New Release - Graduation /school/ college - Hooray card with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone wishing you all a wonderful day - I hope the weather is being kind to you....it's still so hot here, too hot really to be outside much past 2pm...I have been trying to get a bit of work done in the garden first thing before the sun is too strong but its not easy.

Some of the plants are starting to look very weary too especially as we have been having hot winds too which sadly is drying out the plants even more.  hoping for a break in the weather and maybe a thunderstorm to freshen things up but I suspect it will be like this now until September.

I'm sure you've already seen the brand new release by Polkadoodles crafting It's all about Graduation School Student New jobs.

It’s a bumper kit with fabulous papers, ephemera, word art and of course the wonderful characters (line art and pre-coloured)….. perfect for all those celebrations not just traditional graduation!

Fun, colourful elements perfect for graduation cards, teacher thank you gifts, school leavers' memory books, and end-of-term projects. With 100's of high-resolution digital assets, including clipart characters, coordinating papers, printable sentiments, ephemera, and both black & white and pre-coloured digi stamps, this bundle is ideal for card making, junk journaling, digital scrapbooking, planner pages and more.

If you are looking for more inspiration then why not head over to the Polkadoodles gallery where I'm sure you'll find some inspiration.

My next card features a real cutie celebrating in style with all those balloons and bottles of fizz.....she definitely deserves it after all the hard work.

I've used a fabulous Polkadoodles Funky Vortex stencil for my background with pretty distress inks to co-ordinate with the balloons.

The main image is the Cute girl Graduation gown and I also printed out 3 bottles of fizz and lots of balloons, all fussy cut out by hand after colouring with promarkers.

I've added some clear sparkle to the balloons and bottles of fizz and some clear iridescent sequins around the design.

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next card I share from Polkadoodles.

New Release - Graduation /school/ college /new job card with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone wishing you all a wonderful day - my goodness its so hot here at the moment...I have to keep escaping the heat to cool off inside, even the pool water isn't very cooling at 32C

There’s a brand new release by Polkadoodles crafting just launched and here is my first card using the Graduation School Student digital collection.

This little girl is a real cutie with her pens and pencils, coloured with Promarkers….just ready to start school with loads of dreams and lots of ambitions.

I've used a couple of the papers from the collection to decorate my upright Z-fold card for my card today, foiling one of them in teal foil for a touch of shine.

For the main image I selected the pencil clip art and enlarged this to create a rainbow of huge pencils behind the little girl. I also added an extra pot of pencils to the image before printing out and colouring with promarkers - a girl can never have too much stationery after all !

I hope that you like my card today and you'll enjoy the next card I share from Polkadoodles.

๐Ÿ’–
This week the DT was asked to make a 'Back to School' themed card so I decided to use the Lou the Teacher digital stamp bundle.

I decided to make a larger 5" x 7" card for today's project so started off by resizing the black and white digital stamp in my graphics software before printing her out. I coloured her in using my Promarkers (see below for the colours I've used)

This Polkadoodles digital stamp comes in a bundle with 5 beautiful co-ordinating papers too.

I wanted to make a shaker panel for this card that looked a little like a black board/chalk board so started by first using the Lisa Horton Crafts mini slimline die to cut out a frame from Neenah Desert Storm card.

I've then added some extra strong tape to the reverse of this frame and cut a piece of acetate to fit this frame.

To make the frame look like woodgrain I've used my distress inks to swipe across the frame - I used Tea Dye and  Ground Espresso inks to get the effect and colour that I wanted.

For the back panel of my shaker I die cut a rectangle of black cardstock using the same panel die as before but this time I didn't cut out the centre piece and I have stamped the words from my new  Blooming Blossoms stamps in white embossing powder before heat setting.

Top Tip ๐Ÿ’ก: don't forget to wipe anti static powder over the card before stamping in embossing ink as this will stop any unwanted embossing powder from sticking to your card.

I like to build my shaker panels from the bottom up, so once the embossing had cooled I wiped off any excess antistatic powder from the card using a dry cloth and then added foam tape around the edge of the panel to form a well for my sprinkles.

Top Tip ๐Ÿ’ก: remove the protective backing from the foam before adding the sprinkles onto the panel to prevent any from sticking to the foam tape.  If you look closely I've used the off cuts from the panels that I die cut and added some sequins to my shaker well.  I also like to stick a few of the shaker elements to the back of the panel so there will always be some visible when the card is stood upright !

Next, I carefully lined up the top frame with the acetate window to cover my panel and encase the shaker elements.

The completed panel is ready now to be adhered to the card base but first I chose one of the papers from the bundle and cut this to size, matting it with a piece of black card to tie this into the shaker panel.

Top Tip ๐Ÿ’ก: don't forget to cut out a panel from the card that will be hidden below the designer paper, there's no point wasting it after all and it will be completely hidden once the card is finished !

I then used a wet glue to adhere the shaker panel to my card on an angle.

The simple sentiment strip is from the Winnie Daisy Fairy greeting bundle matted onto a strip of black card.

Any finally, I adhered Lou to my card, adding some star sequins around the card for a little extra sparkle and used glossy accents to fill the glass in her glasses.

I hope you liked my card for today and don't forget to join in with the 'Anything goes' challenge over at the DIGI CHOOSDAY BLOG!
