Just a little Hello - Sending Happy thoughts with Altenew

Hello everyone happy Tuesday!

I hope you are having a lovely week - I treated myself some time ago to a Build a Garden collection by Altenew.

The set is called the Daisy Crown collection and I bought the stamp set, layering stencils and coordinating dies, but I've been so busy with other projects I've never got round to playing with it.

So I decided to have a play whilst hiding indoors to try to keep cool.

It's very different from my normal cute cards but I do love to make floral cards.

I used the smaller of the floral images for this card and I've got loads more ideas just need to have the time - who knew being retired would be so busy... LOL

I stamped the smaller floral spray in a light grey distress ink and then used the layering stencils to colour the design before cutting out with the matching die.

The background is a piece of fabulous ink drop paper that I have been hoarding but thought it was about time I used some !...the design has the look of gold foiling but I decided to add more, splattering the panel with foiling flake glue before adding gold foil.

The sentiment were stamped using purple Versafine Clair ink, one directly onto the card blank and the other die cut and then mounted with foam. Finishing touches were a few pieces of gold confetti around the design.

I hope that you like my project today and you'll come back to see my next project

Hasta luego ๐Ÿ‘‹

Enjoy the rest of your day !

New Release - Christmas - Photo Strip - Reindeer with Lili of the Valley LOTV

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Saturday ....I hope you are having a good weekend.

Today I'm sharing another cute DL Christmas card  made for Lili of the Valley (LOTV) using another of the new Photo booth digital stamp sets.

These cards feature a very funny Reindeer, its the  Reindeer Photo Strip set available in the Etsy shop.

I really love all of these Christmas stamps as they are such versatile stamps and can be used all together as one image or you can split them to create 4 separate cards....its really hard to choose a favourite!

Just look at this naughty reindeer pretending to be Rudolph!  I hope he doesn't find out....

I resized the images to fit my landscape DL card and then coloured with my promarkers before fussy cutting each little image out.

For my landscape card I die cut a frame of aqua glitter card and the cut a panel of aqua paper from the Snow Princess collection for the background.  The little images were then adhered into the frame, some flat to the panel and some on foam tape for dimension.

I die cut the Christmas word from the glitter card and then adhered this to the bottom of the card.

Finishing touches were some glittery sparkle on the reindeers hat, white gel pen highlights, glossy accents for the nose and I added some iridescent sparkle after all you can never have too much at Christmas.

I hope that you like my cards today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Lili of the Valley (LOTV)

Quirky birds - Princess of Hearts Collection - Life is Sweeter - with Julia McNeil Designs

Hello everyone Happy Friday everyone !  I hope you are enjoying the Summer - its a little bit hot here so having to spend quite a bit of time indoors keeping out of the heat but hopefully a few more weeks and the heat will start to ease off.

Today I have a fun and quirky little card that I have made using the quirky bird from the Princess of Hearts Mini digital collection.  Its supposed to be a flamingo but I do like to make something different!

A few years ago we bought a quirky bird from a friends mum.  She had made it from varnished gourds and false flowers among other recycled bits and pieces and we love it.

It's hanging in our lounge amongst the plants...we're not sure what type of bird it is but when I saw the digital image in this fun collection I knew I had to make a fun and quirky card using it.

Certain to bring a smile to anyone's face I think LOL

I resized 2 of the images and reversed one of them before printing out along with one of the hearts and a sentiment from the collection.

The two quirky birds were coloured with my Polychromos pencils.

The  background was stencilled with distress inks and I added shading with a couple of pencils and highlights with a white gelly roll pen.

A simple die cut frame for the birds and some coloured card strips at the bottom for my fun card for today.

Finishing touches were white gelly roll pen highlights and glossy accents to the eyes .

I do hope that you like my card for today and I'd love it if you'd leave me a comment.

Enjoy the rest of your day !

This weeks challenge is being sponsored by LeAnn's World 101 and our theme of 'For a Child' this week was chosen for team 2 by Kitty.

I decided to keep the colour palette bright and simple using stencils and distress inks to create the background beach scene.   To add detail to the foam on the waters edge I've used a little white gesso on my finger and white gel pen on the waves.

Anette was coloured with my promarkers before fussy cutting out and adding to the scene with glossy accents on the bobbles in her hair.

The two sentiments have been foiled  for a touch of shine.

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog

The theme set for the DT this week is to create something using butterflies with am In the garden theme.

I love being in the garden and seeing the beautiful butterflies flying around so this was the perfect theme for me.  I decided to combine some digital papers, a stencil and a beautiful stamp for todays challenge.

I created an upright easel card and started off by choosing a floral gorgeous paper from the Flower Meadow digital kit to layer onto my card with a matt layer of purple card stock.  For the upright panel I used the pale lilac striped paper from the kit as I wanted to add stencilling to this.

I die cut a frame from purple card and used distress inks to add a darker shade at the bottom of the frame.

Next I stamped the beautiful butterfly from the Hearts and Flowers Butterfly stamp set, I wanted a deep purple so used a dark blue ink and a lighter purple over the top to get the colour I wanted.

I used distress inks over the butterfly before cutting out and adhering to the panel with foam tape.

The card stopped is a simple strip of card with a sentiment printed out from the  collection.

Finishing touches were a few pieces of purple confetti around the card and some sparkle to the butterflies.

I hope that you like my project today and you'll enjoy the next that I share from Polkadoodles.

New Release - Christmas - Photo Strip - Robin with Lili of the Valley LOTV

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Tuesday....I hope you are having a good week so far... we've got family staying so having a few days being tourists, trying to keep cool and eating too much as usual ! I'm missing my crafty time so managed to sneak some quiet chilling time to myself today to create a little and catch up with the blog.

Today I'm sharing a cute DL Christmas card  made for Lili of the Valley (LOTV) using another of the new Photo booth digital stamp sets.

These cards feature a very funny Robin, its the  Robin Photo Strip set available in the Etsy shop.

I really love all of these Christmas stamps as they are such versatile stamps and can be used all together as one image or you can split them to create 4 separate cards.

I remember seeing a die last year or so that created a strip of film roll so I wanted to create this as I think the Robin looks like he's trying to make a film of him flying in with his Christmas banners.

Just some simple colouring with my promarkers and then I used a small square die to create the notches in each side of the card panel.  Once I had cut all these out I used my black promarker to create the fil strip effect.

Finishing touches were some glittery sparkle on the robins hat and I used a white Posca pen to create the snow in the scene.

I hope that you like my cards today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Lili of the Valley (LOTV)

New Release - Christmas in July - Photo Strip - Penguin with Lili of the Valley LOTV

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely Friday....I hope you have all had a great week....we finally both seem to be over our nasty cough and colds - its been about 8 weeks and I thought it was never going away...fingers crossed.

We've ordered our acequia water today so I'm off to help out with the watering - hopefully the plants will love it!

I'm here today with another Christmas card for Lili of the Valley (LOTV) using one of the new Photo booth digital stamp sets.

This card feature the Penguin Photo Strip set set available in the Etsy shop.

These are such versatile stamps and can be used all together as one image or you can split them as I have done to create my card today......did I mention that I think are adorable and there's a sale on in the shop at the moment until 31st July so don't miss out!

This is the front of the card which is an A7 Landscape card, I've used one of the gorgeous papers from the Essential Papers Frosty Christmas set, layered onto silver glitter card.  The sentiment was stamped and cut out and I used a very old snowflake punch to add a little detail around the word.

A beautiful card in itself but then when you open up the card you get a wonderful surprise!

Its the silly penguin trying to get photos of himself in the photo booth - oh my goodness what is he doing.. LOL

Just some simple colouring with my promarkers and matting with coloured card.  I added each little panel to the pop out W strip a little wonky and I think it works really well.

The paper on the inside of my card is from an old paper pad but I thought the design was perfect for this penguins antics.

Finishing touches were some glittery sparkle on the penguins hat and little punched snowflakes.

I hope that you like my cards today and you'll enjoy the next cards I share from Lili of the Valley (LOTV)

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday... I hope that you are having a good week....x

It's that time of the week to share some more inspiration for our current 'Anything Goes' challenge over on the Polkadoodles Digi Choosday Blog so I hope you are going to join in and don't forget the amazing Digi Choosday discount off all crafty printable downloads!

Don't Forget that our challenges our now 4 weekly so there's loads of time for you to join in and more chances to win too!

The theme set for the DT this week is to create something with a sporting theme and also to follow a colour palette.

I'm not a bit sport fan but I have been known to watch a little of Wimbledon so I decided to use the very cute Love Always Bunnies collection.  The image is called Love All and I decided to use my distress inks to watercolour for a change.

Not my forte but its always good to try new things and step out of our comfort zones from time to time - think I need a bit more practice as the background seemed a little too blue for the look I was trying to achieve, but its not bad at all.

I chose distress ink colours to match the colour palette and also some papers from the Let's Hang Out collection to co-ordinate with the design.  Just some vey simple mat and layering and a few pieces of card candi to finish off my card today.

I hope that you like my project today and you'll enjoy the next that I share from Polkadoodles.

A Passion for Markers Blog Spot Challenge #797 - Add Flowers - Sponsored by Sheepski Designs

Hello everyone wishing you all a lovely day - Just a very quick post from me today as its my birthday and my cousin and best friend is visiting from the UK....we are off out down to the coast today for lunch at a fabulous restaurant overlooking the beach and water and then chilling by the pool - well it would be rude not to!  There might even be a few cocktails thrown in too for good measure.

There's a new challenge has started over on the Passion for Markers Blog challenge and I hope that you will join in.

This weeks challenge theme of 'Add flowers' has been chosen by Elaine for team 2 and is being sponsored by Sheepski Designs. The online Etsy store is now sadly closed but the lucky winner will be sent a link to download their chosen 3 images.

If you know me then you know I love strong vibrant colours  so I chose to use this fabulous image with a toucan and hibiscus.  We have some beautiful hibiscus in the garden and I love the more unusual colours, so I used that as inspiration.  I also wanted to create a sunset background to give the card a real tropical vibe.

The background panel was blended with distress inks and I love the end result.  The image was resized to suit the landscape A7 card, printing on alcohol friendly card stock before colouring  with my Promarkers and fussy cutting out.

I then used some fabulous dies to cut out the sentiment, hibiscus flowers and palm leaves, colouring with the same distress inks.

The finishing touches were some new sparkly gems to some of the flowers.

I hope that you join in with the challenge as there is a prize from the sponsor for our lucky winner!

I really hope that you have enjoyed my card today and will drop by again to see my next project and don't forget to join in with the challenge over on the Passion for Markers blog
