Digi Choosday - Thank you cards with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday.  Wishing you all a lovely day today and that you enjoy the week ahead, I hope that you have something nice planned.

It's that time of the week when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is Thank you or Thanksgiving so I decided to make a sweet and simple thank you card, what better way to say thankyou to a special friend.  I love to send cards like this, just because and not for a particular event or occasion...but this one is for my BFFs birthday yesterday.

I decided to create an inky background panel to start with using 3 warmer colours of distress inks, using water and watercolour cardstock. I dried this off between each layer of colour and then once completely dry used a simple stitched die to cut out a smaller panel for my A6 card, leaving a large white border around the design.

Next I resized the sweet Noodle Panda image to suit the design and then printed out onto alcohol marker friendly cardstock before colouring with my Promarkers (see below) and then fussy cutting out.

To add interest to the design I mounted the inky panel into the centre of my A6 card blank and added a stitched die cut border to the bottom of the image.

I added a few pieces of sparkly pink confetti around the design to finish it off, all ready for posting to my bestie.

Thank you with Winnie Celebrations with Polkadoodles

The theme set for the DT this week is Thank you,  so for todays card I chose to use an image from Winnie Celebrations 1 Collection called Big Bunch.  I think there is nothing better then a huge bunch of beautiful flowers to say thank you but sadly they don't last very long at all whereas a card with huge bouquet lasts forever!

Did you know that the best colour of Rose to send for a thank you is a deep or hot pink !

To create my scene for Winnie I've started with one of the fabulous new backgrounds - Build a Scene - Room with no view then I added a rug and the 3 picture frames from the Build a Scene - Room Furniture set .  The spotty wallpaper in a paper from the Digi deal - Bella Bear Morning Coffee

If you look really closely in the picture frames I've included tiny pre coloured versions of 3 recent digi deals, Natures Beauty, Butterfly Flowerpots and Mod the Cat.  The sentiment which I thought was perfect for the theme is from the Spring Plants Gnome collection which I've printed onto vellum

The image has been coloured with my promarkers (see below for colours) and Ive added a touch of clear sparkle to the roses

Thank you flowers from Bentley with Last Minute Manda

Happy Sunday everyone I hope that your weekend is going well.  

Its still very hot here and its been around 35C a few times this week but the evenings are definitely cooling off a little quicker, the mornings are feeling fresher for a little longer and fingers crossed we may see some rain soon. 

The other signs that Summer is coming to an end are the changing colours around our garden and on the surrounding mountains as the leaves start to take on the autumn colours. 

Today I am sharing my latest DT make for Last minute Manda.

For my first Autumnal card of the year I've used Bentley with some flowers from the Bentley Rain or Shine collection.

I love this cute little bear and he's perfect for so many different occasions - today I decided to make a thank you card. 

The green leafy paper that I have used in the background to form a window and the small Thankyou sentiment are from the Craftwork Cards Hedgerow collection 

Behind the aperture I have created some rolling hills and a cloudy sky stencilled using distress inks and stencils from Lawn Fawn.

The branches were cut using dies from Lisa Horton Crafts and the leaves 

I created an alcohol ink panel some time ago using a piece of glossy photo paper ( I couldn't find my Yupo paper but this worked really well) and thought this would be perfect to use to die cut leaves using a Crafters Companion leaf die for the branch

Just wanted to say……Thanks

Hello everyone…… I hope that you’ve had a lovely weekend and for those in the U.K. that you have enjoyed the platinum Jubilee celebrations ☀️ 

We’ve been busy again this weekend 🙄🙄building a new pergola at the pool and trying to get on top of some long overdue weeding.  The house painting is well underway and it’s even starting to look white again! 

I thought I’d share the other card that I’ve made for my son Jack to give to his other manager when he leaves….the only inspiration from Jack for this one was ‘he likes to sleep’ 😂😂🙄🙄…. So I decided to keep it simple and created one of my kitchen roll cards…. These are so simple to create but I think perfect…. Especially for those boys.

This time I decided to use a 3D embossing folder and a large word die from Lisa Horton Crafts . I’ve created an ombré effect for my word using distress inks and then stacked 3 extra die cuts behind the word for dimension. I decided to add a vellum shadow layer behind the word too for a little extra definition.

I’ve got some very exciting news to share with you all soon…. Can’t wait to tell you what but I’m m going to have to sit on my hands and not spill the beans for now 😂😂

My favourite person from Mama Elephant

Happy Thursday everyone…… wishing you a lovely day today ☀️ 

I’ve been pottering around this morning in the garden but have stopped now as it’s far to hot to work anymore…. JJ has been busy treating some wood for a new pergola he is building by the pool and the painters arrived at 8am to start painting the house so it’s all go here….. ad usual 😂😂

My son Jack who lives in the  U.K. is changing jobs at the beginning of July and he asked me to make a couple of Thank you cards for his current two managers…. They’re done and in the post, winging their way over to him (fingers crossed 🤞 they arrive ok )

One of the cards is for a cat lover so I thought my new stamps from Mama Elephant called My favourite person would be perfect !

I’ve used my Promarkers to colour in the image and created a simple rainbow background with a dotty stencil.

I’m off to sit in the shade and do a little colouring now before we have lunch and then I’m off for a walk at 7pm with the town walking group.
