Digi Choosday - Thinking of you always - Mothers Day - Birthday Card - Fence Card - Udderly Cute Collection - with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you're having a great week.  It was our wedding anniversary yesterday so we had a quick trip down to the coast for a walk on the beach and a lovely lunch.  I love the sound of the waves and the sunshine reflecting on the water so it sparkles - very special to see.

It's that time of the week to share some more inspiration for our current 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing Digi Choosday discount off all crafty printable downloads!

Don't Forget that our challenges our now 4 weekly so there's loads of time for you to join in and more chances to win too!

The theme set for the DT this week is to make a Mothers Day or Mothers Birthday card...my Mum absolutely loved her garden and I think anything with flowers always reminds me of her.  I decided that I would create a Fence Card or Lattice card as it would be perfect with the papers and ephemera from the
Udderly Cute Collection

The finished card fits an A7 or 5" x 7" envelope.  I started with a piece of white card measuring 4 3/4" x 11 1/2" scoring this at 5 3/8 to create the base card.  On the shorter side of the card I then cut off 6 strips each measuring  1/2".  I also cut 2 strips measuring 3/4 " width by 4 3/4", these are for the fence posts.

I adhered some of the wood grain paper from the collection to the wood posts and planks and then adhered them to the card using a strip of masking tape to hold the card in position whilst the glue dried.  There are loads of tutorials on YouTube explaining how to create this type of card as it definitely was very popular last year. Have a look here on YouTube for a variation of the fence or lattice style card.

I used another of the floral papers to decorate the top section and the inside of the card.

Next I used my ScanNCut to cut out the elements from the Spring is Here SVG pack and blended a little distress ink to the sides of the plant pot to give it dimension.

The pretty daisy ephemera from the collection was perfect for my design so I arranged this on the fence panel before adding the little plant pot over the top of the bottom of the stems.

To finish off the card I added one of the little strip sentiments and some of the heart ephemera to the design.

to give the card a special look I scatted sparkly gems around the design and added some clear sparkle to the hearts.

I hope that you like my project today and you'll enjoy the next that I share from Polkadoodles.

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Digi Choosday - Just Thinking about you - Mothers Day Card - Udderly Cute Collection - with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you're having a great week

The theme set for the DT this week is  to make a Mothers Day card following this colour palette.

I don't really make Mothers Day cards, I prefer to make a thinking of you card instead as it' can be a difficult time for lots of people - I like to create a card that I think my mum would have loved to receive .

When I saw the colour palette I immediately thought of the the brand new Udderly Cute Collection  and specifically the ephemera.

The card is a simple smaller A6 card with a layer of pretty floral paper from the collection in the background.

I die cut an arched panel and a circular panel from grey and white cardstock, stamping the sentiment onto the circular panel

I challenged myself this year to start using my Scan n Cut machine rather than fussy cutting by hand and the ephemera sheets were so easy to cut on the machine.

I chose one of the ephemera sheets cutting out the elements and then layered these onto my card some flat and some adhered with foam tape.

To finish off the card I added lovely sparkle to the macaron and the hearts and a scattering of sparkly pink sequins.

I hope that you like my project today and you'll enjoy the next that I share from Polkadoodles.

Digi Choosday - Mother's Day - Not a card - with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you are having a good week....

It's that time of the week to share some inspiration for our current 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing Digi Choosday discount off all crafty printable downloads!

Our challenges our now 4 weekly so there's loads of time for you to join in and more chances to win too!

The theme set for the DT this week is to create a Mother's Day project but not a card.

I decided to create a little embroidery hoop picture - its's definitely something that my mum would have loved to hang up on a wall.

I decided to use the beautiful pre-coloured image from the Pretty Flower Wreath Digi Deal for my project today, resizing this to suit the size of the embroidery hoop and adding this onto a layer of floral paper from the kit before printing out.

I then printed this out onto thin card and also onto vellum, using a torn edge die to cut out the main image.

Next I stretched a peice of cream fabric into the embroidery frame, trimming of the excess and then using Mod Podge to seal the edges at the back of the hoop.

I covered the front of the fabric with a layer of white gesso and allowed this to completely dry before adhering the die cut out image onto the hoop and covering with Mod Podge to seal the design.

I then fussy cut out some of the flowers and extra butterflies that i had printed onto vellum and used a clear 3D silicone glue gel to adhere these onto the image.

To finish off my project I added some super sparkly crystal gems around the design and threaded purple twine to hang the hoop onto a wall.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.

Digi Choosday - Mother's Day - January girl - I've been thinking about you with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday.  Wishing you all a lovely day today and that you enjoy your week ahead...

It's that time of the week when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is Mother's Day so I decided to make a Thinking of you card, Mother's Day is always a difficult day for so many of us and I decided to make this card to send to a special friend just to let her know that I'm thinking about her!

I chose to use a digital stamp from the beautiful January collection called Glass Half Full, she's so sweet and perfect for the card I wanted to send.

This is a very simple Pop up card that fits into an A6 envelope.  The card base has been cut from teal cardstock and then I've layered a colourful dotty paper from the Happy Cactus collection.

I used this colour palette to colour my

January girl before die cutting out with a circle die.  I blended a little teal distress ink around the edge of the image and added some coordinating die cut hearts and gems. For a little extra detail I die cut two borders from the teal card and adhered these to the edges of the card.

The sentiment was printed onto thin card and foiled in teal with my Minc Machine, before adding t to bottom of the popup panel.

Just a few co-ordinating gems were added to the hearts on the card.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles

Winnie Daisy Fairy - Taking a Break with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone wishing you a very happy Tuesday.  I hope that you have a lovely day today and enjoy the week ahead.

I'm off to my Spanish Ladies Crafty group later on today - wish me luck as my Spanish needs loads of work but its craft so I ll give it a go!

It's that time again when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is Mothers Day, but as
I don't make specific Mothers day cards anymore, I decided to make a card that would be perfect to send to a friend just to let her know that I'm thinking about her on Mothers Day, or any occasion really.

I chose to use Winnie Daisy Fairy - Taking a Break Toadstool as my main image and decided to combine this with one of the fabulous new backgrounds that Nikky Hall has brought us recently.

I added Winnie to the Country Road Scene background on my computer and the sentiment is from Winnie Special Moments bundle

I wonder if Winnie has carried her toadstool on her walk or just found it at the side of the path ?

The image and background have been coloured with my promarkers (see below for colours) for this one layer card and I'm really made up with how it looks.

If you love colouring but like me you don't feel able to create your own background from scratch then these backgrounds are just perfect  so why not give it a go !

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.

Springtime Smiles Bunny and Easter Cake with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone wishing you a very happy Tuesday.  I hope that you are all enjoying the week so far.

We've had a really busy couple of weeks here with Easter and then lots of shopping for a wedding we are going to in May.  I'm really looking forward to it as it's in France and we are extending the trip too after the wedding for a little sightseeing and relaxing.

We haven't had a real holiday since we moved to Spain (I suppose every day is like a holiday really - but we do work hard most days in the garden).

It's that time again when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is Mum,  sadly I don't make any of these cards anymore and I rarely get asked to make them either but I am still inspired to create cards that I think my Mum would love to have received and ones I would like to get too.  I also think this would make a perfect birthday card.

So for todays card I chose to use a sweet little bunny from the Springtime Smiles collection called Bunny Rabbit with Easter Cake, I think a perfect image for a card for a Mum and I've teamed it with a perfect sentiment from the Lets Hang Out collection.

I've kept my card really simple, a panel of pretty floral paper from Winnie Sunshine Delights Paper Pack 1  for the background and the sentiment is on a floating panel at the bottom of the card.  I've used a wavy border die to cut the edge of the sentiment panel for interest, blending a little distress ink on the edge of the border and mounting it on foam tape off the card.

The sweet bunny image was coloured with my promarkers (see below for colours) and I've fussy cut this out to mirror the sentiment panel.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.

Mothers Day - Darling Buds Snowdrop with Polkadoodles

Happy Tuesday everyone I hope that you are having a good week so far ! Brr its still a bit chilly here at the moment in the evenings and out of the sun but  the forecast for the end of the week currently says 27C on Friday !

Spring has definitely arrived and my small patch of daffodils and crocuses are in bloom - there were some snowdrops but these seem to have disappeared.

It's that time again when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is Mothers Day - not an easy time for lots of us whose Mums are no longer around so I decided to make a Thinking of you card featuring Snowdrop from the Darling Buds collection

My Mum used to love seeing all the spring flowers in her garden but especially the snowdrops.

I created a Faux Stepper card sized to fit a 5" x 7" envelope from a pale green cardstock  and chose co-ordinating papers from the Happy Cactus collection paper set 2

I love this style of card as its perfect to create a little scene and use pretty papers at the same time.  I have had a snowdrop die in my collection for many years and decided this would be the perfect addition to my card.

I hope that you like my card for today and will come back to see my next project
