New Release - Christmas - Photo Strip - Robin with Lili of the Valley LOTV

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Tuesday....I hope you are having a good week so far... we've got family staying so having a few days being tourists, trying to keep cool and eating too much as usual ! I'm missing my crafty time so managed to sneak some quiet chilling time to myself today to create a little and catch up with the blog.

Today I'm sharing a cute DL Christmas card  made for Lili of the Valley (LOTV) using another of the new Photo booth digital stamp sets.

These cards feature a very funny Robin, its the  Robin Photo Strip set available in the Etsy shop.

I really love all of these Christmas stamps as they are such versatile stamps and can be used all together as one image or you can split them to create 4 separate cards.

I remember seeing a die last year or so that created a strip of film roll so I wanted to create this as I think the Robin looks like he's trying to make a film of him flying in with his Christmas banners.

Just some simple colouring with my promarkers and then I used a small square die to create the notches in each side of the card panel.  Once I had cut all these out I used my black promarker to create the fil strip effect.

Finishing touches were some glittery sparkle on the robins hat and I used a white Posca pen to create the snow in the scene.

I hope that you like my cards today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Lili of the Valley (LOTV)

Rasha Reindeer - Freebie Digital Stamp - with Julia McNeil Designs

Hello everyone Happy Friday! I hope that you've had a great week and the weather has been kind where you are.... I know there has been a lot of snow over in the UK and its been very cold in some areas.  It's still really sunny and warm here during the day so great weather for working outside but colder in the evenings, not quite cold enough for the fire yet!

JJ has started pruning the trees while the work continues on the era ! I've not been great lately with bad tinnitus for several weeks and then I had my flu and COVID jabs this week which have somewhat floored me but apart from a sore arm I'm feeling a lot better today, so fingers crossed I can get outside and start helping with the pruning.

Today I'm back to share a Christmas card for JMC Designs  that I've made using the November freebie digital stamp - this is Rasha Reindeer and he looks like hes having a few problems with his boots in the snow, hope he masters them before Christmas Eve.

Every month Julia McNeill very generously gives away a fabulous digital stamp, which is available to everyone in her Facebook group JMC's Crazy Crafty Hive and also to her followers via Instagram, all you need is to use your email address to register for the stamp.

Christmas in July - Caroling Snowman with Paper Nest Dolls

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Sunday! I hope that you are having a lovely weekend.

I'm on my blog today with another Christmas in July card and this today I've used an image that I previously coloured with alcohol markers but again I've reached for my coloured pencils to colour a gorgeous image called Caroling Snowman by Paper Nest Dolls

This is an A7 or  5" x 7"  card created with a simple mat layer of black card.

I started off by resizing the sweet image and printing out onto Neenah Desert Storm cardstock, before using my Spectrum Noir pencils to colour the image.

For my wintery scene I have blended distress inks around the background to create a nighttime sky.  I used a hillside stencil and some white dye based ink at the bottom of the panel for my snow scene and then to finish of the card I splattered white pearlescent paint for the snow.

I added white gel pen highlights here and there to finish off my card for today.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my  card for today and will drop by again to see my next project.

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Distress Ink - salty ocean, chipped sapphire

Christmas in July - Have a Tree-mendous Christmas - Pickles Hedgehog with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone wishing you all a wonderful Wednesday !

Its going to be a hot day today here so I'm channelling my inner cool with a snowy scene card - not sure it will work though

I'm here today to share another Christmas card, this time using a digital image from the very cute Pickles Hedgehog collection by Polkadoodles.  Its a great collection and this one is definitely not just for Christmas

This is an A7 or  5" x 7"  card created with a simple mat layer of black card.

I decided to dig out my coloured pencils to create this card so started off by resizing the sweet image of Pickles with his Christmas tree  and adding a sentiment from the Bella Bear Christmas collection at the top before printing out onto Neenah Desert Storm cardstock.

I used my Spectrum Noir pencils and had loads of fun colouring the image before blending distress inks around the background to create a wintery nighttime sky.  I used a hillside stencil and some white dye based ink at the bottom of the panel for my snow scene and then to finish of the card I splattered white pearlescent paint for the snow.

I added white gel pen highlights here and there to finish off my card for today and I have to say I'm loving the look of this and its a nice change from my alcohol markers which definitely don't like the heat much!

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share for Polkadoodles.

All About the Snow - Magic is in the Air - White on White Winter card

Hello everyone I hope you are having a lovely Sunday.....

I've had a few bit and pieces from other card projects on my desk for a few weeks and I thought today it was about time to use them or throw them away so here is a super sparkly Winter snowflake card.

There are a couple of challenges that I have seen too, one to make a white on white card and the other to feature snow so that was the inspiration for this card.

