Dragon Dreams - Limited Edition Stamp - Colouring with Crayons with Julia McNeil Designs

Hello everyone Happy Friday! I hope that you've had a great week and the weather has been kind where you are.  We've finished picking the olives - yeah...just got to get them to our local mill for pressing....its not been a great year so not sure yet how much oil well get back...

Time for a breather before we start pruning !

Today I'm back to share a project for JMC Designs  and its something a little different.

I've used one of the fabulous limited edition stamps for my card today - the set is called Dragon Dreams and is still available on the website

For my card today I decided to use crayons to colour the sleeping dragon and the clouds - yes that's right...an inexpensive actually very cheap colouring medium and i'm so happy with the result.

If you would like to learn more then Julia has an excellent tutorial on YouTube that will give you a few pointers - it's super easy though. Here is the link

I stamped the images onto Bristol card - its got more of a texture or tooth than the card I would normally use for alcohol pens.  Once coloured and burnished, I fussy cut out the dragon and the 3 extra clouds ready for my card along with the sentiment.

Next I created my background - I wanted a galaxy style background so started with a peice of watercolour card.  I randomly blended 3 colours of distress inks over the watercolour card and then spritzed with water to let the colours mix and blend together.

Once the card was completely dry I used my black soot distress ink, applying this over the coloured sections.  To finish the panel I splattered silver metallic paint and white posca pen.  The clouds and the dragon were adhered to the card some flat and some on foam tape for dimension.

To finish off the card and add sparkle I used a sparkle pen over the clouds  and used the white posca pen to create little stars.

I do hope that you like my card for today and I'd love it if you'd leave me a comment.

Happy birthday Dani with Pink Gem Designs

Hello everyone - wishing you a wonderful Thursday....I hope you are all enjoying the week.

Today I have another card for you featuring the cute little dragon called Dani  this time from a set of 2 black and white and 2 pre-coloured images (with and without a hat) by Pink Gem Designs.

The Happy Birthday sentiment that I've used for this card is from the Dani with Balloon set and I've added this to a fun designer paper from Polkadoodles that is part of the Happy Cactus collection set 1 before printing out.

I cut an aperture in the card panel using a spellbinders circular scalloped die I've had for years and used the same die and the next one down to create a frame from teal card.   I used my cloud stencils to blend a little distress ink behind the aperture to coordinate with the cardstock.

A few sparkly sequins and a little clear sparkle on his wings to finish off the card.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project.

Happy Birthday from Dani with Pink Gem Designs

Hello everyone - wishing you a wonderful Thursday. Tonight sees the arrival of the 3 Kings and tomorrow is a time to celebrate Epiphany and also marks the end of Christmas so time to take down our decorations.

Did you know that Dragons come in lots of different colours, each with a different meaning and purpose, depending on their origin (Chinese legend, Japanese Tattoos, Feng Shui, Dungeons and Dragons etc)

My card today is featuring a cute little dragon called Dani  and hes one of the new digital stamps by Pink Gem Designs.   Green dragons are said to represent nature, the east and can even control the rain and the the wind - rain is something we could definitely do with here!

My cute little green dragon is off to a birthday party I hope he doesn't get into too much trouble and set fire to anything!

It's a simple landscape A6 card and I have added the sentiment that comes with the digital stamp to a fun digital paper before printing out for my background.  Dani has been coloured with my promarkers(see below) before being fussy cut out and adhered to the panel with low profile foam tape.

I've added a touch of sparkle to his magical balloon and scattered some confetti from Pretty Pink Posh around the design.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project.
