A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #788 - Favourite Colour Combination - Sponsored by The Paper Shelter

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely day - We're back after a wonderful long weekend away in Mallorca, had a fabulous time and it was great to have a break away too with lots of sightseeing and lots of relaxing too.

Today I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in.

This weeks challenge theme of 'Favourite Colour Combination' has been chosen by Karen for team 2 and is being sponsored by The Paper Shelter

For my eclipse style card today I chose to use a pretty digital image Hammock Days to create a pretty birthday card.

I resized the image to suit a 6" x 6" card and then printed it on alcohol friendly card before colouring with promarkers and then fussy cutting it out.

The image also comes with a pretty background paper to match so I resized this to suit the card blank and added a sentiment to the panel before printing.

To create the eclipse effect I used a smaller die to cut out the centre of the paper, adhering this directly onto the card blank.  Then I added foam tape to the outer border of the paper, tucking the sweet girl underneath before adhering the frame to the card.  The little girl is hanging free between the outer frame sides.

The finishing touches were some drops of stickles to the flower  centres at the bottom and some white gel pen highlights.

I hope that you join in with the challenge as there is a prize from the sponsor for our lucky winner!

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog

Hugs and Fishes - Aquatic Adventures Collection with Julia McNeill Designs

Hello everyone Happy Friday everyone !  I hope that you have had a great week and are looking forward to the weekend.

Today I'm here to share a cute card that I have made using one of my favourite collections by JMC Designs.  Its the Aquatic Adventures collection and its packed with lots of fishy fun. This collection will be back on the website very soon

Its an A6 card loaded with pre-coloured elements, a paper and a sentiment from the collection. I started with one of the papers and then stencilled coral over the top in green and yellow ink.  Next I used a hillside die to cut some yellow card for the sand at the bottom of the sea, blending distress ink over the edge to separate the layers.  Foam tape was used to adhere the sand.

I then added lots of fish and different coral which had been fussy cut out, some flat to the card and others on foam for depth.  The sentiment was fussy cut out and ink blended with green and blue ink before adhering this to the design.

The finishing touches were stickles around the design, glossy accents bubbles and for the fishes eyes and some extra white pen highlights

I do hope that you like my card for today and I'd love it if you'd leave me a comment.

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Fluffy Kisses - Love you to the Moon - Bunny Rocket - New Release with Lili of the Valley (LOTV)

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Friday.... I hope you have had a lovely week and have something nice planned for the weekend.

I'm back today with a card project for Lili of the Valley (LOTV) using one of the gorgeous  stamps from the brand new release  called Fluffy Kisses and is full of fluffy bunnies.

There are digi stamps for you to colour and there is also an A5 set of of Polymer stamps which is available to pre-order now from the Etsy shop.

If you don't like to colour then there are also beautifully coloured Simply Prints available too so something for everyone.

My card today is using one of the sweetest digital stamps stamps from the Fluffy Kisses collection . This image is Bunny Rocket  and I think this would be perfect for an anniversary card or just to send lots of love to someone special.

As well as the launch of these fabulous new digital and Polymer bunny stamps there are some gorgeous new backing papers too.  I have used one of the galaxy style papers for my card today from the Cosmic collection.

This is a larger A7 or 5" x 7" pop up frame card - they are really easy to create.... I have cut the pop up frame from a piece of purple card...here are the dimensions if you want them.

Cardstock measuring 8 1/2" x 5" scored along the long edge at 1/4", 1/2" and 3/4 "  on both sides.  Then use a rectangular die to create the aperture, before folding and burnishing the edge of the frame.

I adhered a layer of the Cosmic paper to the card blank before adhering the popup frame on top.

I printed the image on my LaserJet printer onto Neenah Desert Storm card for a more natural feel and then coloured with my Promarkers, adding texture and extra fluffiness to the bunny with my Polychromos pencils.

Then I have added black foil over the bunny and gold foil over the flame from the rocket. Its so difficult to see in the photo which is quite annoying as its beautiful in real life.

I die cut and extra fluffy cloud to adhere to the bottom of the frame, blending distress inks to match the Cosmic paper background.

I cut a strip of acetate and adhered this into the concertina folds of the frame, across the aperture and then adhered the bunny to the acetate strip.  The sentiment was printed onto dessert storm card and adhered to the bottom of the frame.

Finishing touches were some stickles on the cosmic shimmer background to highlight the stars and a scattering of galaxy confetti around the design.

Digi Choosday - Wednesdays - Christmas Adult birthday with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday...

