A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #724 - Friends / Friendship

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely day !

Today I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in.

This weeks challenge theme of 'Friends / Friendship' has been chosen by me for team 2 and being sponsored by LeAnne's World 101

I chose to use a sweet digital image called 'Friendly Walk' and these friends look like they are having a lovely time catching up on the latest news.

This is an A6 (UK size) landscape scene card.

The image was
resized to suit the card and then coloured with my Promarkers.
The digital sentiment was also printed out onto card and cut out into a simple banner.

To create my scene I chose a piece of paper that resembles sky and adhered this to my card blank.

The image once coloured, was fussy cut out but I have left the bottom section whole, cutting to resemble a hill and then used distress inks to carefully add green around the image.  The flicks of grass were adding using my Promarkers to help to ground the image.

To finish off my card I adhered some small clay hearts from my stash and added the sentiment into the top corner, mounted with foam tape for dimension.

I hope that you join in with the challenge as there is a prize from the sponsor for our lucky winner!

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog

My New Stamp - AALL & Create #996 - Seeds of the World by Tracy Evans

Hello everyone Happy Sunday I hope that you are enjoying the weekend...the weather here is still really warm during the day and the snow on the Sierra Nevada behind us has nearly vanished - its not looking good for our long hot Summer ahead.   If things carry on getting warmer and there is less and less water then we are going to have to really reconsider the planting in our garden.

I really enjoying my inky play time the other week, just creating so am going to try to have at least one day each week where I just aim to create something.

So here is another card that I've made using one of the gorgeous stamps from the AALL & Create goody box that I treated myself to.

Todays card is definitely all about the texture !

I started off by stamping the design twice, once using Twisted Citron Distress Oxide ink and the second time using Pinecone Versafine Clair ink, applying clear embossing powder to this and heat setting.  I fussy cut out the floral circle from the design, added a small amount of brown distress ink around the edge and adhered this onto the embossed panel using craft foam for dimension.  I blended a little twisted citron ink around the edge of the embossed panel.

Next I created my background panel.

I used a couple of pieces of an old book page and added several layers of distress ink to this in a fairly random way.

Once completely dry I adhered the inked book page to a panel of chocolate brown card and then using an embossing folder to create texture.

The next step was to apply white gesso over this panel, allowing little pops of the colour and text in the background to show through.

Once the gesso was dry I then applied twisted citron distress ink over the white gesso, again leaving some parts white.

I tore the edges of a piece of green handmade paper and adhered this to the background panel and then added some fibrous threads onto this before finally adhering the stamped and embossed focal point.

To finish off my card I added a sentiment strip and a quote and then some pieces of gold confetti around the design.

The texture of this card is wonderful and I love all the little details and hints of colour peeping through the design.

Card recipe:

AALL  & Create Stamp -  #996 Seeds of the World
Distress Oxide Ink - Twisted Citron
Versafine Clair ink - Pinecone
Distress Ink - carved pumpkin, fossilized amber, rusty hinge, twisted citron, rustic wilderness, vintage photo
Cosmic Shimmer Detail Embossing powder - clear
Pebeo Gesso - white
Crafters Companion Embossing Folder - gunmetal
Posca Pen - green metallic
Jute threads
Pretty Pink Posh Confetti - Gold
Quotes - typed on my computer, The Difference In The Shades by Bright Eyes

You Captured My Heart - Cupcake Gnome with Pink Gem Designs

Hello everyone wishing you all a wonderful Thursday and I hope that your week is going well.

I'm here today to share a sweet Valentine's card that I've made using a very cute brand new digital stamp called Cupcake Gnome by  Pink Gem Designs

I have to admit that I'm not a huge Gnome fan (I know shock horror as everyone seems to love them - maybe its a childhood thing but  think they are kind of creepy!) but I thought this was so sweet I couldn't resist colouring it up for this card.

This is a very Clean and Simple A6 card with lots of lovely white space. I resized the image, printing out onto alcohol marker friendly cardstock, colouring with my promarkers (see below for colours) and fussy cutting out.

For my CAS card I die cut a white heart from card for my design and adhered this to my background panel, offset to the right, cutting off the overhanging portion.

