Digi Choosday - Theo Penguin collection - Big Hat Day - Non Traditional Christmas colours - with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you are having a good week....So, November is here and I think it's about time we got a little bit more Christmassy...it's not long to go after all and those cards need to be made and posted.

It's that time of the week to share some more inspiration for our current 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing Digi Choosday discount off all crafty printable downloads!

Don't Forget that our challenges our now 4 weekly so there's loads of time for you to join in and more chances to win too!

The theme set for the DT this week is Anything with non traditional Christmas or Winter colours.

I decided to use a cute little digital stamp from the Theo Penguin collection for this weeks card making a Winter card that could easily be used at Christmas too!

The main Theo image is  called Big Hat Day and he was, resized and coloured with promarkers before fussy cutting out.

For the background I chose 3 alcohol markers in purple, teal and blue and used these to scribble onto a piece of vellum, adding alcohol to the scribbles to get the colours to blend and flow. It's a really fun technique and gives some fabulous effects.

When I was happy with the overall effect and before the ink was completely dry I applied some electric blue foil to the areas that were still tacky.  I decided I wanted more foil so then splattered foil glue across the panel and once this has gone tacky applied more of the same foil.  It's super shiny and I love how it looks.

The coloured sentiment from the collection was printed and layered onto the pale aqua card after die cutting a stitched wavy border

To finish off the design I added some sparkly aqua blue gems and white pen highlights around the design.

I hope that you like my project today and you'll enjoy the next that I share from Polkadoodles.

New Release - Christmas in July - Photo Strip - Penguin with Lili of the Valley LOTV

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Friday....I hope you have all had a great week....we finally both seem to be over our nasty cough and colds - its been about 8 weeks and I thought it was never going away...fingers crossed.

We've ordered our acequia water today so I'm off to help out with the watering - hopefully the plants will love it!

I'm here today with another Christmas card for Lili of the Valley (LOTV) using one of the new Photo booth digital stamp sets.

This card feature the Penguin Photo Strip set set available in the Etsy shop.

These are such versatile stamps and can be used all together as one image or you can split them as I have done to create my card today......did I mention that I think are adorable and there's a sale on in the shop at the moment until 31st July so don't miss out!

This is the front of the card which is an A7 Landscape card, I've used one of the gorgeous papers from the Essential Papers Frosty Christmas set, layered onto silver glitter card.  The sentiment was stamped and cut out and I used a very old snowflake punch to add a little detail around the word.

A beautiful card in itself but then when you open up the card you get a wonderful surprise!

Its the silly penguin trying to get photos of himself in the photo booth - oh my goodness what is he doing.. LOL

Just some simple colouring with my promarkers and matting with coloured card.  I added each little panel to the pop out W strip a little wonky and I think it works really well.

The paper on the inside of my card is from an old paper pad but I thought the design was perfect for this penguins antics.

Finishing touches were some glittery sparkle on the penguins hat and little punched snowflakes.

I hope that you like my cards today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Lili of the Valley (LOTV)

A Snowflake is a Winter's Butterfly with JMC Designs

Hello everyone Happy Monday I hope that you had a great weekend.  It's time for me to post my next project for JMC Designs

For my card today I have used the Winter Whispers Digital Collection... It's still officially Winter here and I can just about see the snow on the Sierra Nevada but the temperatures have been more like early summer and the snow is disappearing fast.

Still chilly in the evenings and were making use of the log burner but its definitely not cold!

For todays card I decided to use the beautiful digital stamp  Arctic Sparkle, resizing her  to suit my 5" x 7" card and colouring with my Promarkers.  Iv'e added lots of sparkly highlights and shimmer to this Wintery girl.

Next I created my background panel, I've used the snowflake accessories that are included in the complete collection, adding these to my card panel before printing on my LaserJet printer.  To add sparkle I've then used teal foil for added sparkle.

Once foiled I then used several distress inks to add colour to the panel and then splattered with water droplets and droplets of blue distress ink.

As well as looking beautiful, the foil acts as a resist to the ink and gives a beautiful shine to the card.

The sentiment from the complete collection was also printed out and foiled in silver

I have added little sparkles around the panel with a white gel pen and adhered a few sparkly gems.

The background panel was mounted onto silver mirror card, along with the sentiment and then adhered to a white card base and the coloured focal image adhered using foam tape for dimension.

I added some of the tiny gems to the bottom of her skirt too, to tie in with the background.

I really hope that you like my card today and it would be lovely if you you leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

All About the Snow - Magic is in the Air - White on White Winter card

Hello everyone I hope you are having a lovely Sunday.....

I've had a few bit and pieces from other card projects on my desk for a few weeks and I thought today it was about time to use them or throw them away so here is a super sparkly Winter snowflake card.

There are a couple of challenges that I have seen too, one to make a white on white card and the other to feature snow so that was the inspiration for this card.

I love the look of monochromatic cards especially using white and it was an opportunity to use up some white glitter card scraps - too good to throw away.

The sparkly snowflakes have been die cut from white glitter card and white glitter craft foam.

The background layer is a piece of upcycled biscuit packaging that I have embossed using a snowflake folder.

I love the effect of the corrugated card with the embossing

To finish off the snowflakes on the design I've die cut some flower centres and then added clear iridescent sequins.

The sentiment is a simple strip sentiment that I've mounted onto card strips for extra dimension.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next card I share on my blog.

Enjoy the rest of your day !

The theme set for the DT this week is to make a Christmas in July card using this colour palette. I know its not July when this is posted but it was made in July ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

As I absolutely adore penguins I decided to use Theo the Penguin for my card today choosing Sweet Candy Stick Theo for my focal image

I started by choosing one of the papers from the set for my background, I chose the Snowflake paper as it was perfect for this colour palette and in my graphics software I created a panel to suit a 5 x 7 card and added one of the sentiments from the collection to the top of this panel.

I then adhered this to my card blank adding a layer of navy cardstock for a small mat layer

I also printed out the cute Theo image on alcohol marker friendly card stock and coloured this with my promarkers, sticking to the given colour palette - well apart from Theo obviously !

Next I die cut some snowflakes from glitter cardstock and adhered these to the panel finally mounting my fussy cut our Theo on foam tape.

To finish off the card I added just a few co-ordinating sequins.

Snowflake Wonder with Pink Gem Designs

Hello everyone - wishing you a wonderful Saturday. Brr its getting colder here every day but still no sign of any rain - there has been a dusting of snow on the surrounding mountains but its still very sunny during the day.

I'm here today to share another Christmas card that I've made using a gorgeous digital stamp set Snowflake Wonder by Pink Gem Designs

For my card today I have used the black and white digital but the set includes a gorgeous pre-coloured version too if you prefer not to colour or just need to make quick cards.

For todays A6 sized card I started by resizing the cute mice on my computer before printing them out and colouring with my Promarkers.

I then decided to use a snowflake background from Lili of the Valley - I'm still on a mission to use up more of my paper stash mountain whenever I can!

I used distress inks around the edge of the paper panel - this helps to draw the eye into the centre of the design and then added some tiny little gems to the centres of each snowflake.

I used dies to cut two snow banks for the bottom of my card and then adhered the cute mice to the card using low profile foam tape.

The sentiment is a washi sentiment from Lisa Horton Crafts.

Just a little sparkle added to the snowflake on the mouse girls hat and pompom and a really simple but I think very cute little card and so easy to make.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project.

New Release - Theo the Penguin - Pile of Gifts with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone - I hope that you have had a lovely Sunday.

I have another card for you today from the very cute new digital release Theo the Penguin from Polkadoodles.

This digital is called Pile of Gifts and I think would be great for lots of different celebrations. I used the black and white digital stamp and coloured him with my promarkers but he is also available as a pre-coloured image

I added some simple stencilling in red ink to the top of a plain white tag using the Heavenly Circles stencil and then adhered some of the patterned paper from paper bundle 4 to the bottom of the tag along with some red satin ribbon before added my fussy cut penguin to the tag using foam tape.  The sentiment is from the greetings bundle. and I've inked the edges to match my stencilling and then added some iridescent gemstones to the tag.

The tag would be perfect added to a Christmas gift as it is but I wanted to add it to a simple 6 x 6 card.

I've chose extra papers from the paper bundle 1 and layered these on my card base adding a snowflake border, die cut from matching red card.

I added some extra die cut some snowflakes and ribbon to the top of my tag to finish off.

It's a little bit more fussy than my normal style of cards but I wanted to make something bright and cheerful and am really happy with how it turned out.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from this cute new Theo the Penguin collection.
