Digi Choosday - Digi Deal Flower Meadow - In the garden - Butterflies with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you are having a good week....x

It's that time of the week to share some more inspiration for our current 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing Digi Choosday discount off all crafty printable downloads!

Don't Forget that our challenges our now 4 weekly so there's loads of time for you to join in and more chances to win too!

The theme set for the DT this week is to create something using butterflies with am In the garden theme.

I love being in the garden and seeing the beautiful butterflies flying around so this was the perfect theme for me.  I decided to combine some digital papers, a stencil and a beautiful stamp for todays challenge.

I created an upright easel card and started off by choosing a floral gorgeous paper from the Flower Meadow digital kit to layer onto my card with a matt layer of purple card stock.  For the upright panel I used the pale lilac striped paper from the kit as I wanted to add stencilling to this.

I die cut a frame from purple card and used distress inks to add a darker shade at the bottom of the frame.

Next I stamped the beautiful butterfly from the Hearts and Flowers Butterfly stamp set, I wanted a deep purple so used a dark blue ink and a lighter purple over the top to get the colour I wanted.

I used distress inks over the butterfly before cutting out and adhering to the panel with foam tape.

The card stopped is a simple strip of card with a sentiment printed out from the  collection.

Finishing touches were a few pieces of purple confetti around the card and some sparkle to the butterflies.

I hope that you like my project today and you'll enjoy the next that I share from Polkadoodles.

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

A Pocket Hug - Flower Pockets - with Lili of the Valley (LOTV)

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Thursday....All back to normal now after our trip to Mallorca and my aim is to get my blog out most days over the Summer but you know what its like - things happen !

We have some friends coming tomorrow for lunch and then drinks and tapas in town so today were busy getting the garden tidied - we had a few heavy downpours yesterday so currently trying to dry things out.

I'm here today with a pretty floral pocket card for Lili of the Valley (LOTV) featuring one of the images from the gorgeous Flower Pockets stamp set - some of you may have got this in Polymer Stamp for but I'm so happy that its now also available as a digital set of stamps - I think digital stamps are so versatile as they can resized and manipulated so easily for your card design. The digital set is available now from the Etsy shop

My sweet card today features one of the little pockets and I have decoupaged some of the flowers for extra dimension.

The design was printed onto alcohol marker friendly cardstock and printed out before colouring with promarkers and fussy cutting out the extra layers.  To build the card I have used a watercolour style paper with a diamond aperture in the centre and some dark navy card to define the layers.

The little sentiment on the pocket is also from the set.  To finish off the card just a few clear iridescent sequins around the design.

I also made a similar card with the same set of stamps, simply using the flowers and a sentiment without the pocket, but completely forgot to add it to my blog so here it is just in case you haven't seen it.

It just shows how versatile this set is !

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Lili of the Valley (LOTV)

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Digi Choosday - Perfect Peony - with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you are having a good week....

It's that time of the week to share some more inspiration for our current 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing Digi Choosday discount off all crafty printable downloads!

Our challenges our now 4 weekly so there's loads of time for you to join in and more chances to win too!

The theme set for the DT this week is to create a thank you card but not a square or a rectangle.

So I chose to create a circular rocker style card - these are so simple to make and really effective too.  The finished card fits a standard 6" x 6" envelope, so perfect to pop in the post.

I created the base of my card, die cutting  a fancy edged circle from pink card stock and then folding this in half, scoring and burnishing.

I decided for my main image to use the beautiful pre-coloured Perfect Peony digi deal, resizing this to fit my card before printing out 3 times.  I chose a sentiment from the Honey pie Just Lovely greeting bundle and added this to my base layer. These images are perfect when you don't have much time but want to make a beautiful but quick card.

I used a torn edge die to cut out the base image and then fussy cut out extra flowers, decoupaging with foam for dimension.

To finish off my project I added some ultrafine flower soft to the centre of the flowers and some confetti around the design.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.

Enjoy the rest of your day !

The theme set for the DT this week is to create 'anything with friends' so

For the focal image I resized the digital stamp to suit my card size and added one of the fabulous sentiments from the collection at the bottom of the image panel colouring her in with promarkers to match the pretty papers - don't you just love everything about Winnie !

To add more dimension I have die cut some little flowers from blue card and one of the papers and have added these to my design along with a die cut hugs sentiment to the inside panel of the card.

fussy cut out some of the coral from the paper and adhered these around the design and adhered the mermaid sat on her rock using foam tape for dimension

Finishing touches where some aqua and clear iridescent sequins around the design,
white gel pen highlights, clear sparkle on Winnies wings and glossy accents on the flowers.

I hope that you like my project today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles

I Love Promarkers #539 - Use Summery Colours

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Wednesday! I hope that you are having a lovely week and the weather is being kind to you.

My Cousin and her husband are here for a holiday so its lovely catching up and also having a little time off from the gardening especially as its so hot at the moment.

I'm on my blog today for the new bi-weekly I Love Promarkers blog challenge , it would be wonderful if you joined us over there if you love to colour with alcohol markers and don't forget there are prizes up for grabs.

You can find all of the rules and details for the challenge over on the blog.

This challenge is being sponsored by Ching-Chou Kuik

Here is my inspiration card for the current blog challenge with the theme - Use Summery Colours using a beautiful image called Sweet and Fragrant  I love the summer months, the heat the sunshine and the beautiful smells from the flowers in the garden.  We have some wonderful flowers here that smell amazing in the evening whilst its still hot.

Isn't this such a beautiful image - for me summery means hot vibrant colours in the garden so I started this card by choosing a summer paper from my stash.

For today I chose to make a 6" x 6" card I started by adhering my piece of patterned paper to completely cover the card blank, I like to use a glue stick to do this as it makes no mess and doesn't cause the paper to wrinkle.

The image was resized in my graphics software before printing out onto alcohol marker friendly card and colouring with my Promarkers.

For anyone that is interested I like to use Transotype Perfect Colouring Paper for all of my digital images that I am going to colour with Promarkers.

I added a touch of distress ink around the edge of the image and then added a white frame around the design before mounting this onto the card using craft foam.

To finish off the card I have added a die cut sentiment, some clear enamels dots around the image and gemstones to the patterned paper in the flower centres to co-ordinate.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my magical Inspired by a Film card for today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the I Love Markers blog

Thank you with Winnie Celebrations with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone wishing you a very happy Tuesday.  I hope that you are all enjoying the week so far.

It's that time again when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is Thank you,  s
o for todays card I chose to use an image from Winnie Celebrations 1 Collection called Big Bunch.  I think there is nothing better then a huge bunch of beautiful flowers to say thank you but sadly they don't last very long at all whereas a card with huge bouquet lasts forever!

Did you know that the best colour of Rose to send for a thank you is a deep or hot pink !

To create my scene for Winnie I've started with one of the fabulous new backgrounds - Build a Scene - Room with no view then I added a rug and the 3 picture frames from the Build a Scene - Room Furniture set .  The spotty wallpaper in a paper from the Digi deal - Bella Bear Morning Coffee

If you look really closely in the picture frames I've included tiny pre coloured versions of 3 recent digi deals, Natures Beauty, Butterfly Flowerpots and Mod the Cat.  The sentiment which I thought was perfect for the theme is from the Spring Plants Gnome collection which I've printed onto vellum

The image has been coloured with my promarkers (see below for colours) and Ive added a touch of clear sparkle to the roses

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.

Springtime Smiles - Bunny with Flowers with Polkadoodles

Happy Tuesday everyone I hope that you are having a good week so far ! Brr its still a bit chilly here at the moment...but its lovely and sunny and the cold makes us really appreciate the log burner in the lounge.

Although its cold now there are signs of Spring everywhere in the garden and around the area.

It's that time again when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is Spring animals and I chose to use this super sweet Bunny with Flowers for my card today.

I love simple kinetic cards and todays is a really easy one to make but gives loads of space for extra papers and messages.

Its a 6" x 6" flip card and I've incorporated a heart flip panel although you can make flip cards with different shapes and without dies too if you don't have any.

The card folds flat for posting but when you open it the heart panel flips over to reveal a hidden message.

For my flip panel card i have used a piece of cardstock that is 12" x 6" and then scored this along the 12" side at 6".

I have also used a pencil to make a feint pencil line at 3".

On the panel with the pencil line position the die shape , a heart in my case over this, lining up the die centrally over the pencil line.

The card can then be passed through the die cutting machine to partially cut the chosen shape.  I only want the heart shape cut on the left part of my top panel so you can do this easily by lining up the top cutting plate with the part that you want to be cut.

There are loads of excellent video tutorials showing how to do this and how to create different sizes of cards.  This is one I like by Sam Calcott of Mixed Up Craft that is great for explaining how to recreate these simple cards.

Once the card base is ready the fun part is decorating it.  I started by resizing the digital image from the Springtime Smiles - Bunny Rabbit with Bunch of Flowers on my computer to neatly fit my heart shape - its important that the image doesn't overhang the cut part of the heart as this will interfere with the movement of the card as its opened and closed.

As always I coloured my image with Promarkers (colours listed below) and I've then used different coordinating papers from the Lets Hang Out paper bundle to decorate the card.

The sentiments I've used on the outside and inside of the card are from the Gnome for Spring bundle

To finish off the card I've used a flower punch - yes I still have these and use them every now and then ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ, cutting out flowers from one of the papers before shaping them, adding Candi centres and glossy accents to the centres.

I hope that you like my card for today and will come back to see my next project