It's that time of the week when we share some inspiration for the current 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in.  We've had a few changes to the blog challenge and its now a month long challenge and you can enter up to 4 times.  The design team will still be sharing weekly inspiration for you all

and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is to create a Christmas birthday card for an adult.  I've always felt quite sorry for anyone with a birthday at Christmas as I think far too often their celebration gets lumped in with Christmas so I'm pleased mine is in July.  This card will be winging its way over to the UK for my cousins birthday at the end of December.

Because we have been so busy lately with the olives and I haven't had much time for crafting, I decided for my card today to use one of the gorgeous pre-coloured images poinsettia swags from the Poinsettia Wreath bundle.

In my graphics software, I started with a piece of digital paper from the Jolly Santa collection, resizing this to suit a 5" x 7" or A7 card blank.  Next I added the poinsettia swag, resizing to suit the panel and also added one of the sentiments from the new Theo Penguin collection.  To create extra dimension I decided to print out two extra poinsettias and then fussy cut these out, adding to my design using 3D glue gel.

The panel was layered onto gold mirri card and I then splattered gold and silver metallic watercolour paint over the design.

To finish off my card I added some stickles to the centre of the flowers for a little extra sparkle.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.

Christmas in July - Have a Jolly Christmas - July Digital Stamp Freebie with Blessed Crafters

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Saturday!

I'm on my blog today with another Christmas in July card - this time using a sweet Polar Bear from the Blessed Crafters Facebook Group.

Each month Mynn Kitchen very generously gives a digital stamp to her group members and there is a Month long themed challenge in the group.  Why not head over, join the group and enter the challenge as you could win a digital stamp set.

Here is the link to join the group Blessed Crafters Facebook Group/

This is a simple A6 (UK Size) card created with a mat layer of aqua glitter card on a white card blank.

I started off by resizing the polar bear digital stamp and then creating a panel adding the digital sentiment at the top and the mermaid rocks digital stamp at the bottom before printing out on my LaserJet printer.  I planned to foil the rocks and the sentiment using mint foil as i thought the rocks at the bottom look a little like an ice berg with the polar bear floating on it!

I used distress inks to create my background before foiling and then adding white gel pen highlights for the water and stickles to the ice to make it sparkle.

Next I coloured in the polar bear with my coloured pencils - colouring with my Promarkers in 38C temperatures is just not working ! and I'm loving using different mediums to create with.

Once the polar bear was coloured I fussy cut him out and then adhered him to the card using foam tape before splattering white paint over the whole card.

Finally I added white gel pen highlights here and there and some stickles to the bears pompom to finish off my card for today.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card for today and will drop by again to see my next project.

Make Waves, Dive Deep - New Release - Aquatic Adventures with Julia McNeill Designs

Hello everyone Happy Sunday I hope that you are enjoying your weekend.

It's time for me to post an extra project for JMC Designs  and also my next MerMay creation. There's still plenty of time to join in with the challenge and don't forget there will be a prize awarded to someone.

The prompt for today from JMC Designs is 'Shape of the sea' so I decided to create and underwater cave scene for the gorgeous mermaid Serephina from the brand new digital collection Aquatic Adventures.

I think she reminds me of Marilyn Monroe, with her gorgeous shapely curves.  I started by choosing one of beautiful papers from the collection that looks like a cave and resized this to fit an A7 5" x 7" card blank.

I printed the paper out twice as I wanted to fussy cut some of the coral at the bottom of the paper to decoupage for extra dimension.  I cut a piece of black cardstock to fit my card blank and then handcut a cave shape.  This card would create a frame around the design.

Next I resized Serephina to fit inside the frame of the underwater cave and coloured her with Promarkers before fussy cutting out.

The sentiments at the top and bottom of my design are also from the collection,  printed out and adhered to the design after adding a little blue distress ink to tone down the white of the card.

I used some black stickles to add details around the edge of the cave frame for a bit of extra sparkle.

The finishing touches to the card were some clear iridescent sequins around the design to add sparkle and shine, white gel pen to highlight Serephina's hair and I've added extra sparkle to the mermaid tail  and to some of the coral at the bottom.

I really hope that you like my project today and it would be lovely if you you leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Ocean Whispers, hugs and fishes - New Release - Aquatic Adventures with Julia McNeill Designs

Hello everyone Happy Monday I hope that you had a lovely weekend.

It's time for me to post my next project for JMC Designs  and also my MerMay creation.

The prompt for today from JMC Designs is 'Something Fishy !' so I've gone overboard with loads of fishy ephemera from the brand new digital collection Aquatic Adventures

I love all these bright colours it makes such a fun design I think

I decided for my project with this new collection to make a multi- tiered Popup Box card to create another underwater scene. I thought this style would be prefect and look like lots of layers of waves in the sea.  The card is very simple to create.  I cut the card pieces to start off from a light aqua card stock.  To create the same size you need the following pieces.

For the main box panel a piece of card 9 1/2" x 6", scored at 1 3/4" & 7 3/4"

For the different tiers I cut 5 additional pieces from the same aqua card,

  • 5" x 6 1/2"
  • 4" x 6 1/2"
  • 3" x 6 1/2"
  • 2 1/2" x 6 1/2"
Each of these tier panels is scored identically at 1/4" & 6 1/4"

If you have never made one of these cards before then I would highly recommend watching one of Sam Calcott of Mixed Up Crafts YouTube videos as she explains how to assemble the card really clearly and once you understand the mechanism you can adapt the measurements to suit the card you want to create.  Here is the link to the video

Next I printed out one of the wave style papers from the collection, I chose the Bubbled Waves paper and used this to cover the back of the card base and the tier sections.
You don't need to cover each tier completely as they wont be visible once the card is assembled and I don't like to waste my papers.  Each strip I used was about 1 1/2" in width.

Next I printed out the pre-coloured fish ephemera from the collection and a few pieces of seaweed fussy cutting  these out.  I used a dark grey pen to cover the white edges ( great if you aren't too good at fussy cutting as it hides any mistakes! )

The ephemera was then adhered to the card, some flat, some with foam tape to create my underwater scene. I love the little startled fish hiding in the seaweed at the bottom, isn't he a cutie.

The sentiments, top and bottom are also from the collection,  printed out and simply matted on the aqua card.

I used a blue metallic pen to draw a squiggly line around them for a bit of sparkle.

The finishing touches to the card were some white iridescent sequins around the design to add sparkle and shine, white gel pen to highlight some of the bubbles on the paper, glossy accents to the fish eyes and I've added stickles to the fish for extra sparkle.  Definitely a very fishy card !

I really hope that you like my project today and it would be lovely if you you leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Enjoy the rest of your day !

A Passion for Markers BlogSpot Challenge #695 - Use dies and/or Punches

Hello and a happy Tuesday to you all !

I'm here today to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog.

This weeks challenge is being sponsored by The Colour of Love

There are loads of lovely digital images and colouring pages by the very talented Heather Valentin in the on line store so I would highly recommend taking a look as I'm sure you will find loads that you love.

The theme this week chosen by Linda for Team 2 is use Dies and/or punches.

I chose to use a sweet image called Lil Cassi Boo's Butterflies for my card, coloured with my Promarkers.

Don't forget there will be a prize for the Winner of the challenge - there are more details over on the Passion for Markers blog.

I coloured the sweet image with my promarkers, used a stitched die to cut out the panel to fit an A6 card blank and then fussy cut the top portion of the image. Next I have created a cloudy background using a stitched die to cut a panel the exact size of the coloured image.

Next I have used foam tape to adhere the image over the cloudy background.

Finally I have used a butterfly die to cut out 3 small butterflies, adding these around the design with small gems for detail.  I added lots of clear sparkle to the image and stickles to the flowers in the grass.

The sentiment strip at the bottom of the card is from Lisa Horton Crafts, mounted on card for height.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog

Wishing you a Happy Birthday with Pink Gem Designs

Hello everyone wishing you all a happy Friday... I hope that you have had a great week.

Today I am sharing a sweet Flip card that I have made for for Pink Gem Designs using the very cute Bunnies digital stamp set

It's a fabulous set of digital stamps and includes 7 black Line art images and 2 sentiments for you to use.

I decided for todays card to create an easy kinetic
6" x 6" flip card and I've incorporated a square flip panel although you can make flip cards with different shapes and without dies too if you don't have any.
The card folds flat for posting but when you open it the heart panel flips over to reveal a hidden message.

For my flip panel card I have used a 6" x 6" card blank and have used a pencil to make a feint pencil line at 3" on one of the card panels.

On the panel with the pencil line position the die, a square in my case over this, lining up the die centrally over the pencil line.

The card can then be passed through the die cutting machine to partially cut the chosen shape.  I only want the square shape cut on the left part of my front panel so you can do this easily by lining up the top cutting plate with the part that you want to be cut.

There are loads of excellent video tutorials showing how to do this and how to create different sizes of cards.  This is one I like by Sam Calcott of Mixed Up Craft that is great for explaining how to recreate these simple cards.

I chose two of the sweet bunnies from the set, one with her eyes closed and the next with them open and coloured them using my promarkers before fussy cutting out.

Once the card base is ready the fun part is decorating it.  I chose some pretty papers from my stash that I've had for years and a happy birthday sentiment strip.

I added a little gold sparkle to the flowers and some card candi covered with glossy accents to add extra detail.

I really hope that you like my card today and it would be lovely if you you leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !
