A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #822 - Use Ribbon or Lace - Sponsored by RAM Stamps

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely day - We've had a few days now of cold, wind and rain and there's more to come this week - I do love days when I can craft and catch up with my blog especially when its too cold to be outside.

So glad we have our log burner for the evenings and we've also treated ourselves to a huge electric blanket for the sofa too - it makes such a big difference and a couple of the kitties are also in love with it LOL.

Today I'm here to let you know that there's a new week long challenge on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in as there is a prize up for grabs.

This week we are being sponsored by RAM Stamps and our theme is very simple - Use Ribbon or Lace being hosted by Kitty for Team 2.

As we've had so much rain over recent days I decided today to use the very sweet Friendship Mouse printed out and coloured with my Promarkers before fussy cutting out.

I have absolutely loads of ribbons but very rarely use them in my cards these days - something else I need to use more to create some space LOL.

The white top panel is a pre-cut panel that I've had for many years from Craftwork cards so I started by stencilling s few rain drops onto this before wrapping a small piece of sheer blue ribbon around the bottom of the panel.  I added a peice of blue paper to the card base and stamped a sentiment in the bottom right corner of the card

The stencilled panel was adhered to the card base with foam tape and then the sweet little mouse adhered onto the rain drops again with foam tape.

The finishing touches were some clear sparkle onto the puddle and the rain drops and glossy accents to the little lady bird.

Wishing you all a wonderful week!

I hope that you join in with the challenge as don't forget there is a prize from the sponsor for our lucky winner!

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog

Sending Love - Hi Honey - A5 Stamp Set - New Release with Lili of the Valley (LOTV)

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Saturday....The Sunshine is out and the bees are very busy in our garden now that the rains seem to have stopped for a few days at least.

I'm here today with a very cute card for Lili of the Valley (LOTV) using one of the gorgeous new A5 Polymer stamp sets which is not currently available but will be back in stock soon in the Etsy shop

My sweet card has been made using one of the sweet little bears from the Hi Honey set, stamped and then coloured with my promarkers, keeping the design really simple.

Just look at that cute little face with the bee on his nose, peeking through the window - ooh don't move little bear!  The sweet little sentiment is from the Sending Love set of stamps

Finishing touches were some clear sparkle to the little bees wings and glossy accents to the bears nose.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Lili of the Valley (LOTV)

Digi Choosday - Wednesdays - Gift Wrapping with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday I hope that your having a good week so far, I cant believe its the end of October already - my goodness time flies!

It's that time of the week when we launch a brand new 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing discount off all crafty printable downloads until midnight today!

The theme set for the DT this week is to create some gift wrapping so i decided to make a small gift bag for Christmas.

I don't often make gift bags but this is such a simple one to create - even I could do it. For the base of the bag I used some red cardstock (about 160 GSM).

These are the measurements and then score lines I made  started with 2 pieces of red card measuring

  • 2 pieces of 8 1/4 x 11 red card

  • Score along the 8 1/4 side at 4 1/2 & 7 3/4

  • Score along the 11 side at 7 3/4

Fold and burnish the score lines and then you will need to cut along the bottom edge on both pieces for the corners of the bag before assembling it.  Sam Calcott has a great tutorial  that explains how the gift bag is made.  Here is the link  to the instructions.  I decided not to create the outer wrapper in the tutorial opting to decorate the bag simply and then use my eyelet tool to add eyelets to the top of bag to allow it to be closed with some pretty red ribbon

To decorate the bag I cut two pieces of patterned paper from the new Gingerbread Cookie collection from the Gingerbread Cookie Snow Day bundle.  From the red cardstock I have die cut a scalloped panel and then adhered one of the pre-coloured toppers from the Jingle Bells bundle to decorate the front of the bag.

The gift tag I have added is from the Sweet Gingerbread bundle, with a piece of simple twine through the hole at the top.

To add a little sparkle I have added glitter glue to the Christmas tree baubles.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Polkadoodles.
