A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #764 - For a Boy Sponsored by Di's Digis

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely day !

Today I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in.

This weeks challenge theme of 'For a Man or a boy' has been chosen by Me for team 2 and the prize this week is being given by

This is a simple A2 (US size) card today and I have used a super cute digital stamp from Pink Gem Designs called Dani Dragon with Balloon.

I think he's a perfect dragon for a little boy (or a big boy come to that) and I wanted to create a little nighttime scene for my dragon and was given some pretty dark sky designer paper a few years ago that I thought would be perfect for it.  I decided to stick to yellow, green and blue colours too for my more masculine card.

I started by cutting a piece of the paper to fit my card base and then used a circular die to cut an aperture.  I then used a moon stencil to create the moon that would fill the aperture using distress ink.

I resized the digital image of Dani and coloured him with promarkers before fussy cutting out.  I then adhered the coloured dragon with foam tape for dimension.

The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed on a piece of white card then I have blended distress ink over the top to blend in with the card.

The finishing touches were some pieces of gold confetti around the design, grey metallic gelly roll pen for the balloon string and white gel pen highlights.

I hope that you join in with the challenge as there is a prize from the sponsor for our lucky winner!

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog

I Love Promarkers #557 - Shapes - Sponsored by Sheepski Designs

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Wednesday!

I'm on my blog today for the new bi-weekly I Love Promarkers blog challenge , it would be wonderful if you joined us over there if you love to colour with alcohol markers and don't forget there are prizes up for grabs.

You can find all of the rules and details for the challenge over on the blog.

This challenge is being sponsored by Sheepski Designs

Here is my inspiration card for the current blog challenge with the theme - Use Shapes, using the very beautiful Wild Roses digital stamp.

My favourite colour combination at the moment is yellow and purple, they are such happy Spring colours so I decided my wild roses would be a pale yellow. Todays card is a 5" x 7" portrait card.

I resized the digital image to suit my design and then printed out on alcohol marker friendly card stock before
colouring with Promarkers (see below for colours) and fussy cutting out.
I then used my Minc machine to apply rose gold foil over the top of the floral image, it gives it such a beautiful finish.

Next I created the background panel, starting with a piece of white card stock, I used several hexagon dies to cut out apertures in the panel and then used a floral embossing folder to add texture.

I used a piece of purple designer paper adhering this behind the apertures and then splattered gold metallic paint over the entire panel.

Once dry I mounted the panel onto my card blank using foam tape and then used foam tape to add the wild rose sprig over the design.

The finishing touches were a few pieces of rose gold confetti around the design and a simple strip sentiment.

I really hope that you like my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the I Love Markers blog

Spring Colours - Cute Animal - Digi Choosday - Spring is in the Air with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday.  I hope that you have a lovely day today and that you enjoy your week ahead...

It's that time of the week when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is to use Spring Colours and an animal, there are so many gorgeous cuties on the website to choose from so it was quite difficult.

Today's card features one of the gorgeous digital stamps from the Springtime Smiles Collection - this collection is packed with cute chicks and bunnies do perfect for this weeks theme. I chose a couple of pretty pastel papers from the collection and then used these pastel shades as inspiration to colour the image with Promarkers, picking out the lemon and green as my main colours (see below for the colours used).

I've said but that I don't often make pastel coloured cards, opting for brighter richer shades but I enjoyed this design and I wanted to colour the bunny white.

This is a 5" x 7" card  with a scalloped frame die cut and diamond die cuts too to draw the eye to the bunny who is the feature after all.

The smaller centre panel of the diamonds was embossed using a new 3D embossing folder that I bought with prize money from Simon Says Stamp and its the first time I have used it.

I adhered the papers, diamond borders and the embossed panel to the card blank and then added the cute bunny to the embossed diamond using foam tape for dimension

The sentiment is from the Darling Buds collection and after printing I have foiled this with a mint foil before adding the simple sentiment panel to the card.

To finish the inside of the card I decided to die cut a floral border from the white card, adding this to the edges of the card panels covered with lilac paper.

Finishing touches where some super sparkly and coordination sequins and white  gel pen highlights.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles

Home is my favourite place - April Freebie - Strawberry Villas with Julia McNeill Designs

Hello everyone Happy Monday I hope that you had a great weekend.  We went on a charity walk yesterday with an organised group from our town, raising money and awareness of Cancer and had a wonderful day however after 23,912k steps and 16km my feet and legs are a little achy today.  After the walk a group of us went for a fantastic meal so all in all it was a great weekend.

It's time for me to post my next project for JMC Designs and its something very sweet and fruity today.  I love strawberries...definitely one of my favourite fruits and they are delicious here at the moment.

Its currently a card but I've decided I'm going to put the finished project in a box frame and keep it, it will look great on my craft room wall and I cant bear to part with it !  I will share a photo once its framed.

I have used the April Freebie called  Strawberry Villa and I think this digital stamp would make the perfect new home card.

At the start of every month Julia McNeill very generously gives away a fabulous digital stamp, which is available to everyone in her Facebook group JMC's Crazy Crafty Hive and also to her followers via Instagram, all you need is to use your email address to register for the stamp. Here is the link for you if you haven't grabbed your freebie yet.

I decided I wanted to create a scene with the little strawberry house so resized this to suit a larger A5 panel before printing out on alcohol marker friendly cardstock along with an earlier freebie from Julia from August 2022 called Bubbled Berries, you can still grab her here in the Facebook group too Freebie.

I resized Bubbled Berries so she appears to be in front, so larger and the strawberry house smaller as this will be at the back to give perspective to my scene.

The  card itself is a pop up frame card - one of my favourites to create and perfect for scenes.  For this one I've used a simple dotty textured cardstock, which coordinated with my strawberries.

After colouring in the two main images I also decided to print out extra strawberries and colour these to match.  Once all the colouring was complete I fussy cut out all the images and then put these to one side.

Next I took a piece of watercolour card and used distress inks to create an ink smooshed background with blues at the top of the panel and greens at the bottom.

Then I assembled my scene adding die cut white clouds (tinted with a little blue ink) and some simple die cut grass at the bottom.

The finishing touches to the project were white gel pen and metallic orange highlights and a simple sentiment from the Bumble Buzz digital collection

I really hope that you like my project today and it would be lovely if you you leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Butterflies - On Your Special Day with Pattie's Creations

Happy Friday everyone I hope that you are all well and have had a lovely week.

The first Friday of the month marks the start of a new Challenge for December over on the Pattie's Creations Design Challenge blog

The challenge runs from the first Friday of the month and its an Anything Goes challenge or our theme for April is Butterflies or Dragonflies, so as you use a digital or stamped image in your project, why not join in the challenge.

Winners of the challenge will receive 2 digital stamps of your choice from Pattie's shop.

Pattie has some wonderful digital stamps in her Etsy Shop pattiescreations and there is also a freebie every month on the blog that you can use in your project if you want to!

For my April  project, I chose  to use the beautiful  Butterfly 1
digital stamp to create a simple but arty DL card.  For the past couple of weeks as the weather has been improving ( it was 31C yesterday !), there have been loads of beautiful Swallowtail butterflies in the garden and I decided to  use these as my inspiration for the card and colouring today.

I resized the image 3 times to suit a DL card panel, printed it out onto alcohol marker friendly card stock before colouring with Promarkers and then fussy cutting out.  I chose to use slightly different sizes of butterflies on y card and reversed one of them for some added interest.  Whilst not anatomically correct I think these butterflies are a pretty good likeness to the ones in the garden. Next I created my background, using a peice of watercolour card.  I started by using a brush and water to add a wide, wavy strip of water down the centre of the panel of card.

Then I carefully sprinkled 4 different Brushos over the watery strip - you don't need very much of these magical powders at all for a stunning peice of card.  Once I was happy with the amount of pigment I gently spritzed a little more water onto the card to make sure all the powder had been activated and then used my heat gun to dry the panel.                                                                                                                                                         Once completely dry I splattered white ink over the coloured are for little highlights.  Next I matted this coloured panel onto my DL card blank with a piece of black card and then adhered the butterflies onto the card with foam tape for dimension.  The sentiment strip was adhered flat to the card with a small white border top and bottom.

To finish off the card I added a few dark iridescent gems around the design and added clear sparkly to the butterflies.

I do hope that you like my card for today and don't forget to join in with this months challenge over on the blog.

Sending you a warm hug - Altenew - Japanese Anemone

Hello and Happy Thursday everyone! I hope you are having a great week.

If you are anything like me as a crafter, I am always buying new stamps, dies, papers etc that I absolutely NEED but then don't seem to have the time to actually play with them!..I've always been the same even when I was little I absolutely loved stationery and pens and notebooks! (hated using them though as I didn't want to spoil them)

So this year I am going to do my utmost to use my, new purchases and make sure I get use out of them.

My first creation is using a stamp/stencil/die set from Altenew that I bought from Simon Says Stamp with a voucher that I was lucky enough to win last year.

It's from the Build a Garden collection and this is the Japanese Anemone.  My goal will be to create as many different cards using different techniques and mediums that I can using this set over the next few weeks in between my other DT commitments.

I had some of these beautiful flowers in the garden here when we moved over but no idea what happened to them - flowered for a few years and then disappeared, I must get some more bulbs.

I started by cutting a panel of white Neenah cardstock to fit a 5" x 7" card and then stamped the image using Versafine Onyx black ink. Then I used the stencils from the set and distress inks to colour the flowers and leaves.

There are 5 stencils that coordinate with the stamped image and its really easy to line up too.  Using different amounts of pressure when applying the ink allows you to build up depth in the flowers (darker at them centres).

Once I was happy with the coverage I used the coordinating die to cut out the flower stem and put this to one side whilst I created my background.

Next I moved on to my background, cutting a piece of white watercolour card to start off and adding the yellows and green distress inks to my silicone mat to ink smoosh these onto the card.  I like to add one colour at a time and build up the layers, drying each one off before adding a new colour.

Once I was happy with the amount of colour I then added a very small amount of Brushos to the panel and spritzed this with water to let the magic happen - these powders are just amazing and I love the movement they give to a design.

I dried the panel off completely and then used some nesting dies to cut out the background panel and a slightly larger panel of black card, adhering these to my white card blank.

I then used one of the sentiments and stamped this in black directly onto the card background.

The floral peice was adhered to the card with foam tape and then I splattered gold watercolour over the panel.

To finish off I added some tiny black gems around the design.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next card that I share, made using this set.

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

I Love Promarkers #556 - Add a Button - Sponsored by CFL Digi Designs

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Wednesday!

I'm on my blog today for the new bi-weekly I Love Promarkers blog challenge , it would be wonderful if you joined us over there if you love to colour with alcohol markers and don't forget there are prizes up for grabs.

You can find all of the rules and details for the challenge over on the blog.

This challenge is being sponsored by CFL Digi Designs one of our amazing and very talented teamies Caroline.

Here is my inspiration card for the current blog challenge with the theme - Add a button, using this very beautiful digital stamp of a vase of lilies I decided to create a more traditional floral card for this challenge, keeping it very simple.

This is an A6 card (UK size), with a simple panel of pink striped paper in the background.  I used a Stargazer Lily as my inspiration to colour the image using
promarkers (see below for colours) and then used one of the arch dies to cut out the design.

To add interest I die cut another arch panel in pink and an additional pink card frame, layering these onto the card, using foam tape to give dimension to the design.

To complete the design I have tied a small piece of cream twine through a small wooden heart shaped button and adhered this along with a simple sentiment strip from my stash.

The finishing touches were some glitter pen to the vase and a few small pink gems around the design.

I really hope that you like my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the I Love Markers blog
