Bloom where you are planted - Fruitropolis Collection with Julia McNeill Designs

Hello everyone Happy Friday !

Today we are off into town for the day as its our town Feria so fingers crossed for the weather - we've had a few lovely cooler days and even a little rain but it's forecast to be 33 today so good timing for the festivities

I hope that you have all had a great week and have something nice planned for the weekend.

Today I'm sharing a project for JMC Designs  that I've created one of the stamps from the Fruitropolis stamp collection - The Orangery and one of the stencils from the Stencil Suite collection

It's quite a clean and simple card and would be great for lots of occasions I think.

I decided to create a one layer card - apart from the sentiment so started off by lightly adhering the Club stencil to a piece of 6" x 6" card stock, I then used the tree stamp from the Orangery set and stamped this 3 times into the centre of the stencil - the middle one was stamped first and then I masked this off to stamp the other two trees.

Leaving the stencil in place I used distress inks to create a cloudy sky, green for the grass and a little brown for the trunk of the Club tree.  I used the tiny little diamond stamp to create a little path.
I used distress inks to watercolour the trees and then finished off adding white highlights to the tree.  I outlined the club tree using a black Fineliner pen, added green coordinating sequins and then stamped the sentiment which is in the Pear Place set matting this onto black card before adding to the card. The doodled border was drawn onto the card panel before adding this to my card blank with a mat layer of black card

I do hope that you like my card for today and Id love it if you'd leave me a comment.

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog - Guest Designer - All Occasions - Polkadoodles - Helga Hippo

Hello everyone happy Thursday ... I hope that your week has gone well so far...not long to go now until the weekend.

I'm back again to share my final card as Guest Chick for the month of September for the Krafty Chicks, its gone so fast and I have had loads of fun with these weekly challenges!

Every Thursday there is a new challenge on the Krafty Chicks blog and this week the challenge is All Occasions.

You can check out all the rules over on the blog itself and it would be wonderful if you join in with the fun.

My card today is a 6" x 6" Triple point card using the Helga Hippo collection by Polkadoodles.  It's a really lovely and extremely simple card to make and perfect to show off those gorgeous papers.

I started by creating the card base from a standard 6" x 6" card blank, cutting off two sections from the front panel to create a point.  Next I have chosen a couple of papers from the collection to matt onto the card base.

I fussy cut the Helga hippo and some cupcakes from the ephemera bundle and then used these to decorate the card base.  For a bit of extra bling I foiled the sentiment in teal foil and added teal confetti around the design, along with glitter and some glossy accents to the flowers in her hat.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card for today and will drop by again to see my next project.

Sorry you're Leaving card - Scooting Around - Horace & Boo with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Monday I hope that your had a great weekend...We had a fairly quiet one as we were moving furniture around ready for the aircon unit fitting hopefully today so we'll be all set for the next heat which is due on Thursday this week !

Today I'm sharing a leaving card that I was asked to make - the request was that it included animals on it as the lady that is leaving has been heavily involved in looking after abandoned and stray animals in out town.

I wanted to make a larger 8" x8" card to give plenty of room for friends here to sign the card and I also wanted something fun so I chose one of the Horace & Boo images.  This is called Scooting around.

After resizing the image and printing out onto alcohol friendly cardstock, I coloured this with my Promarkers choosing a more retro palette for the scooter. Once coloured I fussy cut the image to mount onto the card with foam tape.

The background was created in my graphics software by adding a cloud paper from Winnie Fruit Punch and the green hills are plain papers from Happy Cactus collection.

The sentiment was added from my software before printing.

To finish off the card I die cut some little white clouds and added these for extra dimension.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.

Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog - Guest Designer - CAS - Colorado Craft Company - Stay Curious!

Hello everyone happy Thursday ... I hope that your week has gone well so far...not long to go now until the weekend.

I'm back again to share my third card as Guest Chick for the month of September for the Krafty Chicks.

