Digi Choosday - SVG Spring is Here - Spring Card - 3d Pop up Card - Gnome for Spring Collection - with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you're having a great week.  It's the middle of March and its definitely beginning to look a lot like Spring here - buds on the trees starting to burst open, beautiful fragrant almond blossom and there's a definite buzz in the garden now.

It's that time of the week to share some more inspiration for our current 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing Digi Choosday discount off all crafty printable downloads!

The theme set for the DT this week is to make a Spring or Easter themed card and to use this colour palette 

One of my crafting goals this year, as you know is to use my ScanNCut machine more so I set myself the challenge to use one of the wonderful Digital Print and Cut Files and make a 3D pop up card.  Two completely new things for me to learn and I am so happy with the end result.

I started off with the Files from the Spring is Here download and worked out how to print these and use the Cut file included to cut out the images....

The really simple way was was to print out the coloured image file, scan in the image and then use this direct to cut tool, but I discovered that the detailed cuts were missing.  

Not a huge problem I know and the elements as still beautiful as they are but I wanted to get the detailed cuts too.  It took me a few attempts to work out which files to use with my ScanNCut machine but I did it in the end using the high quality png file and the dxf cut line only was the combination that worked for me.

But then I wanted to push myself further as the coloured images didn't match the colour palette Nikky had asked us to use.  So I set to work again, working out which file I needed to use that I could edit and alter the colours, I also wanted extra copies of the butterflies and tulips for my design.  Once I was happy I  recreated the cut file, using the original version to suit my new image.

I'm so happy it worked - took me a few hours to work out what I was doing but it was so worth it and will be quicker next time !

Next I designed my Pop Up Box in the Brother CanvasWorkspace and once cut out set to decorating my Spring card.

The finished card folds flat and  fits an A6 or 6" x 4" envelope.  

I adhered some of the wood grain paper from the Udderly Cute collection to the card inserts - I think they look like benches in a little greenhouse.  The back Arched panel of the pop up was covered with one of the lilac papers from the Flower Meadow bundle.

I assembled all the cut out elements, adding a little distress ink here and there to emphasise the shadows etc.

To finish off the card I added confetti around the design and added some clear sparkle to the butterflies.

New Release - Party Animals - Happy Birthday - Birthday Card - with Lili of the Valley LOTV

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Monday I hope that you have a great week ahead.

I've got a gentle yoga class this morning that I'm looking forward to and a bit of shopping - the things we forgot to get on Friday LOL  

I'm back with another cute card using one of the party animals from the New Release by Lili of the Valley (LOTV). available now from the Etsy shop.

My fun birthday card that I've made featuring the cute cow - who could resist that face !

There are 4 little characters...perfect for loads of different occasions.

Just some simple colouring with my promarkers before fussy cutting out. 

I've used papers from my stash to create my simple card and finishing touches added of white gel pen highlights, clear sparkle and purple gems.

New Release - Cute Girls - Hello - with Lili of the Valley LOTV

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Sunday - we had awful winds here again yesterday so hunkered down in the house but today the sun is shining so were out in the garden getting on with more tidying up.  We only have a few more weeks to get all the tree prunings burned so lots to do. 

Just a quick post from me today to share a sweet little card using the second New Release by Lili of the Valley (LOTV) , This sweetheart is one of the new Cute Girls, just launched and available now from the Etsy shop - there are 3 sets of  Cute Girls, each comes in a number of different variations, with and without flowers, so perfect for all sorts of occasions.

I chose to make a sweet Hello card using Cute Girl 3

I chose a pretty floral paper from my stash and adhered this directly to a card blank.  

The little girl was resized and I added a simple block sentiment before printing out and colouring with promarkers.  for a different look I used one of my larger fancy edge dies t cut out the image before adhering this off to the left side of the card with foam tape.

I hand fussy cut some of the little flowers from the background paper and adhered these around the design.

Finishing touches were white gel pen highlights and glossy accents to the flowers.

