A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #78 - Birthdays Sponsored by Di's Digis

Today I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in.

This weeks challenge theme of 'Birthdays' has been chosen by Elaine for team 2 and the prize this week is being given by Dr Digis House of Stamps

This is a simple  portrait A6 (UK size) card today with all of the focus on the fabulous and fun image from Dr Digis House of Stamps called Bob's Balloons  

I'm still on a mission making more male themed cards and I know a few men this would be great for. He looks like its hard work blowing up those balloons.

I started by cutting a piece of fun striped paper to cover a white card blank..I chose a paper with striped of purples, lime green, white and black as I wanted to use these colours for my design.

I then resized the digital image of Bob and added a sentiment to to top of the panel before printing out and colouring with promarkers.  

No fussy cutting for this card as I wanted a one layer design. Once coloured I used my Minc machine to apply gold foil to the sentiment and then adhered the coloured panel onto the card base. 

The finishing touches were a little inked shadow beneath his feet to ground him, white gel pen highlights and clear sparkle to the balloons and then some black sparkly gems around the image..