Every Thursday there is a new challenge on the Krafty Chicks blog and this week the challenge is CAS or Clean and Simple.

You can check out all the rules over on the blog itself and it would be wonderful if you join in with the fun.

I really love the CAS style of card but I definitely find it a challenge - knowing when to stop adding things so here is my CAS card project and I hope that you like it!

My card today is a standard white landscape A6 card blank with a simple mat layer of a white card for the design panel.

The image of the cute little dog investigating the plant pot is drawn by Anita Jeram for Colorado Craft Company and its such a sweet image and perfect for a CAS card.

I stamped the image using a brown Versafine Clair ink to give a softer look to the image and then used distress inks to watercolour the image.  To add extra depth and details I've used a combination of coloured pencils and a white gelly roll pen.

The sentiment is also part of this little stamp set and also stamped this is brown ink....and that's it, no sparkle and no extras, definitely CAS.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card for today and will drop by again to see my next project.

Digi Choosday - Freddy Fox - Friendship and flowers with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday I hope that your having a good week so far.

Are you looking forward to Autumn ? I love all the seasons but the Autumn colours are my favourite and I adore the poppies that we get here although they tend to be in Spring.

It's that time of the week when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is to create a Friendship themed card so I decided to create a one layer
card using the fabulous and very cute Freddy Fox release..... I just love all the warm tones of Autumn so this is one of my favourite collections.

It's a very simple A6 card with the design panel mounted onto a layer of red card.  To create the image I started by adding the fox and poppy image to a panel in my graphics software (I've also flipped this through 90 for a different look and then added 3 little bees and the cute little duck to create my scene.  Finally I chose a friendship themed sentiment from the collection before printing on alcohol marker friendly cardstock and colouring with promarkers.

Just a few touches of clear sparkle were added to the little bees and I used yellow glossy drops to add details to the poppy stamens.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from the new Freddy the Fox Collection by
 Polkadoodles.

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Wednesday!

I'm on my blog today for the new bi-weekly I Love Promarkers blog challenge , it would be wonderful if you joined us over there if you love to colour with alcohol markers and don't forget there are prizes up for grabs.

You can find all of the rules and details for the challenge over on the blog.

This challenge is being sponsored by Last Minute Manda

Here is my inspiration card for the current blog challenge with the theme - Gnomes, using a sweet digital stamp from the set Gnome Friends in the garden

I decided for todays card I would make a new fun fold - this is a very simple  diamond gate fold card which I have created using an aqua cardstock.  The lovely papers are from a new Polkadoodles bundle Gnome feeding bird

It's a sweet and very easy card fold that fits into a standard C6 envelope when flat but also gives lots of space for using those lovely patterned papers.

For the main gnome image I resized this to suit my card size before printing out on alcohol marker friendly card stock and then colouring using Promarkers (see below for colours) and then fussy cutting out.

I added one of the sweet sentiments from the Polkadoodles Gnome set on the inside panel and printed another sentiment for the front of the card.

The finishing touches today were some clear sparkle pen on the snail shell, white gelly roll pen highlights and flowers and a scattering of tel confetti around the design.

I really hope that you like my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the I Love Markers blog

New Release - Gingerbread Cookie - Santa Cup with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Sunday I hope that your having a good weekend so far.

We've been in the garden starting to do a little tidying now its started to cool off which is lovely but there is so much to do to get the garden looking good again after the Summer - no rest for the wicked !

Have you started your Christmas cards yet ?  It's a busy time for most crafters but Nikky at Polkadoodles has knocked it out of the park again with this new Christmas Release so I am certain you will love it.  ITs the brand new Gingerbread Cookie release and as always there is currently a fabulous discount off the collection especially if you are a Polkadoodles VIP.

There are 10 different kits to choose from as well as 3D templates and loads of cooking themed SVGs if you use an electronic cutting machine. As well as the small kits which are excellent value you can also buy individual digital stamps.... I think the hardest part will be to choose what you need.

There's loads of inspiration from the Polkadoodles Design team on the website in the gallery if you are looking for some ideas

My first card using the collection is a new style of card that I have seen loads of recently on social media. Its called a Floating hexagon card and you are interested in making one of these cards then I can recommend watching the fabulous YouTube tutorial by Paul Ford watch here.  Its very easy to create and once you have got the hang of it, you can recreate it easily in different sizes to suit.

To create this card I've used a green card stock to coordinate with 2 of the papers from the collection.  The digital stamp is from the Candy Gingerbread kit.  I resized the main image, printing out onto alcohol marker friendly card before colouring with my promarkers and then fussy cutting out.

I also printed out some of the pre-coloured flowers and foliage and used these to decorate the card.

The finishing touches were some sparkle and glitter and glossy accents - it is for Christmas after all.
Its a fabulous card to display and it all folds flat into a 5" x 7" A7 envelope

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from the new Gingerbread Cookie collection by
 Polkadoodles.

Sending Love - Bumble Buzz Digital collection with Julia McNeill Designs

Hello everyone Happy Friday - Yay the best day of the week ! (and I'm retired lol)

I hope that you have all had a great week and have something nice planned for the weekend, hopefully we'll be wandering into town this evening for a few drinks at our favourite bar.

It's nearly the middle of September and Autumn is definitely here...the evenings are cooling off fast and the daytime temperatures are in the low to mid 30's so a lovely respite after the high temperatures of this Summer.

Today I'm sharing a project for JMC Designs  that I've created using the absolutely gorgeous Bumble Buzz Digital Collection.

The gorgeous digital collection contains
  • 15 Digital Stamps
  • 15 Pre Coloured Digital Stamps
  • 6 Ephemera Sheets
  • 5 Topper Sheets
  • 4 Sentiment Sheets
  • 23 papers.
and I think there's definitely something for everyone, if you love to colour or not.

For my card today I chose one of the gorgeous pre-coloured roses from the ephemera and the pink and brown striped paper.  I love making cute character based cards but sometimes we need a card that's less cutesy and this rose stem is perfect for a more grown up but still whimsical look.

I wanted an Autumn flavoured card so have teamed this with some lovely chocolate brown satin card using one of my dies to cut a scalloped frame for my DL card.

I blended a little pink distress ink onto a white DL panel and then used some pink metallic watercolour to splatter across this panel.

Next I fussy cut the rose stem from the ephemera in the collection and then added this to the card using some 3D silicone glue gel for dimension.  The sentiment is a simple word die that I have layered chocolate card and white card on top to give a drop shadow.

The finishing touches were some drops of glossy accents on the petals and leaves, to resemble water droplets and a few pieces of rose confetti.

I do hope that you like my card for today and Id love it if you'd leave me a comment.

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog - Guest Designer - Christmas - Polkadoodles - Lucy Monkman - All Hearts come home for Christmas

Hello everyone happy Thursday ... I hope that your week has gone well so far...not long to go now until the weekend.

I'm back again to share my second card as Guest Chick for the month of September for the Krafty Chicks.

Every Thursday there is a new challenge on the Krafty Chicks blog and this week the challenge is Christmas.

You can check out all the rules over on the blog itself and it would be wonderful if you join in with the fun.

So here is my Christmas card project and I hope that you like it!

My card today is a standard white portrait or tent fold UK A6 card blank with a simple mat layer of a purple glitter cardstock.

The image is by Polkadoodles from the Lucy Monkman collection and these images are some of my favourites - I love how simple they are and really eye catching - something very different and also very clean and simple.  The images are so easy to colour they are perfect for batch making at Christmas using different colour ways for completely different looks.  What could be easier?

I resized the sweet dog sitting on parcels digital stamp and added a digital sentiment to the design panel before printing out onto alcohol marker friendly card stock and colouring with my promarkers.

I added a little white gelly roll dots to the parcels  and then adhered the panel to the card blank.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card for today and will drop by again to see my next project.
