Digi Choosday - Bella Bear Christmas - Christmas in July - Not a Card - Christmas rosettes with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you are having a good week....My goodness the heat has been so high here now for weeks...I cant really imagine it getting much hotter but its only the first week of July !

It's that time of the week to share some more inspiration for our current 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing Digi Choosday discount off all crafty printable downloads!

The theme set for the DT this week is to create something to celebrate Christmas in July but not a card - hmm....that got me thinking but I'm up for a challenge.

I decided to make a little home décor for Christmas so created 3 little Christmas rosettes 

I chose to use the Bella Bear Christmas collection for my sweet and easy project today.

I chose 2 snowflake papers, one is from the Bella Bear Christmas collection and the other is from the Gingerbread Holly collection

I decided to create 3 rosettes, the larger one is made from 2" wide strips of paper, I cut 2 each measuring 2" x 11".  The smaller two rosettes are using 1 1/2" strips, cutting 4 strips measuring 1 1/2" x 11".

Each strip of paper was scored at 1/2" all the way along and concertina folded, then I have joined 2 strips together with wet glue to form loops.  I die cut 4 small circles of card and then used these on the backs of each rosette applying hot glue and holding each in shape while drying.

Once the rosettes were formed I added some cream twine to each so they could be hung from a tree at Christmas but they would make perfect gift tags too for special presents.  

Next I chose 2 pre-coloured ephemera images and one of the pre-coloured Bella Bear images, printing each one out twice. 

I die cute the image, layered onto die cut card and then used the hot glue to adhere these to the rosettes.

I then fussy cut out the images again and layered these onto the bottom image with foam tape.

The finishing touches were some sparkly stickles on each image and glossy accents onto Bella's nose and the holly berries.

I'm really pleased how these turned out and I'll definitely be making some more for this Christmas.

Christmas in July - 'Tis the Season - Bella Bear Christmas with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone wishing you all a happy Monday and Happy July!  IT's my son's 27th birthday today too and that's made me feel very old indeed today.

Did someone say  its July ? 

Well then it must be time for 'Christmas in July' !!!  

No I'm not going potty but its that time of year again when crafters all around the world have fun sharing Christmas in July projects - plus its only 6 months to go....eek 

I'm here today to share one of my Christmas cards using the fabulous Bella Bear Christmas Collection by Polkadoodles 

Bella Bear is one of my favourite characters and I think she is just perfect for those Christmas Projects - It's a fun collection of digital stamps, pre-coloured and black and white for you to colour !

This is a  smaller A2 (US size) card which I have created.  I choose a paper from the collection with turquoise stripes and red hearts and added a strip of this on the left hand side of my design panel in my graphics software.  Next I resized Bella Bear with her Big Gift, adding her over the top of the paper strip and chose one of the sentiments from the collection adding this into the top right corner before printing out onto alcohol marker friendly cardstock.

I added sparkly glitter to Bella's hat fur and pompom and a white gel pen highlights.

Ho Ho Ho - Bella Bear Christmas with Polkadoodles

Hello and happy Friday everyone...... 3 More Sleeps !

I'm back today to share one of my Christmas cards using the fabulous Bella Bear Christmas Collection by Polkadoodles 

If you are in need of a quick card, I always seem to need the odd one or two last minutes ones ! then why not have a look at the pre-coloured images that are available in this collection. They are super cute and wonderfully coloured by Nikky Hall of Polkadoodles

Today's card  is a 6" x 6" Joy Fold card.   I used several of the fabulous papers from the collection to cover the panels of the card.

For the main image of Bella Bear which is a pre-coloured image today called Reindeer Dress up, I resized and added this to one of the digital papers along with one of he sentiments. 

One the inside flap of the card I added another of the sentiments matting with red glitter card. 

 

Just for extra fun I added the same image of Bella inside the card with a fussy cut out sentiment.

She looks like shes been dressed up and isn't too happy about it really - how embarrassing being a reindeer!

 

I've used a small square of brown glitter card on the inside and added Bella on foam tape for dimension.

The finishing touches were card candii with  glossy accents and glossy accents on Bella's nose.

Christmas Wishes - Bella Bear Christmas with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone wishing you all a happy Thursday! 

I'm back today to share one of my Christmas cards using the fabulous Bella Bear Christmas Collection by Polkadoodles 

Bella Bear is just perfect I think for all of your Christmas Projects - It's a fun collection of digital stamps, pre-coloured and black and white for you to colour !

This is a 5 x 7 card which I have created with some simple mat and layering using one of the beautiful papers from the collection and a coordinating aqua cardstock, I've also die cut a frame from the the aqua card to add detail to the design.

The Bella image was resized to suit the card design and then coloured with my promarkers before fussy cutting out and adhering to the card with foam tape for dimension.

I added sparkly twinkles to the white fur of Bella's outfit, glossy accents to the star, a few coordinating sequins and a white gel pen to add highlights and details to the image.

