GDT - Ay Ay Ay Ay - Happy Birthday to you with Dr. Digi's House Of Stamps

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Thursday !

I'm super excited today as I was invited to create a card for Dr Digis House of Stamps for a Guest Design Team spot.  I absolutely love these quirky and sometimes cheeky digital stamps so as you can imagine I jumped at the chance !

This is a landscape 5" x 7" bridge fold card and I chose to use one of the newer digital stamps Tres Hombres for my project today.

I'm still on a mission making more male themed cards and I thought this Mariachi group would be perfect.  I had the famous mariachi song Ay Ay Ay Ay Cielito Lindo playing through my mind as soon as I saw this fun image... I dare you to listen...you'll be humming it all day I promise.

I started by creating my base card from red cardstock. Cutting a piece of card 9" x 5" and scoring at 1" & 2" on each long edge.   I also cut the bridge section in red card at 7" x 1 1/4"

I wanted to create a small 'stage' for my mariachi band to stand on so used some wood plank paper from my stage to cover the bridge section and the internal walls of the stage.

For the rear panel and the outside panels I used a fabulous Aztec digital backing paper from Dr.Digi   I think the paper resembles lots of Mexican hats and the colours were perfect for my design.

I then resized the digital image and chose a sentiment from the birthday sentiment sheet 01  before printing out and colouring with promarkers.

Once coloured I fussy cut the band and also the sentiment after using my Minc machine to apply gold foil to the sentiment.  The Mariachi band were adhered to the front of the wooden stage and I added a piece of acetate behind to support the image.  I die cut the letters, stacking them up for dimension and adding red sparkly pen over the top before adhering them to the bottom of the stage.

The finishing touches were some white gel pen highlights and some gold confetti around the design.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and don't forget to listen to the music too !

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Wednesday!

I'm on my blog today for the new bi-weekly I Love Promarkers blog challenge , it would be wonderful if you joined us over there if you love to colour with alcohol markers and don't forget there are prizes up for grabs.

You can find all of the rules and details for the challenge over on the blog.

This fortnight long challenge is being sponsored by Colour of Love

Here is my inspiration card for the current blog challenge with the theme - Use pink, blue & yellow, so the primary colours, using this very sweet digital stamp of this sleepy little bee in the flower.  This is Sleepy time Buzlee

Its such a sweet card and perfect for the chosen colour palette.  This is an A7 or 5" x 7" card and I started by resizing the digital image and adding a sentiment to the bottom of the panel before printing out and colouring with
promarkers (see below for colours).

Next I used some distress ink and a cloud stencil to create a simple background.

I used a scalloped die to cut a frame from pink card stock and then assembled my card, matting the design panel on a panel of sky blue card.

To add dimension I used foam square to adhere the scalloped frame.

The finishing touches were white, gelly roll pen highlights, clear sparkle to the little bee's wings and some clear iridescent sequins around the design.

I really hope that you like my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the I Love Markers blog

Flowers - No Pink- circular Easel Card - Butterfly Flowerpots - Digi Choosday - Be Simply Beautiful with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday.  I hope that you have a lovely day today and that you enjoy your week ahead...

It's that time of the week when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is to create a card with flowers but to use no pink!

I started off by creating a circular easel card with a deep purple card stock and then used one of the gorgeous blue papers from the Helga Hippo collection to mat and layer onto the bottom of the easel.

Next I resized the beautiful Butterfly Flowerpots image to fit the easel and then printed this out onto alcohol friendly card stock.

I coloured the image with promarkers to match the purple card and blue paper and then used one of the dies to cut out the panel.  I blended a little blue distress ink around the edge of the panel and then adhered it to my easel card.

The sentiment from the Lilybug collection was printed out onto card, layered on to the same purple card and then adhered to act as the stopper for the easel so it stands up.

For extra detail I printed out two of the pre-coloured butterflies from the Helga Hippo ephemera bundle, fussy cutting these out and adhered to the card so that the wings are lifted off the design.

Finishing touches where some shiny teal confetti and white gel pen highlights.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles

Enjoy the rest of your day !
