Digi Choosday - Wednesdays - Christmas Adult birthday with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday...

It's that time of the week when we share some inspiration for the current 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in.  We've had a few changes to the blog challenge and its now a month long challenge and you can enter up to 4 times.  The design team will still be sharing weekly inspiration for you all

and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is to create a Christmas birthday card for an adult.  I've always felt quite sorry for anyone with a birthday at Christmas as I think far too often their celebration gets lumped in with Christmas so I'm pleased mine is in July.  This card will be winging its way over to the UK for my cousins birthday at the end of December.

Because we have been so busy lately with the olives and I haven't had much time for crafting, I decided for my card today to use one of the gorgeous pre-coloured images poinsettia swags from the Poinsettia Wreath bundle.

In my graphics software, I started with a piece of digital paper from the Jolly Santa collection, resizing this to suit a 5" x 7" or A7 card blank.  Next I added the poinsettia swag, resizing to suit the panel and also added one of the sentiments from the new Theo Penguin collection.  To create extra dimension I decided to print out two extra poinsettias and then fussy cut these out, adding to my design using 3D glue gel.

The panel was layered onto gold mirri card and I then splattered gold and silver metallic watercolour paint over the design.

To finish off my card I added some stickles to the centre of the flowers for a little extra sparkle.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.

New Release - Snowy Days - Theo Penguin - with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Sunday I hope that your having a good weekend.

I hope you have heard the news already in your VIP email from Polkadoodles but if not then you are going to love this - everyone's favourite penguin Theo is back in a brand new collection of adorable images.....and for a limited time there is a 45% discount.

The brand new Snowy Days collection is perfect for all of those Winter celebrations, definitely not just for Christmas! and is packed with 28 adorable characters, icy scenes, and snowy designs—perfect for Christmas, Winter birthdays, and seasonal celebrations.

The collection includes colouring pages, pre-coloured clipart, greeting stamps, paper patterns and more for card making, digital scrapbooking, junk journals, and printable craft stickers.

There's loads of inspiration from the Polkadoodles Design team on the website in the gallery if you are looking for more ideas

Today I'm sharing my first card  perfect for all those Winter celebrations and very easy to create.  It's an adorable and super sparkly A6 landscape (UK size) card.

I've used one of the wonderful wintery scenes from the collection, resizing this for my card before printing out.  Then I have added a peice of double sided sticky sheet over the entire background before covering with super sparkly fine glitter.

Its an old bit magical technique called the Cracked Ice technique and perfect for those hoards of glitter that I'm sure we all have!  If you want a demonstration of this technique then there is a great YouTube video from 3 years ago by Jamie Rodgers that's worth a watch - here is the link

Once the background scene was complete and all the glitter completely burnished onto the card I adhered this panel to my card blank.  Theo with his ice cream was resized and printed out onto alcohol friendly card before colouring with my Promarkers (see below for colours) and then fussy cutting out by hand.

I added a die cute frame of silver mirri card to the card before adhering Theo at the bottom of the scene with foam tape for dimension.

The winter sentiment was layered onto more silver mirri card and added to the top left corner of the card.

The finishing touches were some white gelly roll pen highlights to Theo.  A super simple and very sparkly Winter card.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from the new Snowy Days collection by Polkadoodles.

A Snowflake is a Winter's Butterfly with JMC Designs

Hello everyone Happy Monday I hope that you had a great weekend.  It's time for me to post my next project for JMC Designs

For my card today I have used the Winter Whispers Digital Collection... It's still officially Winter here and I can just about see the snow on the Sierra Nevada but the temperatures have been more like early summer and the snow is disappearing fast.

Still chilly in the evenings and were making use of the log burner but its definitely not cold!

For todays card I decided to use the beautiful digital stamp  Arctic Sparkle, resizing her  to suit my 5" x 7" card and colouring with my Promarkers.  Iv'e added lots of sparkly highlights and shimmer to this Wintery girl.

Next I created my background panel, I've used the snowflake accessories that are included in the complete collection, adding these to my card panel before printing on my LaserJet printer.  To add sparkle I've then used teal foil for added sparkle.

Once foiled I then used several distress inks to add colour to the panel and then splattered with water droplets and droplets of blue distress ink.

As well as looking beautiful, the foil acts as a resist to the ink and gives a beautiful shine to the card.

The sentiment from the complete collection was also printed out and foiled in silver

I have added little sparkles around the panel with a white gel pen and adhered a few sparkly gems.

The background panel was mounted onto silver mirror card, along with the sentiment and then adhered to a white card base and the coloured focal image adhered using foam tape for dimension.

I added some of the tiny gems to the bottom of her skirt too, to tie in with the background.

I really hope that you like my card today and it would be lovely if you you leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday.  Wishing you all a lovely day today and that you enjoy the week ahead.

The theme set for the DT this week is Santa / North Pole & Colours of Christmas and we were given this colour palette to use.

I love making Christmas cards using non traditional colours so really enjoyed this challenge.

For todays card I decided to use one of the fabulous older images from the Winnie Winter land collection of digital stamps.  There are some absolutely gorgeous digital stamps and a great selection of pre-coloured craft sheets too if you prefer not to colour.

Its a simple 5" x 7" card with a scalloped frame of magenta glitter card, keeping the scene the main focus of my card.

I coloured the image with Promarkers (see below for colours) and then blended distress inks over the background to create a  wintery North Pole sky.

The sentiment was printed onto vellum so it wouldn't detract from the scene and adhered into the top corner of my design.

I have a very special DT discount code that you can use for all your shopping on the Polkadoodles online shop at checkout use WENDYJ-10 and you will get 10% of your entire purchase (not in conjunction with other discount codes!)

A Passion for Markers BlogSpot Challenge #707 - Pink or Blue

Hello and a happy Tuesday to you all !

Oh my goodness after about 4 days working on and off, we've managed to pack up all of our stuff out of the craft room/study and relocated it into the spare rooms, plus a load of stuff scattered all over! I really must de-stash when its being put back into my room....and the bathroom has been cleared so were ready for the work to start.

I have to say its a good job no one is coming to visit anytime soon...๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…
Today I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge.

This weeks challenge is being sponsored by Dies to Die For  there are loads of lovely goodies and some fabulous brands available in the store so I would highly recommend taking a look.

The theme this week chosen by Linda for Team 2 is Pink or Blue.

I chose to use a sweet image from Pink Gem Designs called Yeti which is a great set of 12 digital stamps including, trees, mountains, footprints and a sentiment.

It had to be a Pink Yeti for me - they always seem to be blues and greys!

Don't forget there will be a prize for the Winner of the challenge - there are more details over on the Passion for Markers blog.

I decided to make an a6 (UK size) simple snowy scene card today using a piece of pink snowflake paper from my stash and white glitter cardstock for the snowy hills.

I have added pink distress ink to the designer paper and die cut the glitter card with a hillside border die.  The sentiment was stamped in dark pink ink and I have coloured the yeti with my promarkers before fussy cutting out and adhering onto the card with foam tape.

To finish off my design I have adhered some pink confetti around the design

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !
