Sweet Wishes - Fairy Calendar January with Lili of the Valley (LOTV)

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Thursday.... I hope that you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year and made the most of the holiday too.

I'm back today with a card project for Lili of the Valley (LOTV) using one of the gorgeous digital stamps from the Fairy Calendar collection, January is a perfect magical image to celebrate the New Year available from the Etsy shop

I resized the image to suit my 6" x 6" Bookbinding Z-fold card before printing out onto alcohol friendly card, colouring with Promarkers and then fussy cutting out by hand.

The sentiment that I have used is from the Fairy sentiments set  and I used papers from the Sweet Candy backing paper collection

Finishing touches were some glitter and sparkle around the design and glossy accents on the champagne glass.

Happy Birthday Fairy card with Crafter's Companion

Hello....Happy Saturday and Happy June everyone! I hope you all had a great week and have a lovely weekend planned.

I have a slightly different card to share with you today - something a little more traditional I suppose but it was made for a commission for an 80th birthday so I've gone a bit old school with a little decoupage combined with a more modern background.

I was asked to make a card with a fairy theme so this is my creation and fingers crossed it was what was wanted.

I started by creating a pretty ink smooshed background with pink distress inks on watercolour card.  I like to let each layer dry before using a different colour as it gives a wonderful layered effect. I splattered the panel with pearl silver watercolour ink and water to create texture and shine.

Then I used some very old but never used stamps from my stash - its a set of Flower Fairies by Crafters Companion - bought many moons ago but unused.  They are even unmounted rubber stamps so I had to cut them out too before I cut used them. How things have changed over the years!

I originally planned to use the main fairy stamp but I just couldn't get it to look how I wanted to decided to use the blossom stamps around the edge of the watercolour panel in a grey Versafine ink.

I used stamped a few extra onto card to colour and then fussy cut out.  I like to have dimension on my cards.

I then chose a pre-coloured fairy from a a Fairyopolis cd from Crafters Companion and printed this out, fussy cutting it out and adhering to the card so the fairy is standing on one of the branches.  The licensed images are based on the original Flower Fairies artwork by Cicely Mary Barker

The personalised sentiment was created in my graphics software, printed out and then I blended pink distress ink so it toned with the design.

To finish off I added some clear sparkle to the wings and some clear iridescent sequins around the design.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next card that I share, made using this set.

A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #728 - Fabulous Florals

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely day !

Today I'm here to let you know that a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in.

This weeks challenge theme of 'Fabulous Florals' has been chosen by Karen for team 2 and being sponsored by Colour of Love

I chose to use one of the digital images called Little Black- eyed Susan Flower Cup for my card today.... Isn't she a sweetheart.

This is a 5 x 7 portrait card with two die cut frames of black and honey yellow card to coordinate with the image.

The image was resized to suit the card, printed on a laser printer and then coloured with my Promarkers.  After colouring I have used a black Minc foil to add gorgeous shine to the image.  The Minc foil is basically applied to all of the LaserJet printed areas - so the outline of the image and it gives a wonderful and very professional look - far better than black heat embossing as the detail is amazing.

The sentiment from Polkadoodles was also printed out and foiled in black and I added this to the bottom of the card, matted on black card strips.

To finish off my design I have added a touch of clear sparkle to the wings of the little fairy.

I hope that you join in with the challenge as there is a prize from the sponsor for our lucky winner!

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog

I Love Promarkers #537 - Add Some Sparkle

Hello everyone wishing you a wonderful Wednesday! I hope that you are having a lovely week and the weather is being kind to you.

I'm on my blog today for the new bi-weekly I Love Promarkers blog challenge , it would be wonderful if you joined us over there if you love to colour with alcohol markers and don't forget there are prizes up for grabs.

You can find all of the rules and details for the challenge over on the blog.

This challenge is being sponsored by Colour of Love

Here is my inspiration card for the current blog challenge with the theme - Add Some Sparkle, using a beautiful image called Snowflake Fairy Ballerina.

Isn't She just beautiful and believe me she is very sparkly !

For today's  A6 (UK size) card I have added a digital image in my graphics software before printing the image out onto alcohol marker friendly card.
For anyone that is interested I like to use Transotype Perfect Colouring Paper for all of my digital images that I am going to colour with Promarkers.
I added a touch of distress ink around the edge of the image to create a halo effect around the fairy and then layered this onto a panel of Lisa Horton Crafts Euphoria Glitter cardstock - its one of my favourites and super sparkly.

The finishing touches for my card today are lots of glitter around the image using a quickie glue pen and some Glamour dust.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my magical Inspired by a Film card for today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the I Love Markers blog
