Happy Holidays - Bella Bears Christmas with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone wishing you all a happy  Friday - I hope that the week has been good and you are looking forward to a lovely weekend.

We are off for lunch today with friends and I'm really looking forward to it - proper Fish & Chips, which is fairly hard to come by over here in Spain - I do hope they have mushy peas!

I'm back today on my blog to share of my cards using the fabulous new Bella Bear Christmas Collection by Polkadoodles

This is Gingerbread Bella Bear and it's a real cutie as I'm sure you will agree.

Bella Bear is just perfect I think for all of your Christmas Projects - It's a fun collection of digital stamps, pre-coloured and black and white for you to colour !

This is an A6 landscape card which I have created by using distress inks to create a snowy background sky, splattered with silver metallic paint and water droplets.

I used a hillside border die to cut a couple of simple sparkly hills from glitter cardstock and adhered these to the bottom of the card panel.

The Bella and gingerbread image was resized to suit the card design and printed out onto alcohol marker friendly cardstock before colouring with my promarkers and fussy cutting out.

I have added the coloured image slightly offset onto the snowy scene using foam tape and then adhered the fussy cut sentiment to the top right hand of the card.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from the new Bella Bear Christmas Collection by Polkadoodles.

I tried to be good with Last Minute Manda and #byshcsketchchallenge37

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Thursday!....Just a quick post from me this morning as I have some weeding to get on with in the garden and its far too noisy inside the house as the builders are getting on with installing a new insulated and suspended ceiling in the craft room/study - awful and dusty but it will be worth it I know once it's completed.

Today I'm sharing another cute Christmas card that I've made for Last Minute Manda  using the Bah Humbug set of digital stamps.

I've again used the September Sketch 37 in the @byshcardmakers (Build Your Stash Holiday Card makers) Facebook Group. These sketches make it really easy to put together quick and beautiful cards which is important for all those Christmas cards.

I've turned the sketch through 90 degrees this time to make a portrait card following the sketch and I've used papers from my hoard of Christmas papers.  They were freebies with a craft magazine many years ago and I found them whilst packing up my craft room for all the work we are having done.  It's amazing what you can find!

Just a little co-ordinating sequins to add some sparkle to the design.

If you head over to the new Last Minute Manda store font forget to use my special discount code Wendy25 to get 25% off your shopping.

I really hope that you like my card today and it would be lovely if you you leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

I Love Promarkers #543 - Add a Bow Sponsored by CFL Digi Designs

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Wednesday! I hope that you are having a lovely week.

I'm on my blog today for the new bi-weekly I Love Promarkers blog challenge , it would be wonderful if you joined us over there if you love to colour with alcohol markers and don't forget there are prizes up for grabs.

You can find all of the rules and details for the challenge over on the blog.

This challenge is being sponsored by CFL Digi Designs one of our amazing and very talented teamies.

Here is my inspiration card for the current blog challenge with the theme - Add a Bow, using one of the beautiful images from the A little Coffee set.

There's something so calming about the image that I loved and whats better than a cup of coffee when you are having one of those days - especially with a good friend.

I don't tend to colour more realistic images like this one but I'm really pleased with the result and it was good to challenge myself too to try something different.

It's a larger 5 " x 7" card and to start off I created an inky background using distress inks and a coffee ring stencil. Just some simple ink smooshing and splattering and then I have used the stencil to add the coffee rings and extra splashes.

Next I added the digital sentiment which I think is perfect for this card to my resized image in my graphics software and then printed it out onto alcohol marker friendly card stock before colouring with my promarkers.  This panel was then cut out with a stitched frame die and I created a mat layer from white card adding the same distress ink around the edge of the panel.

Once everything was completely dry I've assembled the card add some red recycled string around the base panel and adding a simple little bow in the corner.  I don't normally use bows on my cards these days so wanted to keep it very simple but I thought the splash of red works well with the blue and brown colour palette.

To finish off my card I have added some rose gold confetti around the design

I really hope that you like my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the I Love Markers blog

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Digi Choosday - Autumn Colours with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday.  Wishing you all a lovely day today and that you enjoy the week ahead, I hope that you have something nice planned.

It's that time of the week when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is Autumn Colours which are probably my favourite colours in the garden and in the surrounding mountains where we live.

For todays card I decided to use one of the fabulous digi deals Mr Sox the Fox - he is just the cutest fox I think and the digi deal is such great value as it includes a black and white version, 2 pre-coloured images, 6 papers and 2 sentiments.

I wanted to make a 5 x 7" popup frame card - I'm loving these at the moment as they are so easy to make and create perfect little scenes.  This time I have created a landscape version.

For the pop up element I have used a piece of rust coloured cardstock measuring 5 " x 10", to match the Autumn theme for my project, scoring this along the long edge at 1/2", 1 1/2" & 2" on both ends.

There is a great tutorial on YouTube tutorial by Jennifer McGuire, showing how to make these make a popup up frame cards.   If you haven't seen the video here is the link.

I know lots of crafters who don't like to colour digital or stamped images, for lots of different reasons and I wanted to show that you can make some really beautiful cards with the pre-coloured digital images and a little fussy cutting and layering/ decoupage.

The aperture in the frame part of the card was cut using a couple of nesting dies and I used the leafy pattern paper from the digi Deal to cover the frame

Once my base card was created it was time for some inky fun!

I wanted to add lots of Autumn colours to the leafy pattern paper for the background inside the panel and also for lots of leaves so I used 5 of my distress inks to blend colour and then used the same inks to splatter drops of colour all over the paper.

You can see the difference it makes in this photo - just don't add too much water.

I also used my leaf stamps from Polkadoodles to stamp lots of leaves in brown ink before fussy cutting these out, lots of fussy cutting but I find it very relaxing!

For my main Fox image for the scene, I used the pre-coloured image adding a smaller fox in front of Mr Sox in my graphics software on my computer, printing this out 3 times as I wanted to decoupage the foxes for extra dimension.  I also printed out the Autumn sentiment from the Halloween Trick or Treat collection and stamped Sunshine in brown ink below this.

I also die cut two trees from the same rust coloured cardstock and adhered these onto the background, inside the card panel.

The foxes were adhered to a thin strip of acetate which is glued into the popup mechanisms on either side of the frame, so the foxes appear in the foreground and then I have adhered my fussy cut out leaves and the sentiment panel to finish my Autumn woodland scene.

I love all the texture and dimension that the distress inks have added to the background and the leaves - just like autumn leaves on the trees.

And the best part is the entire card folds flat for posting!

To finish off the card I added just a few pieces of co-ordinating confetti and some glossy accents to the foxes noses.

I have a very special DT discount code that you can use for all your shopping on the Polkadoodles online shop at checkout use WENDYJ-10 and you will get 10% of your entire purchase (not in conjunction with other discount codes!)

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.

A Passion for Markers BlogSpot Challenge #707 - Pink or Blue

Hello and a happy Tuesday to you all !

Oh my goodness after about 4 days working on and off, we've managed to pack up all of our stuff out of the craft room/study and relocated it into the spare rooms, plus a load of stuff scattered all over! I really must de-stash when its being put back into my room....and the bathroom has been cleared so were ready for the work to start.

I have to say its a good job no one is coming to visit anytime soon...๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…
Today I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge.

This weeks challenge is being sponsored by Dies to Die For  there are loads of lovely goodies and some fabulous brands available in the store so I would highly recommend taking a look.

The theme this week chosen by Linda for Team 2 is Pink or Blue.

I chose to use a sweet image from Pink Gem Designs called Yeti which is a great set of 12 digital stamps including, trees, mountains, footprints and a sentiment.

It had to be a Pink Yeti for me - they always seem to be blues and greys!

Don't forget there will be a prize for the Winner of the challenge - there are more details over on the Passion for Markers blog.

I decided to make an a6 (UK size) simple snowy scene card today using a piece of pink snowflake paper from my stash and white glitter cardstock for the snowy hills.

I have added pink distress ink to the designer paper and die cut the glitter card with a hillside border die.  The sentiment was stamped in dark pink ink and I have coloured the yeti with my promarkers before fussy cutting out and adhering onto the card with foam tape.

To finish off my design I have adhered some pink confetti around the design

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog
