A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #793 - Animals - Sponsored by All Dressed Up

Hello and a happy Tuesday to you all ! I hope you are all well and the week has started well.  I seem to be spending a lot of time trying to keep cool at the moment - its very hot and humid here at the moment.

Today I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge.

This weeks challenge is being sponsored by All Dressed Up stamps and our theme of 'Animals' this week was chosen for team 2 by Natalie...

I chose to use a really sweet image called A Time to give

I have created a simple A6 card using a lovely party themed die for the frame of my card, cutting it from lime green card stock.

I resized the image to suit my card blank and then printed out onto alcohol friendly card stock before colouring with my Promarkers....I decided to use some zesty colours to match the card frame.  I used a stencil and distress inks to stencil a party background.

I added glossy accents to the little balloons, a little sparkle to the bunting and some clear iridescent sequins around the design.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

The theme set for the DT this week is to create a Ice Cream themed card.

I decided to use a sweet simple image from the  Winnie Starfish and Sandcastles collection - this is a simple Ice Cream digital that i have printed out 5 times and coloured with my promarkers before fussy cutting out.

I created my background by blending distress oxide inks over a panel of card to fit an A7 or 5" x 7" card blank. I used stencils to create my cloudy sky and the ripples of the sea.

Next I used a rectangular die to create a frame, adhering the centre panel direct to the card and then popping up the outer frame with foam tape for dimension.

I added sea foam to the waters edge with a little white gesso on  my finger tip and a white gelly roll pen.

The ice creams were distributed in rainbow order at the bottom of the design in the sand and the sentiment also from the collection was adhered to the top panel after a little ink blending.

To finish off my project I added some sequins around the design

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Saturday....I hope you are enjoying the weekend so far - it's a hot one here for us so lots of cooling time inside and maybe a dip in the pool too.

I'm here today with a sweet little kitty card for Lili of the Valley (LOTV) featuring three of the quirky kitties from the Purrfect digital stamp set - Sadly this isn't available in the Etsy shop  but I'm sure that many of you may have got this if you were lucky enough to get hold of the fabulous bundle of store images.

Just some simple colouring with my promarkers and fussy cutting out to raise the kitties on the card background with foam tape.

I added a little stencilling in the background to the panel, a little grey shadow beneath the kitties and foiled the sentiment in blue.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Lili of the Valley (LOTV)

Quick Cards - Toppers - Bumble Buzz Digital collection with Julia McNeill Designs

Hello everyone Happy Friday - I hope you have all had a great week!

Its been so hot here this week and the temperatures are rising each day - it'll soon be 40C phew!  We had a lovely day out yesterday in Granada, wandering around streets we haven't explored and revisiting a small plaza that we first went to 19 years ago - needless to say there have been a lot of changes and one of our favourite little restaurants has been revamped and now has new owners ! sad but things change....

Today I'm sharing a couple of cards for JMC Designs  that I've created using the absolutely gorgeous Bumble Buzz Digital Collection.  I have to say I think this is probably my favourite of the digital collections - who doesn't love bees as they are such important little insects.

The gorgeous digital collection contains
  • 15 Digital Stamps
  • 15 Pre Coloured Digital Stamps
  • 6 Ephemera Sheets
  • 5 Topper Sheets
  • 4 Sentiment Sheets
  • 23 papers.
and I think there's definitely something for everyone, if you love to colour or not.

I needed to make a couple of quick but pretty cards so I decided to use one of the topper sheets from the collection.  I printed out the sheet twice and adhered two toppers directly to may card bases leaving a small white outline around each.

Then I fussy cut out the floral elements and then adhered these onto each card for a little extra dimension.

To make the cards extra special I printed out a couple of sentiments and then foiled these with gold foil.

The finishing touches for both cards were some drops of glossy accents on the flowers, clear sparkle pen over the bees and a few pieces of gold confetti around the designs.

Two quick and simple cards all ready to post out next week.

I do hope that you like my cards for today and Id love it if you'd leave me a comment.

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #791 - Get in Shape - Sponsored by LeAnn's World 101

Hello and a happy Tuesday to you all ! I hope that your week has started well.

Today I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge.

This weeks challenge is being sponsored by LeAnn's World 101 and our theme of 'Shaped Cards' this week was chosen for team 2 by Kitty.

I chose to use a really sweet image called Belly Dancing Bella coloured with Promarkers, before fussy cutting out.  The fabulous sentiment is from a set of stamps by Mama Elephant called Shall we Dance

I decided to keep the colour palette bright and simple but there is lots of added sparkle which is far better in real life.

I have a confession to make ! - I misunderstood the theme for todays challenge - Get in Shape and went off on a tangent - my Get in Shape was really a play on words and rather than a simple arch shaped card, I added my arch to a panel of Moroccan styled paper to match the belly dancing image.
After all dancing is supposed to be one of the best ways to Get in Shape !

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog

Enjoy the rest of your day !

The theme set for the DT this week is to create a Father's Day card.

I decided to use a sweet image from the Horace & Boo collection - this is Horace  to create a more masculine pop up A6 card.

I chose a couple of papers from the Winnie Daisy Fairy 2 collection to layer onto the pop up card panels and then used a fancy edged die to cut out a centre panel.  I ink blended clouds over this white card.

The image was resized along with a sentiment from the Gnome Feeding Birds kit before printing out and colouring with promarkers and fussy cutting out, layering at the bottom of the fancy panel.

It's definitely Summer here with temperatures around 30C most days now.  The pool is starting to look very inviting too!  We're off down the the beach today for lunch with friends so I best get a wriggle on.

Today I'm back to share a card for JMC Designs  that I've made using the May freebie digital stamp - this is the Carnival Mermaid .... celebrating everything MerMay !

To create my Mermaid card for today today I've used a piece of the watery paper from the aquatic adventures kit on the inside of an A6 card blank. I cut an arched aperture in the front of the card and then used the stencil to add bubbles to a piece of vellum, adding white pen highlights to the bubbles.  The acetate was adhered behind the aperture.

The mermaid was coloured with my Promarkers and fussy cut out and adhered using a strip of acetate into the frame.

The finishing touches were some little pen details to the mermaid tail, , coral from the digital kit and lots of sparkle.

I do hope that you like my card for today and I'd love it if you'd leave me a comment.

A Pocket Hug - Flower Pockets - with Lili of the Valley (LOTV)

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Thursday....All back to normal now after our trip to Mallorca and my aim is to get my blog out most days over the Summer but you know what its like - things happen !

We have some friends coming tomorrow for lunch and then drinks and tapas in town so today were busy getting the garden tidied - we had a few heavy downpours yesterday so currently trying to dry things out.

I'm here today with a pretty floral pocket card for Lili of the Valley (LOTV) featuring one of the images from the gorgeous Flower Pockets stamp set - some of you may have got this in Polymer Stamp for but I'm so happy that its now also available as a digital set of stamps - I think digital stamps are so versatile as they can resized and manipulated so easily for your card design. The digital set is available now from the Etsy shop

My sweet card today features one of the little pockets and I have decoupaged some of the flowers for extra dimension.

The design was printed onto alcohol marker friendly cardstock and printed out before colouring with promarkers and fussy cutting out the extra layers.  To build the card I have used a watercolour style paper with a diamond aperture in the centre and some dark navy card to define the layers.

The little sentiment on the pocket is also from the set.  To finish off the card just a few clear iridescent sequins around the design.

I also made a similar card with the same set of stamps, simply using the flowers and a sentiment without the pocket, but completely forgot to add it to my blog so here it is just in case you haven't seen it.

It just shows how versatile this set is !

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Lili of the Valley (LOTV)

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you are having a good week....

It's that time of the week to share some more inspiration for our current 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing Digi Choosday discount off all crafty printable downloads!

Our challenges our now 4 weekly so there's loads of time for you to join in and more chances to win too!

The theme set for the DT this week is to create a Coffee or Drinks themed card with a matching pun.

I chose the Latte Coffee Cup from the Coffee Tea Cake Collection, resizing the cup image to entirely fill an A6 card front.  I also added a couple of the cute puns from the collection, one to the lid of the cup and one to the cardboard holder before printing out and colouring with my Promarkers.

Can you guess what my favourite coffee outlet was in the UK ?  We had one on site at work and I used to go everyday for a large latte !

I adhered the panel to the front of the card blank and then fussy cut out the right hand side of the panel adding a piece of red check paper from the collection to the inside panel of the card.

Next I added some coffee splatters around the edge with distress ink and a stencil.

To finish off my project I added some card candi and a die cut heart before covering these with glossy accents.

A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #788 - Favourite Colour Combination - Sponsored by The Paper Shelter

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely day - We're back after a wonderful long weekend away in Mallorca, had a fabulous time and it was great to have a break away too with lots of sightseeing and lots of relaxing too.

Today I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in.

This weeks challenge theme of 'Favourite Colour Combination' has been chosen by Karen for team 2 and is being sponsored by The Paper Shelter

For my eclipse style card today I chose to use a pretty digital image Hammock Days to create a pretty birthday card.

I resized the image to suit a 6" x 6" card and then printed it on alcohol friendly card before colouring with promarkers and then fussy cutting it out.

The image also comes with a pretty background paper to match so I resized this to suit the card blank and added a sentiment to the panel before printing.

To create the eclipse effect I used a smaller die to cut out the centre of the paper, adhering this directly onto the card blank.  Then I added foam tape to the outer border of the paper, tucking the sweet girl underneath before adhering the frame to the card.  The little girl is hanging free between the outer frame sides.

The finishing touches were some drops of stickles to the flower  centres at the bottom and some white gel pen highlights.

I hope that you join in with the challenge as there is a prize from the sponsor for our lucky winner!

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog
