New Release - Gingerbread Cookie - Santa Cup with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Sunday I hope that your having a good weekend so far.

We've been in the garden starting to do a little tidying now its started to cool off which is lovely but there is so much to do to get the garden looking good again after the Summer - no rest for the wicked !

Have you started your Christmas cards yet ?  It's a busy time for most crafters but Nikky at Polkadoodles has knocked it out of the park again with this new Christmas Release so I am certain you will love it.  ITs the brand new Gingerbread Cookie release and as always there is currently a fabulous discount off the collection especially if you are a Polkadoodles VIP.

There are 10 different kits to choose from as well as 3D templates and loads of cooking themed SVGs if you use an electronic cutting machine. As well as the small kits which are excellent value you can also buy individual digital stamps.... I think the hardest part will be to choose what you need.

There's loads of inspiration from the Polkadoodles Design team on the website in the gallery if you are looking for some ideas

My first card using the collection is a new style of card that I have seen loads of recently on social media. Its called a Floating hexagon card and you are interested in making one of these cards then I can recommend watching the fabulous YouTube tutorial by Paul Ford watch here.  Its very easy to create and once you have got the hang of it, you can recreate it easily in different sizes to suit.

To create this card I've used a green card stock to coordinate with 2 of the papers from the collection.  The digital stamp is from the Candy Gingerbread kit.  I resized the main image, printing out onto alcohol marker friendly card before colouring with my promarkers and then fussy cutting out.

I also printed out some of the pre-coloured flowers and foliage and used these to decorate the card.

The finishing touches were some sparkle and glitter and glossy accents - it is for Christmas after all.
Its a fabulous card to display and it all folds flat into a 5" x 7" A7 envelope

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from the new Gingerbread Cookie collection by
 Polkadoodles.

Sending Love - Bumble Buzz Digital collection with Julia McNeill Designs

Hello everyone Happy Friday - Yay the best day of the week ! (and I'm retired lol)

I hope that you have all had a great week and have something nice planned for the weekend, hopefully we'll be wandering into town this evening for a few drinks at our favourite bar.

It's nearly the middle of September and Autumn is definitely here...the evenings are cooling off fast and the daytime temperatures are in the low to mid 30's so a lovely respite after the high temperatures of this Summer.

Today I'm sharing a project for JMC Designs  that I've created using the absolutely gorgeous Bumble Buzz Digital Collection.

The gorgeous digital collection contains
  • 15 Digital Stamps
  • 15 Pre Coloured Digital Stamps
  • 6 Ephemera Sheets
  • 5 Topper Sheets
  • 4 Sentiment Sheets
  • 23 papers.
and I think there's definitely something for everyone, if you love to colour or not.

For my card today I chose one of the gorgeous pre-coloured roses from the ephemera and the pink and brown striped paper.  I love making cute character based cards but sometimes we need a card that's less cutesy and this rose stem is perfect for a more grown up but still whimsical look.

I wanted an Autumn flavoured card so have teamed this with some lovely chocolate brown satin card using one of my dies to cut a scalloped frame for my DL card.

I blended a little pink distress ink onto a white DL panel and then used some pink metallic watercolour to splatter across this panel.

Next I fussy cut the rose stem from the ephemera in the collection and then added this to the card using some 3D silicone glue gel for dimension.  The sentiment is a simple word die that I have layered chocolate card and white card on top to give a drop shadow.

The finishing touches were some drops of glossy accents on the petals and leaves, to resemble water droplets and a few pieces of rose confetti.

I do hope that you like my card for today and Id love it if you'd leave me a comment.

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog - Guest Designer - Christmas - Polkadoodles - Lucy Monkman - All Hearts come home for Christmas

Hello everyone happy Thursday ... I hope that your week has gone well so far...not long to go now until the weekend.

I'm back again to share my second card as Guest Chick for the month of September for the Krafty Chicks.

Every Thursday there is a new challenge on the Krafty Chicks blog and this week the challenge is Christmas.

You can check out all the rules over on the blog itself and it would be wonderful if you join in with the fun.

So here is my Christmas card project and I hope that you like it!

My card today is a standard white portrait or tent fold UK A6 card blank with a simple mat layer of a purple glitter cardstock.

The image is by Polkadoodles from the Lucy Monkman collection and these images are some of my favourites - I love how simple they are and really eye catching - something very different and also very clean and simple.  The images are so easy to colour they are perfect for batch making at Christmas using different colour ways for completely different looks.  What could be easier?

I resized the sweet dog sitting on parcels digital stamp and added a digital sentiment to the design panel before printing out onto alcohol marker friendly card stock and colouring with my promarkers.

I added a little white gelly roll dots to the parcels  and then adhered the panel to the card blank.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card for today and will drop by again to see my next project.

Autumn Birthday Wishes - Autumn Wreath - with Pattie's Creations

Happy Friday everyone I hope that you are all well and have had a lovely week.

