A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #815 - Christmas - Sponsored by Lili of the Valley

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely day - I hope that week is going well for you.  My goodness we've had so much rain over the last couple of days - everywhere is feeling very soggy and could do with a bit of drying time.

We're starting phase two of our olive picking this week, assuming the rain stops long enough LOL

The first batch of Olives has given us 200 litres of delicious extra Virgin Olive Oil and we'll probably get another 100 litres or so with the remaining trees to pick - not a bad yield at all.

There's a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in.

This weeks challenge theme of 'Christmas' it had to be really has been chosen by Me for team 2 and is being sponsored by Lili of the Valley.

For my card today I decided to create a snowy scene for one of the cutest snowmen -  the Top Hat Snowman

He's definitely such a happy looking chap.... I wonder if he's off to a Christmas party ?

I created a landscape stair step card using a standard A6 card blank and then for the step section I cut a piece of card  10" by 5 3/4" scoring this at 1", 2" 4" and 6"

The step section was then adhered into the inside of the card blank before decorating with a starry sky paper that I've had in my stash for years, for the middle and back panel and then used white card die cut to create snow banks, edging these with blue distress ink

The snowman and the trees were coloured with promarkers and fussy cut out, adhering to the middle panel.  The little star from the image was adhered using a strip of acetate so it floats in the sky above the snowman.

I added a couple of die cut trees to the card, these were coloured with distress ink and then the card was finished off with lots of lovely snowy sparkle.

I hope that you join in with the challenge as there is a prize from the sponsor for our lucky winner!

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

Digi Choosday - Theo Penguin collection - Big Hat Day - Non Traditional Christmas colours - with Polkadoodles

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you are having a good week....So, November is here and I think it's about time we got a little bit more Christmassy...it's not long to go after all and those cards need to be made and posted.

It's that time of the week to share some more inspiration for our current 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing Digi Choosday discount off all crafty printable downloads!

Don't Forget that our challenges our now 4 weekly so there's loads of time for you to join in and more chances to win too!

The theme set for the DT this week is Anything with non traditional Christmas or Winter colours.

I decided to use a cute little digital stamp from the Theo Penguin collection for this weeks card making a Winter card that could easily be used at Christmas too!

The main Theo image is  called Big Hat Day and he was, resized and coloured with promarkers before fussy cutting out.

For the background I chose 3 alcohol markers in purple, teal and blue and used these to scribble onto a piece of vellum, adding alcohol to the scribbles to get the colours to blend and flow. It's a really fun technique and gives some fabulous effects.

When I was happy with the overall effect and before the ink was completely dry I applied some electric blue foil to the areas that were still tacky.  I decided I wanted more foil so then splattered foil glue across the panel and once this has gone tacky applied more of the same foil.  It's super shiny and I love how it looks.

The coloured sentiment from the collection was printed and layered onto the pale aqua card after die cutting a stitched wavy border

To finish off the design I added some sparkly aqua blue gems and white pen highlights around the design.

I hope that you like my project today and you'll enjoy the next that I share from Polkadoodles.