The sentiment from Polkadoodles was printed out and foiled and then adhered flat to the card panel

To complete my card I layered the white panel onto a teal card stock, adding two thin strips of the same card on either side of the sentiment strip.  I then adhered the Gnome with foam tape, offsetting to the left of the design and added teal confetti to add some extra shine.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project.

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

I Love Promarkers #551 - Down on the Farm - Sponsored by Sheepski

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Wednesday!

I'm on my blog today for the new bi-weekly I Love Promarkers blog challenge , it would be wonderful if you joined us over there if you love to colour with alcohol markers and don't forget there are prizes up for grabs.

You can find all of the rules and details for the challenge over on the blog.

This challenge is being sponsored by Sheepski Designs

Here is my inspiration card for the current blog challenge with the theme - Down on the Farm, using the super cute In the Dog House digital stamp.

I think this pup is more interested in taking a nap than looking after those naughty and rather menacing looking sheep, they look like they are plotting an escape!

Todays card is a 5" x 7" landscape card and for my background I have used a digital print from my digital
software Craft Artist as it was just perfect for my scene.  I added little flicks of grass around the sheep using a green Fineliner pen

The image was coloured using Promarkers (see below for colours) and then fussy cut out and mounted using foam tape for dimension.    The sheep were fussy cut from a piece of paper from my stash that I have had for ages - it came from a craft magazine.
The sentiment has been foiled using a transparent foil which gives a glossy look.

I hope he wakes up before the sheep escape!

I really hope that you like my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the I Love Markers blog

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday.  Wishing you all a lovely day today and that you enjoy your week ahead.

The theme set for the DT this week is to make a Valentines Day card, using an image from the Lucy Monkman collection or Gil Rabbit collection.

For todays card I decided to use one of the gorgeous images from the Lucy Monkman Collection
of digital stamps.

There are some absolutely gorgeous and very stylish digital stamps in black and white and pre-coloured too if you prefer not to colour.

Today's card is an A6 size with a simple red glitter card along with a black and white check paper from the Lily Bug collection to create a couple of mats and layers for the image.

I resized the Stylish Dog image and the coloured with Promarkers (see below for colours) before using one of my dies to partially die cut the image, I then fussy cut around the little flowers so they would overhang the red glitter border for a little extra detail.

The sentiment from the Lily Bug Ladybird collection was printed onto white card, layered onto card and positioned at the bottom of the image panel.

I added a couple of thin strips of patterned paper and the red glitter card too

To finish off the card I added a few red gems, glossy accents to the dogs nose and sparkle to the hearts.

I have a very special DT discount code that you can use for all your shopping on the Polkadoodles online shop at checkout use WENDYJ-10 and you will get 10% of your entire purchase (not in conjunction with other discount codes!)

Celebrate You - January Freebie with JMC Designs

Hello everyone Happy Monday I hope that you had a great weekend.  It's time for me to post my project for JMC Designs

For my card today I have used the January Freebie and I think this would make the perfect celebration card with a wonderful glass of Cava to celebrate.

At the start of every month Julia McNeill very generously gives away a fabulous digital stamp, which is available to everyone in her Facebook group JMC's Crazy Crafty Hive and also to her followers via Instagram, all you need is to use your email address to register for the stamp.

This is an A6 card and I started by creating myself a colourful inky background using distress inks, adding them to my glass matt, spritzing with water and then swiping across the water colour card.

Drying with my heat gun in between each application of colour allows the layers to be built up on the panel.

I created extra details by adding ink directly to a small piece of acetate and then applying these to the panel, to create different textures.  I used a couple of different circular lids to create some rings and then used a small brush to colour these in to resemble bubbles.

I then used a black fine liner pen to add little bubbles around the panel and used gold Nuvo drops to add texture.

Once I was happy with the overall look I mounted this onto a panel of black card and then adhered this to my card base leaving a large white border.

The digital image was resized to suit my card and printed out twice on my LaserJet printer.

One of the images was foiled with gold before colouring in with my promarkers (see below for colours).

Once coloured both images were fussy cut out and then layered onto my card.  I added some strands of gold thread beneath the glass.

For a bit of extra detail, I have added some hand drawn circles of card that were coloured with yellow sparkle pen.

A simple sentiment was added to finish off my card, along with gold confetti and a litter glitter pen.

I really hope that you like my card today and it would be lovely if you you leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
