A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #811 - Fun Folds - Sponsored by Dis Digital Designs

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely day - I hope that week is going well for you, October is definitely flying by - it'll be you know what before long LOL

There's a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in.

This weeks challenge theme of 'Fun Folds' has been chosen by Kitty for team 2 and is being sponsored by Dis Digi Stamps

For my Fun fold card today I decided to create an A6 size pop up card using a sweet image by Polkadoodles. This is Flower Fairy from the Winnie Daisy Fairy collection

My pop up card today is really easy to make but I think fun, its a smaller C6 size and folds flat for posting.

The card base is a piece of card measuring 5 1/2" x 9" scored at 2" on both sides, then flip the card over and score at 3 1/4" on both sides

You can obviously adjust these measurements to create a larger or smaller version.

Winnie was resized to suit the card base and printed out onto alcohol friendly card before colouring with promarkers and fussy cutting out.

I used the pretty papers to decorate the panels of the card , die cut oval shapes for Winnie to be adhered to and also created flowers from the papers to decorate the design, adding candi and glossy accents to the flower centres.

Finishing touches were some gold confetti around the design and white gelly roll pen highlights.

I hope that you join in with the challenge as there is a prize from the sponsor for our lucky winner!

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Hello and a happy Tuesday to you all ! I hope your new year has started well so far and if you are affected by the heavy falls of snow in the UK stay safe and keep warm.

Today as things get back to normal after the Christmas holiday, I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge.

This weeks challenge is being sponsored by Clearly Besotted and our them this week was chosen for team 2 by the lovely Linda.  I chose to use a gorgeous image by Polkadoodles

I chose to use a really sweet image from the latest Winnie Daisy Fairy collection.  This is image is Bluebell Flower and I have created a DL card for this with a layer of pretty leafy paper from the collection and one of the sentiments.

I resized the image to suit my card blank and then printed out onto alcohol friendly card stock before colouring with my promarkers and then fussy cutting out.

I chose to die cut a simply scalloped frame from vellum for the panel and then adhered this and the coloured image to the card along with the large printed sentiment.

The finishing touches for my card today were white gel pen highlights a touch of glitter gel to the flower stamens and some coordinating sequins around the design.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the

To add more dimension I have die cut some little flowers from blue card and one of the papers and have added these to my design along with a die cut hugs sentiment to the inside panel of the card.

fussy cut out some of the coral from the paper and adhered these around the design and adhered the mermaid sat on her rock using foam tape for dimension

April Birthstone card - White on White - Digi Choosday - Oh Happy Day with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday.  Wishing you all a lovely day today and that you enjoy your week ahead...

It's that time of the week when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is April Birthstone Diamond using white on white and to include a wraparound or a belly band as some people call them (not my favourite name as it sounds like some sort of medical weight loss device!)

Today's card features one of the gorgeous digital stamps from the Let's Hang Out collection - who can resist Winnie after all.  I started by resizing the image for my card design and printing this out along with one of the sweet sentiments from the collection.

I chose a couple of pretty pastel papers from the Noodle Panda collection and then used these pastel shades as inspiration to colour the image with Promarkers (see below for the colours used).

I don't often make pastel coloured cards, opting for brighter richer shades but it was nice for a change to make something lighter and definitely very girly. Good to use different pens too!

I decided to create a 5" x 7" pop out gatefold card and if you are looking for instructions on this then I suggest watching the great tutorial by Sam Calcott - Mixed Up Craft  I started with a piece of white card measuring 10" x 7" and then scored this at 2 1/2", 7 1/2" .

Then flip the card over and score at 4 1/2" and 5 1/2"  Its such a simple card fold and looks beautiful decorated, lots of areas to used pretty papers and works well with loads of focal images.

I used the papers from the noodle collection layer directly onto the card base, no matting as I wanted to keep the white borders showing, I chose to keep two of the inside panels white too to keep in with the them as much as possible.

There is white space too on the reverse of the card for a message to be written.  Once the sweet Winnie was coloured I fussy cut her out.  Next I used a couple of nesting diamond dies to cut two pieces of the same white card (using the same card stock means they will match perfectly.

The smaller of the diamonds was embossed using a 3D embossing folder to give a faceted look - that's what makes diamonds shine so well.   I adhered the diamonds together and then added Winnie to the centre before adding the diamond to the small pop out section of the card.

Finally the sentiment was simple cut and also adhered at the bottom of the pop out.  To finish the inside of the card I decided to die cut a floral border from the white card, adding this to the edges of the card panels covered with lilac paper.

Finishing touches where some super sparkly aurora borealis gems and white glossy drops around the design and on Winnie's dress along with white gel pen highlights.

The wraparound or belly band is very simple, you just need a piece of card 1 1/2" in width ( white in my case for the white on white theme) and long enough to wrap loosely around the closed card. If its two tight it will be hard to slide on and off the  closed card.

I also die cut two white diamonds and embossed the top one as on the inside of the card and adhered this to the wrap around.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles

Enjoy the rest of your day !

The theme set for the DT this week is Santa / North Pole & Colours of Christmas and we were given this colour palette to use.

I love making Christmas cards using non traditional colours so really enjoyed this challenge.

For todays card I decided to use one of the fabulous older images from the Winnie Winter land collection of digital stamps.  There are some absolutely gorgeous digital stamps and a great selection of pre-coloured craft sheets too if you prefer not to colour.

Its a simple 5" x 7" card with a scalloped frame of magenta glitter card, keeping the scene the main focus of my card.

I coloured the image with Promarkers (see below for colours) and then blended distress inks over the background to create a  wintery North Pole sky.

The sentiment was printed onto vellum so it wouldn't detract from the scene and adhered into the top corner of my design.

I have a very special DT discount code that you can use for all your shopping on the Polkadoodles online shop at checkout use WENDYJ-10 and you will get 10% of your entire purchase (not in conjunction with other discount codes!)

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.

Digi Choosday - Let's Go for a Picnic with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday.  Wishing you all a lovely day today and that you enjoy the week ahead, I hope that you have something nice planned.

It's that time of the week when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is Food/BBQ/Picnic and to use this colour palette

So I chose to use a pre-coloured digital image from the Winnie Special Moments collection called Let's Go for a Picnic

I know lots of crafters who don't like to colour digital or stamped images, for lots of different reasons and I wanted to show that you can make some really beautiful cards with the pre-coloured digital images and a little fussy cutting and layering.

I chose some extra butterflies, trees and grass and printed these out onto some lighter weight card stock (250GSM) along with the pre-coloured digital image.

I started by creating my base card for today which is an M- fold card, I have used a 6 x 6" card blank and an extra piece of card that measures 5 1/4" x 9 1/2".

The base card blank was completely covered with a piece of pretty gingham paper and then I have scored the additional card along the long side at 2" and 4" , folding these concertina style.

I added the digital sentiment and two butterflies from the embellishment bundle before printing out the green digital paper and then adhering this to the larger panel of the scored card.

Next I have adhered this scored card to the main 6"x 6" card centrally so the gingham is visible.

I added additional blue paper to the bottom of the lower fold and then adhered all my fussy cut out images to create this sweet little scene.

To finish off the card I added just a few pieces of co-ordinating confetti and some cosmic shimmer sparkle to the water around the stepping stones.

When me and JJ go walking in the mountains, I can guarantee that he always has to help me cross over little streams and rocks just like Winne and Rocco

Thank you with Winnie Celebrations with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone wishing you a very happy Tuesday.  I hope that you are all enjoying the week so far.

It's that time again when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is Thank you,  s
o for todays card I chose to use an image from Winnie Celebrations 1 Collection called Big Bunch.  I think there is nothing better then a huge bunch of beautiful flowers to say thank you but sadly they don't last very long at all whereas a card with huge bouquet lasts forever!

Did you know that the best colour of Rose to send for a thank you is a deep or hot pink !

To create my scene for Winnie I've started with one of the fabulous new backgrounds - Build a Scene - Room with no view then I added a rug and the 3 picture frames from the Build a Scene - Room Furniture set .  The spotty wallpaper in a paper from the Digi deal - Bella Bear Morning Coffee

If you look really closely in the picture frames I've included tiny pre coloured versions of 3 recent digi deals, Natures Beauty, Butterfly Flowerpots and Mod the Cat.  The sentiment which I thought was perfect for the theme is from the Spring Plants Gnome collection which I've printed onto vellum

The image has been coloured with my promarkers (see below for colours) and Ive added a touch of clear sparkle to the roses

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.