I love the look of monochromatic cards especially using white and it was an opportunity to use up some white glitter card scraps - too good to throw away.

The sparkly snowflakes have been die cut from white glitter card and white glitter craft foam.

The background layer is a piece of upcycled biscuit packaging that I have embossed using a snowflake folder.

I love the effect of the corrugated card with the embossing

To finish off the snowflakes on the design I've die cut some flower centres and then added clear iridescent sequins.

The sentiment is a simple strip sentiment that I've mounted onto card strips for extra dimension.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next card I share on my blog.

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Happy Friday everyone I hope that you are all well and have had a lovely first week of the year.

Tonight here in Spain we celebrate the arrival of the 3 Kings (it's not looking good so far for the town procession sadly as we finally have some long awaited rain, but I'm sure the kings will manage to get here ok anyway)

The first Friday of the month marks the start of a new Challenge for December over on the Pattie's Creations Design Challenge blog

Pattie has some wonderful digital stamps in her Etsy Shop pattiescreations and there is also a freebie every month on the blog that you can use in your project if you want to!

For my January project, I chose the Kitty Snowman digital stamp and made a simple a6 (UK size) card.  I resized the image to suit and printed it out before colouring with Promarkers.  The sentiment in my design panel is from the Jolly Santa collection by Polkadoodles.

This is a one layer card and the background has been created by blending distress inks to create a wintery sky, adding water splatters and then splatters of white ink for the snow.

To finish off the card I added a layer of navy card behind the panel.....

I do hope that you like my card for today and don't forget to join in with this months challenge over on the blog.

I love Promarkers #549 For the Men Sponsored by Dr Digi's House of Stamps

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Wednesday! I hope that you are having a lovely week, not long now until Christmas

I'm on my blog today for the new bi-weekly I Love Promarkers blog challenge , it would be wonderful if you joined us over there if you love to colour with alcohol markers and don't forget there are prizes up for grabs.

You can find all of the rules and details for the challenge over on the blog.

This challenge is being sponsored by Dr. Digi's House of Stamps

Here is my inspiration card for the current blog challenge with the theme - For the Men, using the super cute Patient Pets digital stamp.  I cant decide if they want to go out and play in the snow or stay all warm and cozy inside - I  know what our kitties would choose!

It's a larger 5 " x 7"  scene card created using papers from my stash for the wallpaper and the flooring of the room.

The image was coloured using Promarkers and then fussy cut out.  To create my window I've used a small piece of white card, blending distress inks to create a snowy sky and snow hills and then I've freehand drawn in some fir trees onto the hills.  To create the snow I've splattered the panel with white ink.

For the window I cut a small piece of acetate, adding snow with a posca pen and then assembled this onto the card.

The sentiment has been cut out and adhered to the top of the card to look like a piece of hanging wall art, with brass drops for the fittings.

I blended a little brown distress ink over the background for extra detail and added some copper sequins to tie the design together.

I really hope that you like my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the I Love Markers blog

Digi Choosday - We Wish you a Merry Christmas - Colours of Christmas with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday.  Wishing you all a lovely day today and that you enjoy the week ahead.

It's that time of the week when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is Santa / North Pole & Colours of Christmas and we were given this colour palette to use.

I love making Christmas cards using non traditional colours so really enjoyed this challenge.

For todays card I decided to use one of the fabulous older images from the Winnie Winter land collection of digital stamps.  There are some absolutely gorgeous digital stamps and a great selection of pre-coloured craft sheets too if you prefer not to colour.

Its a simple 5" x 7" card with a scalloped frame of magenta glitter card, keeping the scene the main focus of my card.

I coloured the image with Promarkers (see below for colours) and then blended distress inks over the background to create a  wintery North Pole sky.

The sentiment was printed onto vellum so it wouldn't detract from the scene and adhered into the top corner of my design.

I have a very special DT discount code that you can use for all your shopping on the Polkadoodles online shop at checkout use WENDYJ-10 and you will get 10% of your entire purchase (not in conjunction with other discount codes!)

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.

Merry Christmoose with Patties Creations

Happy Friday everyone I hope that you are all well and have had a lovely week.

Well December is here and we are putting up our decorations today - we always aim for the first Friday in the month, I love putting the decorations up and watching a Christmas film to get us into the spirit.

I hope that if you make your own cards you are nearly finished as its not long today - especially if you are posting cards.  A lot less people send cards these days, blaming the cost of the post but I think its definitely worth it once a year.

Here's another idea for a card if you are still making them.

The first Friday of the month also marks the start of a new Challenge for December over on the Pattie's Creations Design Challenge blog

The challenge runs from the first Friday of the month and its an Anything Goes challenge or our theme for December is Winter around the World, as long as you use a digital or stamped image in your project, so why not join in the challenge.

Winners of the challenge will receive 2 digital stamps of your choice from Pattie's shop.

Pattie has some wonderful digital stamps in her Etsy Shop pattiescreations and there is also a freebie every month on the blog that you can use in your project if you want to!

For my December project, I chose the Holiday Reindeer digital stamp and chose to create a simple 5 " x 7"card.  I resized the image to suit and printed it out before colouring with Promarkers.  The sentiment at the bottom of my design panel is from Polkadoodles Elvis Wesley Moose collection

I then created a second panel blending distress inks to create a wintery sky, adding water splatters and then splatters of white ink for the snow.

I fussy cut the reindeer design, leaving a white snow bank at the base of the panel and then adhered this onto my sky background

To finish off the card I have added a touch of sparkle to his hat.

I do hope that you like my card for today and don't forget to join in with this months challenge over on the blog.

Snow Much Fun - GDT Shaker Card with JMC Designs

Hello everyone  I hope that you have are having lovely day today.

I have some very exciting news to share ! I have been invited to join the Guest Design Team for JMC Designs and I have to say that I'm so excited about this as there are some fabulous quirky and cute designs that I'm going to be working with...some are definitely a very different style for me.

Today I'm here to share my first GDT card that I've made using the November freebie Warm Hugs.

At the start of every month Julia McNeill very generously gives away a fabulous digital stamp, which is available to everyone in her Facebook group JMC's Crazy Crafty Hive and also to her followers via Instagram, all you need is to use your email address to register for the stamp.

When I saw this sweet image I knew I had to make a snow globe card for it!  I've seen loads of snow globe  card designs lately and thought it would be perfect as a shaker card.  Most of them use fancy dies but I've improvised and used some simple circle dies.

It's a 6" x 6" card and I'm so pleased with how it looks -  I wish you could see the sparkle and shine in the photos.   I hope that Julia is happy too!

For the background of the card, I delved into my crafty little hoard and found some deep blue mulberry paper that I've had for many many moons so started by adhering this to a piece of white cardstock before splattering liberally with silver and blue metallic inks.

I used a couple of nesting circle dies to cut out an aperture in this background card and also to cut a thin frame that was adhered to the opening to resemble a Snow Globe.

The centre circle cut from the frame was adhered directly to the base of my card blank and I've added a couple of snowy banks of white card to the bottom of this circle, blended with a little blue distress ink.

I cut a panel of white craft foam, cutting out an aperture to match the base and adhered this to the base card with wet glue.  Once dry I filled this with sparkly glitter and false snow and then encapsulated this with a piece of acetate.

I used a Posca paint pen to add snow to the acetate.

Once the sweet image was coloured in with my Promarkers (see below for the colours), I fussy cut this out and then adhered onto the first layer of acetate.

A second piece of acetate, again with snow dots painted on was adhered over the blue frame to enclose the image.

I really hope that you like my card today and it would be lovely if you you leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

November birthday with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone wishing you all a happy Tuesday.

Today is Digi Choosday and the start of a new challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog

Every Tuesday is DIGI CHOOSDAY! over at Polkadoodles which means not only a brand new crafty 'Anything goes' challenge but also that you get an amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

Why not head over and take a look as it would be wonderful if you could join in as there are prizes to be won !

This week the DT was asked to make a winter birthday card but use no red or green and make a stepper or an easel card.

My Bestie has her birthday in November and she loves the film Frozen so I thought this would be the perfect image.

The digital stamp is from the Winnie Winter Celebrations collection and is called Frozen Birthday and I've coloured it using my Promarkers using a purples and blues for my colour palette.
This digital comes as a black and white image or pre-coloured if you prefer.

To make my stepper card I cut 2 pieces of mulberry coloured card stock

  • 7" x 9 1/2" scored at 3 1/4", 6 1/2" & 8"
  • 5" x 10" scored at 5"
I wanted to make a card to fit a 5 x7 envelope and have a slightly larger centre panel. This is actually a Faux Stepper card as its a lot easier to make and there are loads of instructions on the internet and YouTube if you want to make one similar - mixed up craft has some easy to follow instructions for different versions.

The papers I chose are from 2 collections, Winnie Winter Wishes bundle and the Lou the teacher bundle

My happy birthday sentiment is from the Winnie Daisy Fairy Greetings bundle and I've printed this onto vellum and cut into a simple banner shape.

To finish off my card I've added a few sequins, cosmic shimmer twinkles and die cut a couple of small snowflakes from the papers.

I hope you like my card for today and don't forget to join in with the 'Anything goes' challenge over at the DIGI CHOOSDAY BLOG!
