Christmas is coming ! - Advent Calendar - Calendario de Adviento with Craftelier

Hello everyone happy Friday ! I hope you have had a great week and something nice planned over the weekend.

Were going out for lunch on Sunday with friends, trying out a new restaurant that's had loads of great reviews.  Fingers crossed x

A few weeks back I ordered a wooden advent calendar from Craftelier - we always buy a calendar and I was getting fed up of the little chocolates and generally quite naff pictures so decided we would have our own that we could fill with yummy chocolates - 1 each every day rather then having to share.

The calendar made by Artemio comes pre-assembled and I was really pleased with the quality!  I only had a little sanding around some of the edges to do before I could start to paint it.

I also bought some of the little stickers to add to the drawers once painted.... IT took me a few weeks to find some quite time to get on with it but after a couple of afternoons work its now finished and ready...

I'm really pleased with how it looks - I painted it with some acrylic paints in shades of blues, greens and silver and cream and added a little silver gilding wax around the edges of the drawers and a few sparkly sequins here and there to catch the light.

It's now filled with yummy chocolates too all ready for 1st December!

I hope that you like my project today and you'll come back to see my next project

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Good Times - Beach Time with Pattie's Creations September Challenge

Happy Friday everyone I hope that you are all well and have had a lovely week.

The first day of September for me marks the start of things getting back to normal after the summer holidays, especially here in Spain as things definitely seem to close over August with it being so hot.  We have family staying at the moment and its still beautiful hot sunny weather with the promise of cooler nights on the horizon.

Today also marks the start of a new Challenge for September over on the Pattie's Creations Design Challenge blog

The challenge runs from the first Friday of the month and its an Anything Goes challenge as long as you use a digital or stamped image in your project, so why not join in the challenge.

Winners of the challenge will receive 2 digital stamps of your choice from Pattie's shop.

Pattie has some wonderful digital stamps in her Etsy Shop pattiescreations and there is also a freebie every month on the blog that you can use in your project if you want to!

For my Septembers project, I chose the Beach Time digital stamp.  As the holiday makers start to leave and return to work etc that's my favourite time to visit our beautiful beaches nearby, whilst the see is still warm and perfect for swimming and snorkelling and reading a good book listening to the waves.

Today's card is all about the perfect peaceful scene that Pattie has drawn and didn't really need anything adding at all.  I've used an A6(UK size) card blank and resized the image to suit before printing out onto alcohol friendly card stock and colouring with my promarkers (see below for colours used).

I decided the used distress inks to create my sky and sea and have fussy cut the main image before mounting onto the inked panel.  I added a little white pigment ink into the sea to give it some movement.

For the shore line I've used white acrylic paint, simply splotching it along the line to add sea foam and give it texture too!

No sparkle today as I really didn't want to spoil the scene!

I do hope that you like my card for today and don't forget to join in with this months challenge over on the blog.

Wanda Girl - Born to Sparkle - Forced to Work with Polkadoodles

Hello and happy Sunday everyone...I hope that you are all enjoying the weekend.

I'm a little late posting today as we've been out on a lovely walk this morning down along the river bed, around 8Km with our local walking group so it was an early start at 7:45 to beat the heat of the sun....it was lovely and cool most of the time shaded by the bamboo along the river so really glad we made the effort.

Today on my blog I have something a little different to share with you.

Not a card but a handy little linen/cloth gift bag that I've upcycled using the fabulous new Wanda Girl Collection by Polkadoodles

For todays project I have used Wanda Girl Working to decorate a little bag
along with one of the fabulous sentiments from the collection.  The little bag was free and I have another project to share once I've finished it, using one of the linen shopping bags that you can reuse.

Its really easy to do - I simply printed the image and the sentiment as normal but onto copier paper and then used a small ball tool/stylus and some carbon paper to trace the image and the sentiment onto the bag.

Next I've simply coloured the image with acrylic paints!  I used one of my metallic Posca paint pens to colour the sentiment for a touch of sparkle.

Couldn't get much easier really - just think of the possibilities

I hope that you like my project today and you'll enjoy the next projects I share from the Wanda Girl collection by Polkadoodles.
