Happy Holidays with Pink Gem Designs

Hello everyone and a happy Monday... I hope that you had a lovely weekend.

We went out for dinner last night to celebrate the birthday of one of our friends and then cooled off in our pool with music and cocktails - it was a great night but were both feeling a little jaded today - too much heat, food and alcohol, so were currently chilling and snoozing to catch up on some sleep.

It was another hot day up at 38C and I think the heat it taking it's toll now too.

As its the last day of July I had to post another Christmas card as the Christmas in July draws to a close so I  decided to make a card made for for Pink Gem Designs using the newly released Christmas Kittens digital stamp set.

You all know how much we love our kitties so this is the perfect set of stamps for me!

The set of digital stamps and includes 8 black line art images and 2 sentiments for you to use.

This is a sweet card A2 (US Size), with a simple striped background on the card base.

I created the design using my graphics software adding one of the kittens the tree and a little mouse, resizing each to suit my design before printing out on alcohol friendly card and colouring with my promarkers (see below for colours)

To create my scene for the card I cut a panel of white cardstock using a stitched edge border die and then blended a little blue ink onto this behind the focal image and used the same distress ink to add snowy hills.

Just a simple strip sentiment and then some sparkle and shimmer were added to the snowflakes, baubles and the star.  I've blended a tiny amount of yellow distress ink behind the star too to give it a glow.

I really hope that you like my card today and it would be lovely if you you leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Sparkle All the Way with Amanda Jayne Designs

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Saturday!

It's getting pretty hot again here after a very brief respite so I thought today I would share another Christmas project made for Amanda Jayne Designs Only a few days left of Christmas is July.

I just cant get enough of this super cute penguin - called Gift Penguin but this is my last card with him ( I promise !) well for now at least, I cant promise he wont pop up again sometime.

For my third card I decided to create a traditional shaker A6 (UK size) card with lots of extra sparkle.

The papers I have used are from the Mint Christmas collection and I have added a sentiment from the Christmas Sentiments set at the bottom of my design

These beautiful pre-coloured images are so adorable and I think they don't need much adding to create a wonderful card.

To finish off my card I have added some sparkly sequins over the outside panel to match the sequins inside the shaker itself.

I really hope that you like my card today and it would be lovely if you you leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Enjoy the rest of your day !

You are Beautiful Inside and Out - New Release - Coral the Mermaid - with Polkadoodles

Hello and happy Thursday everyone...I hope that you are all enjoying the week.

I'm back today on my blog to share of my cards using the gorgeous new Coral the Mermaid Collection by Polkadoodles

Don't forget for a limited time there is a 40% discount available off this collection so I would encourage you to take a look.

Coral is a fabulous and fun collection of  6 mermaid character digital stamps.  There are also lots of extra elements, background scenes, beautiful papers and co-ordinating sentiments.

For todays card I was inspired by a recent card I saw the amazing Kelly Taylor make using an acetate overlay - here is a link to the video that inspired me to make my card.

I've made quite a few cards with acetate overlays in the past and I love them in real life as they give the card loads of depth to a scene but they are a nightmare to photograph!  So a huge thanks to Nikky at Polkadoodles for working her magic with my photo !

I used one of the background scenes - Fish ocean sea underwater scene and chose the Swimming Coral Mermaid for my main image resizing these in my graphics software to fit an A6 (UK Size) card.  I also  copied the angel fish from the background scene and resized as I wanted 3 of these on my final project.  When I was happy with all the elements for my card I printed these out on Alcohol marker friendly cardstock and then coloured with my promarkers before fussy cutting out.

I also chose one of the papers from the collection and printed this out stamping a sentiment from the Mixed Flowers Anemone set stamped with Versafine Clair ink onto the background paper before adhering to a panel of cardstock slightly smaller than my card blank.

Next I have adhered the seafloor to the bottom of the design and Coral in the centre of the card.

I have then taken a piece of acetate slightly wider than my card panel and wrapped this around the left hand edge adhering with strong tape to the back of the design panel - this way the acetate wont be seen at the back of the card but will look like a cover to the card.

I have then added the design panel with its acetate overlay to the front of my card base and then used glue to adhere the 3 extra fish to the top surface of the acetate.

When the card is stood up or laid flat it looks as though the little fish are swimming in front of the mermaid who is in the background.  Such as easy but really effective design.

Just a touch of clear sparkle pen was added to the image on the mermaid's tail and the goldfish to make it a little bit more magical.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.

I Love Promarkers #540 - Use dies Sponsored by Hetty Clare Art

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Wednesday! I hope that you are having a lovely week.

I'm on my blog today for the new bi-weekly I Love Promarkers blog challenge , it would be wonderful if you joined us over there if you love to colour with alcohol markers and don't forget there are prizes up for grabs.

You can find all of the rules and details for the challenge over on the blog.

This challenge is being sponsored by Hetty Clare who is a new designer to me and I have to say I am loving the designs in the shop - I would recommend taking a look as there is something for everyone!

Here is my inspiration card for the current blog challenge with the theme - Use Dies. As I am still in Christmas in July mode I chose to you a sweet image called The Poinsettia  I love these beautiful plants - not just at Christmas ans I love the different colours of the leaves...we have a small one growing outside in our garden here in Spain.

Next I used one of my newer dies to cut out the image and cut the scalloped frame - I cut the frame in Kraft card too.
I decided to use a 6" x 6" Kraft card blank and began by adding a layer of red & white striped paper - This is actually from an envelope that I saved last Christmas as I loved it and knew it would come in handy this year.  I love the look of Red and Kraft together for Christmas projects.

The sweet image was resized in my graphics software before printing out onto alcohol marker friendly card and colouring with my Promarkers (see below for colours )

For anyone interested I like to use Transotype Perfect Colouring Paper for all of my digital images that I am going to colour with Promarkers.

Next I use a beautiful poinsettia die & 3D embossing folder to create the large poinsettia for my card, layering this up to fit my design and adding just a touch of gold gilding wax to highlight the leaves.

Don't be afraid to cut into your die cuts to suit your project !
To finish off the card I have added a heat embossed and die cut sentiment and scattered some gold confetti around the design.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card for today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the I Love Markers blog

A Gift Just for You with Amanda Jayne Designs

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Sunday !

I'm back today to share another Christmas project for Amanda Jayne Designs

I chose to use the super cute penguin coloured printable - called Gift Penguin again as I think he is just the sweetest little chap and I couldn't resist - I've made three cards actually but you'll have to wait to see the third card next Saturday!

For my second card I decided to print out one of the smaller of the images from the set and create a portrait A6 (UK size) card

I have created a snowy background for him blending two distress inks to create the sky and then added snow using a stencil, stencil paste and glitter dust.

For the snowy hills I chose one of the papers from the Mint Christmas collection for the snowy hills and a hillside die.

The little penguin was fussy cut out and then added to the background using foam tape and I have added a sentiment from the Christmas Sentiments set at the bottom of my design

To finish off my card I have added some sparkly glitter over the falling snow across the image and just a little on the ground beneath the image.

I really hope that you like my card today and it would be lovely if you you leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Always look for Rainbows with Pink Gem Designs

Hello everyone and a happy Saturday... I hope that you have a lovely weekend.

We went to the cinema yesterday to watch a film - I had a gift voucher to spend from my birthday but hopefully the weekend will be a quiet one after our visitors and the heat, sleeping at night hasn't been easy this week and I'm terrible if I don't get my 10 hours!

It's been so hot here lately and the garden is really struggling with no rain in sight so for todays card I thought I'd make a rainy day card - definitely wishful. thinking

Here is my latest card made for for Pink Gem Designs using the very sweet Rainy Day Bunnies Digital Stamp Set

It's a beautiful set of digital stamps and includes 6 black line art images and 2 sentiments for you to use.  There is also a pre-coloured version if you prefer.

It's a simple one layer card A6 (UK Size).  The image was resized to fit the panel with one of the coordinating sentiments from the set at the bottom of the panel.

I've altered the sentiment to blue font as I thought this might encourage the rain to arrive too!

The Bunnies were coloured with my Promarkers and then I have used a rainbow stencil with distress inks for the background.

The final addition to the card was some clear stencil paste added with a raindrop stencil and some clear sparkle for the puddle beneath the image.

I really hope that you like my card today and it would be lovely if you you leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Sending Festive Hugs with AmandaJayneDesigns

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Friday! I hope that you all had a great week and have a lovely weekend planned.

I'm very excited today to be sharing my first project for Amanda Jayne Designs and as its July and all about crafters making our Christmas cards and Projects, for my first cards I chose to use a super cute penguin coloured printable - called Gift Penguin

I thought that a circular card would be a great shape with this image so used my circular dies to create a round card base and then used the smaller dies to cut out my base layer of the image which I have added to the card base.

I added just a touch of distress ink to the sky portion of the design.

Next I fussy cut three extra layers of the design and have added these to the image for extra dimension using foam squares.

Finally I have used glossy accents to the beak and feet and Sparkly glitter over the snow and on the ground beneath the image.

For extra interest  I have chosen one of the papers from the Mint Christmas paper collection and used this to cover the envelope flap and added a circle of the same paper to the inside of the card.

I really hope that you like my card today and it would be lovely if you you leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