The sentiment is from the bundle and has been die cut using a stitched edge wavy border die

New Release Bella Bear - Beary Christmas with Polkadoodles

Hello and happy Sunday everyone - Just a quick post from me today as we our busy picking our olives and I have to get back to work - hopefully another day and it will all be done!  Then were on to pruning ready for our first burn in around a months time!!!

I'm back today on my blog to share of my cards using the fabulous new Bella Bear Beary Christmas Collection by Polkadoodles

Isn't Bella Bear such a sweetheart and its perfect for all of your Christmas Projects - Its a fun collection of digital stamps, pre-coloured and black and white for you to colour !

There are beautiful  coordinating papers and sentiments too - the difficult part is what to use first.

For todays card I have used one of the pre-coloured images with a small strip of a paper from the collection and a fun - super sized sentiment.

This is a larger 5 x 7 card which I have created starting with the main image and the sentiment which I have printed to fill the card.

Next I have blended distress ink lightly over the background and then used silver an blue metallic paint to splatter across the design. Don't forget even the pre-printed images can be turned into cards that look really arty and have taken ages to create.

Next I have added two strips of red glitter card that I have die cut with a stitched wavy border die, adding these to the top and bottom of the paper strip.

To give the card lots more dimension, I have printed out the same Bella Bear two more times and used these to decoupage onto my base panel, simple fussy cutting and mounting on foam squares.

I have added twinkly glitter to Bella's hat and added some glossy accents to her nose, the holly berries and the Christmas tree on her jumper.

The entire design panel has been mat and layered with red glitter card stock - its is for Christmas after all.

New Release - Bella Bear Christmas - Poinsettia Flowers with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone wishing you all a happy Sunday I hope you are enjoying the weekend.

I'm back today to share another card using the fabulous new Bella Bear Christmas  release by Polkadoodles

This is a 5" x 5" easel card which folds flat for posting.

The Bella image was resized in my graphics software to suit the card design and coloured with my promarkers

I also printed out one of the digital sentiments from the collection and several of the coordinating papers to decorate my card.

This is a 5 x 7  card with a frame die cut from one of the papers in the collection layered onto the base card.

The Bella image was resized in my graphics software to suit the card design and I have also added one of the digital sentiments and two strips of the digital paper at the bottom of the panel, before printing out and colouring with my promarkers.  The design panel has been adhered to the card with foam tape for dimension.

Just a few highlights with a white gel pen, glossy accents and sparkly glitter to finish off the card.

New Release - Bella Bear Christmas - Christmas Tree with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone wishing you all a happy Friday and I'm so excited to share the news of a fabulous new release by Polkadoodles launched today!

This is a 5 x 7 faux stepper card (my favourite design at the moment) which I have created with some green cardstock and layered with two of the beautiful papers from the collection.  I used one of my Christmas tree dies to cut two trees from the same cardstock as the base and added these to either side of the card, adding gold confetti to both trees for the baubles.

The snowy bank has been die cut from white Lisa Horton Crafts Euphoria card and is super sparkly.

I chose one of the wonderful sentiments from the collection and mat and layered this to match the card, adhering to the top right corner of the card.

A Passion for Markers BlogSpot Anniversary Challenge #691 Anything Goes

Hello and a happy Tuesday to you all !

I'm here today to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and its a special Anniversary challenge.

This weeks challenge is being sponsored by 9 wonderful and very generous sponsors.

I couldn't resist using one of my favourite little bears Bella from Polkadoodles for this week and you all know how much I love a cactus. This digital stamp actually came as a limited edition stamp when I bought the Happy Cactus collection but there are loads of other Bella Bear digital stamps available.

I decided to make a Joy fold card today to show off the pretty papers that I've used from the latest Noodle the Panda release by Polkadoodles as I thought they complimented my coloured image really well.

My sentiment is stamped in Versafine Clair ink using a stamp from a set by Mama Elephant called Up and Away and I've used some green distress ink to colour the white card to co-ordinate with my papers and the image.

This sweet image of Bella was coloured with my Promarkers (see below for colours used) before being fussy cut out.  I used a stitched heart die  to cut a heart from green mulberry paper and used a floral embossing folder to give added detail and texture to this heart.

The small heart border strips are Washi tape that I've had in my crafty stash for ages and just 3 pieces of Candi were added to finish off my card.

Bella Bear Morning Coffee Digi Deal with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone Happy Wednesday...I hope the week is going well.

I'm back today to share a very quick card that I've made with the pre-coloured Bella Bear Morning Coffee digital download from Polkadoodles

The digital set includes 2 digital stamps, 1 line art and one is pre-coloured, a matching sentiment and 4 coordinating papers and is on a fabulous digi deal offer at the moment in the Polkadoodles store so don't miss out.

For this very simple card I've added the Bella Bear image to the teal spotty digital paper on my computer in my graphics software and then printed this out before adding this to an A6 (UK size) card blank.  

I also printed and cut out an additional Bella image, cutting out the coffee cup, bow and her head to decoupage onto the flat panel, using foam squares.

The digital sentiment at the bottom of the card has been die cut using a wavy border die and I mounted this on foam tape for dimension.

Just a little clear sparkle has been added to the image, glossy accents on the flower and some contrasting sequins added around the design.