Positive Vibes - It's Okay - Mama Elephant stamps

Hello everyone wishing you all a wonderful Friday ...... I hope the week has been kind to you.

Here’s a sweet little card I’ve made to send someone some special caring vibes.

Sometimes we all just need a hug or some kinds words and these wonderful shelf stamps by Mama Elephant were just what I needed for my card today.

I wanted to create a fairly simple calming card today so chose a pretty blue background paper and then stamped the little shelf elements onto marker friendly card before colouring with promarkers.

The stamps come with dies but I don't have them so I used my ScanNCut to cut out the little elements before adhering them to the card, some flat and some with foam tape.

To finish off the card I added a few pieces of sparkly confetti.

A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #828 - Anything Masculine - Sponsored by Dr Digi

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely day -  I was so late updating my blog for today - got completely side tracked after yoga yesterday and then I managed to do a little pruning in the garden so tired myself out...so I'm in a rush this morning to get it written and published before my haircut at 10 !

Its gone so cold here again - even though its nearly Spring officially and its hot when you are in the sunshine its very cold in the shade and even colder in the house LOL 

Today I'm here to let you know that there's a new week long challenge on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in as there is a prize up for grabs.

and our theme is very simple - Anything Masculine and is being hosted by Elaine for Team 2. I'm still struggling to make more Masculine less cutesy cards - I should try harder I know.

I'm a Rock Chick at heart and I know quite a few Old Rockers who are also into their motorbikes so I decided today to use this cheeky Dr Digi stamp called Aubery Bumblethorpe colouring with my Promarkers before cutting out on my ScanNCut.


I then created a metal looking grid plate using an embossing folder in my stash, from black card and silver gilding wax. To tie in with Aubery's t-shirt I cut some red glitter stars and a large black glitter star to add to the background panel, cutting to fit the card base.


The perfect sentiment is from the Gnome for Men collection by Polkadoodles.


Finishing touches were glossy accents for his glasses and some silver gel pen on the buttons and belt.

Digi Choosday - Thinking of you always - Mothers Day - Birthday Card - Fence Card - Udderly Cute Collection - with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you're having a great week.  It was our wedding anniversary yesterday so we had a quick trip down to the coast for a walk on the beach and a lovely lunch.  I love the sound of the waves and the sunshine reflecting on the water so it sparkles - very special to see.

It's that time of the week to share some more inspiration for our current 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing Digi Choosday discount off all crafty printable downloads!

The theme set for the DT this week is to make a Mothers Day or Mothers Birthday card...my Mum absolutely loved her garden and I think anything with flowers always reminds me of her.  I decided that I would create a Fence Card or Lattice card as it would be perfect with the papers and ephemera from the Udderly Cute Collection

The finished card fits an A7 or 5" x 7" envelope.  I started with a piece of white card measuring 4 3/4" x 11 1/2" scoring this at 5 3/8 to create the base card.  On the shorter side of the card I then cut off 6 strips each measuring  1/2".  I also cut 2 strips measuring 3/4 " width by 4 3/4", these are for the fence posts.

I adhered some of the wood grain paper from the collection to the wood posts and planks and then adhered them to the card using a strip of masking tape to hold the card in position whilst the glue dried.  There are loads of tutorials on YouTube explaining how to create this type of card as it definitely was very popular last year. Have a look here on YouTube for a variation of the fence or lattice style card.

I used another of the floral papers to decorate the top section and the inside of the card.

Next I used my ScanNCut to cut out the elements from the Spring is Here SVG pack and blended a little distress ink to the sides of the plant pot to give it dimension.

The pretty daisy ephemera from the collection was perfect for my design so I arranged this on the fence panel before adding the little plant pot over the top of the bottom of the stems.

To finish off the card I added one of the little strip sentiments and some of the heart ephemera to the design.

to give the card a special look I scatted sparkly gems around the design and added some clear sparkle to the hearts.
