pizzas are heavenly - we've even learnt to share a pizza between me and hubby over the years which is an improvement to walked out stuffed as a shed and unable to sleep 😅😅😅

I'm here on my blog today share my latest DT inspiration card for Last Minute Manda 

I have used the very funny and sweet set of digital stamps called Crazy Cat Lady  again  this week  for my clean and simple one layer card today.  

As a self confessed introvert I think the digital sentiment that I've used  from Polkadoodles says it all !

The image was coloured with my Promarkers and simply layered onto my card blank with a layer of navy blue card stock.

It's a very clean and simple A6 (UK size) card, with lots of white background.
