Digi Choosday - Theo Penguin collection - Sparkle & Shine - Christmas - with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you are having a good week....

I cant quite believe that November is nearly over - this year has gone extremely fast and we seem to have been constantly busy. Autumn and Winter are always busy in the garden, picking the olives then pruning all the trees ready for the Winter. I'm looking forward to a bit more relaxation over December - fingers crossed LOL

It's that time of the week to share some more inspiration for our current 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing Digi Choosday discount off all crafty printable downloads!

Don't Forget that our challenges our now 4 weekly so there's loads of time for you to join in and more chances to win too!

The theme set for the DT this week is Sparkle and Shine so I decided to create a Winter card
using one of the cute little digital stamps from the Theo Penguin collection this could easily be used at Christmas too!

The main Theo image is called Skating Along and I have resized him 3 times and coloured with promarkers before fussy cutting out....I wanted to create a scene for Theo and his friends with them skating down an icy stream on a DL card.

For the background I chose one of the icy looking papers from the collection, cutting it to fit my DL card.  Next I cut a wavy peice of double sided adhesive sheet and adhered this to the card.  To create the ice path I applied sparkly glitter to the adhesive sheet, burnishing it to the sheet with the back of the adhesive sheet.

I love how much this sparkles and it looks like an icy stream flowing down the card.

I die cut a border frame from silver glitter card and also the coloured sentiment from the collection was printed and layered onto a piece of silver glitter card and adhered across the card.

Finally I added Theo and his friends to the card

This is one of my favourite Winter cards and it was so easy to create.

I hope that you like my project today and you'll enjoy the next that I share from Polkadoodles.

A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #815 - Christmas - Sponsored by Lili of the Valley

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely day - I hope that week is going well for you.  My goodness we've had so much rain over the last couple of days - everywhere is feeling very soggy and could do with a bit of drying time.

We're starting phase two of our olive picking this week, assuming the rain stops long enough LOL

The first batch of Olives has given us 200 litres of delicious extra Virgin Olive Oil and we'll probably get another 100 litres or so with the remaining trees to pick - not a bad yield at all.

There's a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in.

This weeks challenge theme of 'Christmas' it had to be really has been chosen by Me for team 2 and is being sponsored by Lili of the Valley.

For my card today I decided to create a snowy scene for one of the cutest snowmen -  the Top Hat Snowman

He's definitely such a happy looking chap.... I wonder if he's off to a Christmas party ?

I created a landscape stair step card using a standard A6 card blank and then for the step section I cut a piece of card  10" by 5 3/4" scoring this at 1", 2" 4" and 6"

The step section was then adhered into the inside of the card blank before decorating with a starry sky paper that I've had in my stash for years, for the middle and back panel and then used white card die cut to create snow banks, edging these with blue distress ink

The snowman and the trees were coloured with promarkers and fussy cut out, adhering to the middle panel.  The little star from the image was adhered using a strip of acetate so it floats in the sky above the snowman.

I added a couple of die cut trees to the card, these were coloured with distress ink and then the card was finished off with lots of lovely snowy sparkle.

I hope that you join in with the challenge as there is a prize from the sponsor for our lucky winner!

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Digi Choosday - Theo Penguin collection - Big Hat Day - Non Traditional Christmas colours - with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you are having a good week....So, November is here and I think it's about time we got a little bit more Christmassy...it's not long to go after all and those cards need to be made and posted.

The theme set for the DT this week is Anything with non traditional Christmas or Winter colours.

I decided to use a cute little digital stamp from the Theo Penguin collection for this weeks card making a Winter card that could easily be used at Christmas too!

The main Theo image is  called Big Hat Day and he was, resized and coloured with promarkers before fussy cutting out.

For the background I chose 3 alcohol markers in purple, teal and blue and used these to scribble onto a piece of vellum, adding alcohol to the scribbles to get the colours to blend and flow. It's a really fun technique and gives some fabulous effects.

When I was happy with the overall effect and before the ink was completely dry I applied some electric blue foil to the areas that were still tacky.  I decided I wanted more foil so then splattered foil glue across the panel and once this has gone tacky applied more of the same foil.  It's super shiny and I love how it looks.

The coloured sentiment from the collection was printed and layered onto the pale aqua card after die cutting a stitched wavy border

To finish off the design I added some sparkly aqua blue gems and white pen highlights around the design.

I hope that you like my project today and you'll enjoy the next that I share from Polkadoodles.

New Release - Spooky Time & Spooky Season - Halloween card & Tag - Creepy Creatures collection with Polkadoodles

Hello and happy Tuesday everyone... I hope that you are having a good week so far - we are expecting some lovely rain this afternoon - yeah !  I know it's a bit strange wishing for the rain LOL

It's Halloween Week so today I'm sharing 2 of my projects - a card and a tag. which have both been created using the brand new Creepy Creatures collection  by Polkadoodles.

For my first card - Spooky Time I've used the strange and creepy little Candy Corns from the Creepy Things bundle

I resized them to create 3 different  creepies and printed them out before colouring with Promarkers and fussy cutting out....we didn't have Candy Corn really in the UK and definitely not here in Spain but these are super spooky with their little rabbit ears .

I used papers from the collection to mat and layer onto the DL card leaving a torn edge on the striped paper for texture.

The SPOOKY word was die cut from black card and then sprayed with Distress Mica Spray

The little candy corns were tucked around the word and the card was finished off with sparkly gems.

A fun and cute Spooky card I think....

My second Halloween make today is a cute and simple little tag - perfect for a Halloween gift or goody bag

The cute little Bat boy dressed up was resized to suit my tag and then I decided to colour him him dressing up as a tiger...its actually a little bat costume but all I could see was a kitty or a tiger.  Coloured with promarkers and fussy cut out.

The tag background was created with distress inks and the mica sprays.

The finishing touches were some gems, glossy accents, wool for the tag and the sentiment, cut out and inked with lime green ink

I hope that you like my projects today and you'll enjoy the next that I share from Polkadoodles.

Digi Choosday - Freddy Fox collection - November Birthday - with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you are having a good week....We're nearly at the end of October and well into Autumn now, the leaves around the garden are falling fast and lots of the plants are starting to think about resting over Winter.  It's been a long hot Summer so a well earned rest I think

The theme set for the DT this week is November Birthday - and as its still officially Autumn until December 21st I thought I would choose to create something with one of my favourite collections especially for this time of the year

It's of course the  Freddy Fox collection and I have created a DL card for my friend back in the UK.

The main Freddy image for todays card is Birthday Balloons, resized and coloured with promarkers before fussy cutting out.

For the background I chose 3 papers from the collection, layering these up for my scene of Freddy floating through the sky.  The pre-coloured butterflies from the ephemera bundle were added to the sky paper before printing out.

I added little cross stitched borders to the paper layers for extra details.

The sentiment from the collection was printed as a simple strip and added  towards the bottom of the card.

To finish off the design I added some sparkle to the butterflies and some pretty sequins around the design.

I hope that you like my project today and you'll enjoy the next that I share from Polkadoodles.

New Release - Hey There Pumpkin - Halloween cards - Creepy Creatures collection with Polkadoodles

Hello and happy Monday everyone... I hope that you had a lovely weekend!

It's Halloween Week and I've still got lots of Spooky Cute cards to share with you so I might have to do a couple each day...apologies in advance but I really want to share them all with you.

Both of my cards today are created using the brand new Creepy Creatures collection  by Polkadoodles.

For my first card I've used the Pumpkin Head digital stamp from the Creepy Things bundle, brightly coloured with Promarkers and fussy cut out....I love using fun bright colours for Halloween, its doesn't always have to be all about dark grunge.

For my simply spooky card I chose one of the fabulous background papers from the collection, resizing this to fit my smaller 6" x 6" card, punching the corners out and then layering onto magenta card stock.

I printed out the sentiment and then applied hot pink foil to it before fussy cutting out.

The cute little pre-coloured  Happy Pumpkin was printed out and fussy cut before tucking behind the little Pumpkin head boy...I added glossy accents to make his eyes pop out.

The finishing touches were some fluorescent yellow gel pens to the pumpkins eyes and nose to make him extra spooky, the tops of the tree and bats and in the windows of the spooky mansion.

I hope that you like my project today and you'll enjoy the next that I share from Polkadoodles.

Christmas Tree....Oh! - It wasn't me! - New stamps with Creative Ember Designs

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Sunday I hope you're having a good weekend.

We had a great walk yesterday despite having to be up at 5:45 to catch the coach....it was quite a long drive to a town called Zafarraya and a hot day too - we walked 12km followed by a great lunch in the town in a large carpa or marquee specially erected for the event....there were loads of people there walking and two routes a short and a long one....so as you can image today we're both a little tired.   Good job the clocks went back and gave us an extra hour today..... A day to relax so I thought I would share a card I've made using some great new products from a brand new company Creative Ember Designs by Leonie Pujol.

When I saw these fantastic kitties I had to splash out and I love them - so quirky and just like our kitties !

I treated myself to a couple of the  stamps sets and a fab stencil that's definitely not just for Christmas. Todays card is featuring our sweet ginger boy Foxy and we  see him investigating the Christmas Tree each year but thankfully no breakages so far.

I thought I would keep a simple colour palette of greens and oranges and I'm really pleased with the end result.  The background panel was inked with distress inks and then I added some Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders for shine.  To finish off the panel I stamped the Christmas tee in green Versafine Clair ink and then splattered the panel with more ink for texture.

Next I used dies to create a frame or window, I wanted it to look like someone looking in at the scene and Foxy saying 'it wasn't me!'

The frame was coloured with inks and then I used the stencil to add some words and texture.

Foxy was stamped using distress Oxide ink and then I've used to water brush to pull out the colour .

I finished Foxy off by using a white pastel pencil to add his stripes and then fussy cut him out.

The frame and Foxy were adhered to the card using foam tape and then I added the sentiment, stamped
on card with inked edges.

Finishing touches were glossy accents to Foxy's eyes and the baubles.

Enjoy the rest of your day !
