Bloom where you are planted - Fruitropolis Collection with Julia McNeill Designs

Hello everyone Happy Friday !

Today we are off into town for the day as its our town Feria so fingers crossed for the weather - we've had a few lovely cooler days and even a little rain but it's forecast to be 33 today so good timing for the festivities

I hope that you have all had a great week and have something nice planned for the weekend.

Today I'm sharing a project for JMC Designs  that I've created one of the stamps from the Fruitropolis stamp collection - The Orangery and one of the stencils from the Stencil Suite collection 

It's quite a clean and simple card and would be great for lots of occasions I think.

I decided to create a one layer card - apart from the sentiment so started off by lightly adhering the Club stencil to a piece of 6" x 6" card stock, I then used the tree stamp from the Orangery set and stamped this 3 times into the centre of the stencil - the middle one was stamped first and then I masked this off to stamp the other two trees.

Leaving the stencil in place I used distress inks to create a cloudy sky, green for the grass and a little brown for the trunk of the Club tree.  I used the tiny little diamond stamp to create a little path.

I used distress inks to watercolour the trees and then finished off adding white highlights to the tree.  I outlined the club tree using a black Fineliner pen, added green coordinating sequins and then stamped the sentiment which is in the Pear Place set matting this onto black card before adding to the card. The doodled border was drawn onto the card panel before adding this to my card blank with a mat layer of black card

You're So Sweet - Stay Cool Ice creams with Studiolight

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Friday! I hope that you have had a lovely week and are looking forward to the weekend. 

I'm on my blog today with a very Summery card that I've made using a new set of clear stamps.  These sweet ice creams are from a set by Studiolight and I wanted to create something for the current Simon Says Stamp July challenge on Instagram to use the three colours pink, blue and green, a perfect combination for Summer!

This is a simple A6 (UK Size) card created with a layer of white card on a white card blank.  

I started off by stamping the three ice creams onto watercolour card stock and then coloured them using my watercolour paints, sticking to the theme, before fussy cutting out and using a black marker to hide the white outline.

Next I stamped the three ice creams onto a panel of white card before using my texture stamp and distress inks to create the splatters - I think they look like splashes of ice cream dropped onto the page.

Once the distress ink was dry I adhered the fussy cut ice creams into place along with a sweet sentiment from the set which I adhered with foam tape after doodling a black outline.  

Next I added white gel pen highlights here and there and some clear iridescent sequins to finish off my card for today.

Just Wanted to Say with JMC Designs

Hello everyone Happy Monday I hope that your first week of the New Year went well.  

Christmas has now finished here in Spain, our decorations have been put away and everyone is back to work/school today as normality returns - well until the next Fiesta/celebration which is just around the corner (San Sebastian on the 20th January, the Patron Saint of our town)

It's time for me to post another project for JMC Designs 

I had loads of fun creating today's card using a digital stamp from the Cocktail Divas collection (I'm sorry but this wonderful collection is sadly no longer available to buy).  This is Melody Mojito (my favourite Summer Cocktail!)

I created the background panel using one of my kitchen roll mop up sheets, adhered to a piece of thin card before die cutting out.  

For extra texture I tore the bottom off the panel to expose the cardstock underneath.

I used a black fine liner pen and my new watercolour paints to add extra  doodles and details to the background.

Once I was happy with the overall look I mounted this onto a panel of dark blue card, adding a small strip of recycled packaging to the bottom.

The digital image was resized to suit my card and I also resized extra wedges of lime images, colouring these with my promarkers (see below for colours)

Once coloured these were fussy cut out and then layered onto my card, some adhered flat and some mounted on foam tape for dimension.

A simple sentiment was added to finish off my card.

It's a super sparkly card and perfect to send to someone special just to say how wonderful they are.

A Passion for Markers BlogSpot Challenge #693 For a Man or a Boy

Hello and a happy Tuesday to you all !

I'm here today to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and its a special Anniversary challenge.

This weeks challenge is being sponsored by Dies to Die For  which is a UK shop new to me...there are loads of lovely goodies and some fabulous brands available in the store so I would highly recommend taking a look.

The theme this week chosen by Kitty for Team 2 is For a Man or a Boy which is perfect as I definitely need to make more male cards for my stash.

I chose to use a sweet image from Polkadoodles from the Little Dude collection called Party Little Dude and its a great set as not only does it include the digital stamp but also 3 digital papers and 3 coordinating sentiments.

Don't forget there will be a prize for the Winner of the challenge - there are more details over on the Passion for Markers blog.

I decided to make a simple one layer card today so added the image and one of the papers from the set to an a6 (UK size) panel of card in my graphics software before printing out onto alcohol marker friendly paper and colouring with my Promarkers.

The background paper that I chose already included a celebration sentiment so I haven't added an extra one to the card but instead added two simple strips of washi tape to the bottom of the panel.  

I have hand drawn a simple doodle border around the panel and then finished off the card with a few sparkly star sequins around the design