The first Friday of the month marks the start of a new Challenge for December over on the Pattie's Creations Design Challenge blog

The challenge runs from the first Friday of the month and its an Anything Goes challenge or our theme for September is School Days, so as long as you use a digital or stamped image in your project, why not join in the challenge.

Winners of the challenge will receive 2 digital stamps of your choice from Pattie's shop.

Pattie has some wonderful digital stamps in her Etsy Shop pattiescreations and there is also a freebie every month on the blog that you can use in your project if you want to!

For my September project, I chose  to use the Autumn Wreath
digital stamps to create a 6" x 6 " card.

This is definitely a more traditional style of card and quite different to my recent creations but I'm pleased with how its turned out.

I resized the image to suit my card size and added an autumn sentiment into the centre of the panel before printing out on my LaserJet printer.  As I was going to create some extra layering I printed out some of the leaves a second time.

I then used a selection of distress inks to colour the leaves with an autumnal palette before fussy cutting them out.

I then applied gold foil to the extra leaves that would be popped up on foam tape for dimension and used rose gold foil for the sentiment in the centre.
For the background I used a linen effect embossing folder to add texture to Kraft card and then applied white dye ink over the texture to soften the look.

To finish off the card I added some white gelly roll pen highlights to the acorns and scattered gold confetti around the design.

I do hope that you like my card for today and don't forget to join in with this months challenge over on the blog.

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Krafty Chicks Challenge Blog - Guest Designer - Stamps - Lesia Zgharda - Beach Bunnies don't care about Mondays

Hello everyone happy Thursday ... I hope that your week has gone well so far...not long to go now until the weekend.

I'm super excited today to be joining the Krafty Chicks as Guest Chick for the month of September and today I'm sharing my first card for them.

Every Thursday there is a new challenge on the Krafty Chicks blog and this week the challenge is to use stamps. This can be physical or digital stamps.

You can check out all the rules over on the blog itself and it would be wonderful if you join in with the fun.

So here is my first card project and I hope that you like it!

I treated myself to some super cute new stamps a few weeks back from the amazingly talented Lesia Zgharda and this was the perfect opportunity to use them in my card for toddy.  There are some gorgeous stamps in her shop and there is also a sale on currently so I would highly recommend taking a look! The hardest part is deciding what to order.  The postage from Ukraine to Spain was perfect too and really quick.

I have used the super cute Bunny Girl on a Swim Ring, stamped in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink onto a pre-cut card tag.  The sweet sentiment is from a small sentiment set Beach bunnies don't care about Mondays.

The image was then coloured using my brand new Polychromos pencils.... oh my goodness I am in love with these pencils and was very lucky to get these for my birthday from my amazing hubby. I have listed the colours used below.

Once the colouring was complete I blended distress ink around the edge of the tag and added a silver eyelet to to top along with some natural twine.

My card today is a standard white. UK A6 card blank. Next I created the card background by die cutting a panel of mint green card stock with a stitched border.

I then used a water stencil to emboss the card and finally used white dye based ink to blend through the stencil to give a subtle look.

I added a little white gelly roll pen to highlight the waves, before adhering the background panel to the card blank.

Finally I adhered the tag to my card, on an angle using foam tape for dimension.

To finish off my card today I've added glossy accents around the design and to the bunny's sunglasses.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card for today and will drop by again to see my next project.

Sometimes I think CAS cards are very overlooked and I wanted to use the theme colours but in a different way than expected.

Todays card as a simple A6 card with a background panel of gold mirri foil die cut with a stitched edge.

The finishing touches today were some sparkle on the chocolate icing and glossy accents on the candle flames.

I started by creating my pop up card from a blue textured card stock and then used some of the fabulous blue paper from the set to mat onto the card base.

I then resized the digital image of Mareo printing out and colouring with promarkers, before fussy cutting out.

The finishing touches were white gel pen highlights and clear sparkle to his fabulous silver suit - I wish you could see the sparkle.

Digi Choosday - Freddy Fox - Welcome Autumn With Friends Freddy with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday. It's September and Autumn is now definitely on it's way... the leaves are turning and falling fast after out hot long Summer.

It's that time of the week when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is to create an Autumn or Halloween themed card so I chose Autumn as the colours around the garden and the mountains are some of my favourites.

I thought that today I would share a card using the fabulous and very cute Freddy Fox release.

Its a very simple bridge fold card that fits into a standard 6" x 6" envelope.  I have used 3 papers from the collection to decorate the panels and the bridge section.  The sweet image of Freddy with his friend was resized to suit the card before printing on alcohol marker friendly cardstock, colouring with promarkers and fussy cutting out.

I also printed some of the pre-coloured ephemera from the collection and used this to decorate the card, adding one of the little bees on a strip of acetate so he flies over the heads of Freddy and his friend.  The sentiment adhered to the back of the card has also been printed from the collection and cut into a simple banner.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from the new Freddy the Fox Collection by
 Polkadoodles.
